Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/12/2021 11:07

Im 30 and I weigh 19st 7lb.

Ideally I'd like to lose 10st. I'm obese and I hate it.
I started again dieting yesterday.

I can only manage 5000 steps a day due to being disabled, and I do those with a frame.

I'm hopeful that if I lose the weight there'll be less pressure on my already buggered joints.

Anyone else with a lot to lose would you like a daily check in thread with me?

I can not believe I have been doing my exercise biking for 11 weeks, which really surprises me!

I am glad as the medical pedals I had to buy (for the recumbent exercise bike which we already owned) were so expensive. But it was the only way to keep my feet on the pedals with this special cradle. (Neurological issue, I am in a wheelchair outside the house)

I only weighted myself two weeks ago, so no idea how much I lost in the first two months but I know it was a fair bit. As my mobility had tanked and it is slightly better now. Still got a long way to go.

I have found a way of getting a 'fitness grade' off the bike, it takes your pulse and again after a minute. Today my score was 5.4, with 6 being the worse and 1 being the best! Bet it was 6 at the start.

So I now have a bike fitness goal to get a better fitness grade than 5.4.

Hello all looks like everyone is doing well to keep motivated and get back up on the horse! I have lost a few lbs so far but think I need to get a bit more organised and a bit stricter with myself.. probably a little too much nibbling of the kids easter eggs this weekend! I'm thinking of joining either WW or slimming world online to give me more of a focus. Haven't decided which yet. Or I could go for a calories counting app like my fitness pal...
I've also been enjoying the just Dance and RingFit games on the Switch but having not done exercise for a long time I'm surprised (well not really surprised given how much weight im carrying!) how difficult it is just to move but slow and steady. I am trying not to cause damage to my already crumbling knees! @SpookyScarySkeletons I need one of those under desk bikes!
I used to do aqua aerobics actually and that was good for low impact exercise.
@tomorrowalready yes coke is so addictive..I'm now trying to wean off the diet stuff too cause its not great for me and I could do with just drinking some water! Good luck to everyone for the coming week and may we all have buckets of motivation and some victories to celebrate

Jess x

@worrysaboutalot that sounds like good progress 👏 sure it won't be long until you see that number get smaller again!

HerRoyalHappiness · 19/04/2022 18:11

How's everyone's day been? I've had a really good day so far. Went to the park with the kids which was fun, then I've had therapy but I've not turned to food. Grin

I’ve had a good day. Went on my dog walk and went to the gym.

HerRoyalHappiness · 19/04/2022 21:16

Well done @Wombatsandstuff that's great!

Got on the scales today haven't been weighing much and I'm now overweight and not obese !! BMI is 29 I could cry. 5 stone 10lbs gone just 1 stone and 8lbs and I'll be a healthy weight. Finally feeling like this journey is worth it.

passmesomesalad · 19/04/2022 22:43

Would love to join in I have at least 8 stone to loose but need some motivation. What's every following/doing to help their weight loss?

DuckWithOneWing · 19/04/2022 23:08

Hi everyone! I'm still here, I've been plodding along and now I'm several stones down since the start of the year. I've mostly been counting calories - I started off with SW because that's what I'd done previously but felt like mixing it up.

I'm aiming to move more each day. I've set my daily step goal to 5000. This seems really low, but for me 10,000 is just too far away. I find aiming for 10,000 demotivating because often I'll find I'm at 3000ish in the evening. But 5000 is doable so I add extra steps in so I get there.

SpringIntoChaos · 20/04/2022 06:59

Starting today...again 😱 I'm so disappointed with myself...I seem to self-sabotage when I am doing well, then it all goes to pot!

Tried on some of last years summer clothes yesterday...nothing fits! I can't afford to buy new so this is hopefully the kick I need to stop the self-sabotage and get back on my weight loss journey 🤞

HerRoyalHappiness · 20/04/2022 07:19

@DuckWithOneWing well done! That's amazing.
@SpringIntoChaos I also self sabotage. It's a nightmare.

I'm 18 stone and want to be 12, it seems like an impossible mountain to climb. I have mobility problems so most exercise is out. I have tried shakes, fasting, nhs weight management, hypnotherapy. I lost a stone last year and and have kept it off but no movement since. I feel myself falling back in to bad habits and it just seems like I can't control it. People joke but I'm genuinely starting to believe that the only solution is to wire my jaw shut. I can't stop eating and I'm literally lost with what to do next. I'm celebrating a small win this morning as I'm sitting eating carrot batons instead of something bad.

HerRoyalHappiness · 20/04/2022 09:23

@TiptowThroughTheToadstools you're here, that's a start. We'll done on the carrot instead of unhealthy foods.

Hi everyone, can I join please?
I started trying to lose weight on New year's Day. This is where I'm at:
SW - 17st 12
CW - 14st 8
GW - 11st 5 (I'm tall)
So far so good but I'm really starting to wobble. I just think it's the feeling of it being never-ending! I've been at it nearly 4 months and I'm half way to my goal which is great but I know it's going to get harder and the weight is going to be much slower to come off now.
Sorry to be negative but just trying to get my motivation going and keep on!
Wishing you all luck

ShinyPikachu · 20/04/2022 10:06

Welcome to everyone joining us. I've not been around too much recently but need to get my head back into things. I've slowly been getting used to going out walking again after having Covid but it's kicked off a horrible fibro flare crossed with some extra back pain for some added fun so I haven't been up for cooking anything which doesn't help. I think I need to bite the bullet and just start tracking calories for everything again even if we still rely on way more takeaways than I'd care to admit. Blush

HerRoyalHappiness · 20/04/2022 13:10

We've got this everyone. We really do. No matter how slow, or how many times we fall off the wagon, we can do this.

Well gained 200g, which is really neither here nor there but still I’m disappointed, I could have lost weight. Frustrating. But I think it’s because I’m on my period, as I never lose weight when I’m on. But nevertheless. I may have just had a tesco wrap and bag of crisps. 800 wasted calories. But anyway this afternoon is another day. I did go to the gym and burn nearly 700 calories. So yay for that.

HerRoyalHappiness · 21/04/2022 15:26

@wombatsandstuff you're on your period, lots of women gain much more than that so don't beat yourself up. It's just your body doing what your body does. Let it run its course and you'll soon be back to losing.

Oh the bookmarks are working on the app for me again finally. It's been a nightmare!

Anyway I weighed in this morning, gained 4.2lb since my last official weigh in then remembered I'm out tonight, tomorrow AND Saturday for food and drinks each day so I'm just going to properly restart on Monday as I don't think it would be a very motivational start for me. Halo

ShinyPikachu · 21/04/2022 16:50

Ok no they're not. It's going back to one I bookmarked a couple of weeks ago. But it's better than them not working at all!

HerRoyalHappiness · 21/04/2022 18:15

@ShinyPikachu that seems a sensible idea. Monday it is. At least you're starting again instead of just giving up completely.

OP posts:
ShinyPikachu · 25/04/2022 12:36

Officially starting again today. I've lost 0.9lb since Thursday somehow despite going out and all the food and alcohol. 😂

I might not always be making the best choices again this week but I'm just making sure I count everything on my app and that's when I can start to think more about the calories in things and pick more carefully.

HerRoyalHappiness · 25/04/2022 13:31

I'll be starting again tomorrow after a tough weekend with DD being unwell again. Tonsillitis and norovirus this time.
