Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/12/2021 11:07

Im 30 and I weigh 19st 7lb.

Ideally I'd like to lose 10st. I'm obese and I hate it.
I started again dieting yesterday.

I can only manage 5000 steps a day due to being disabled, and I do those with a frame.

I'm hopeful that if I lose the weight there'll be less pressure on my already buggered joints.

Anyone else with a lot to lose would you like a daily check in thread with me?

@Blueplan Thankyou got understanding.
I’m totally onboard with being in it for the long haul. It’s just so disheartening when you don’t know what you’re doing wrong Sad

I increased protein and calories last week as per dieticians advice and I felt less hungry but we’ve agreed I’ll drop down to try and speed things up s bit.
If that fails she suggested bloods to see if anything else contributing.

I’m hideously stressed and anxious at the minute so don’t feel like eating much anyway Hmm

How's everyone getting on?

Yay! 2lb 12oz loss this week Grin

Blueplan · 20/03/2022 09:00

1.25lbs loss this week. Another smallish loss, but it's a loss and shows I am heading in the right direction. I am noticing that some clothes are beginning to be noticeably big on me - work colleagues have also begun to notice which is nice. I haven't told them I am trying to lose weight because I then feel very pressured to achieve a loss every week. So it's nice that they are beginning to notice. I am trying to hold off on buying loads of new clothes as I hope I will drop a few more sizes, so I've been raiding the wardrobe for older garments I had 'outgrown'. Luckily I tend to buy fairly classic styles, so even my older clothes don't look particularly dated. Hoping I can get to at least Easter with my golden oldie selection and then maybe pick up some cheapish clothes to get me through the summer term.
How is everyone else this week?

Blueplan · 20/03/2022 09:01

@GreatBigBeautifulTommorow

Yayy! Well done you Grin

ShinyPikachu · 21/03/2022 08:37

1.2lb off this week. That's me back to my starting weight after the horrible gains when I was ill. I haven't been counting my calories at all so that starts again today.

Blueplan · 26/03/2022 11:36

Hi everyone. Very spring like here foday - sunny with a little chill in the air. Hope everyone is well. Weighed this morning and have a 1 1/2 lb loss. Total loss to date is 3st 5 1/2 lbs, so going in the right direction.

Echoes89 · 26/03/2022 19:46

Down to 13st 13lbs this morning so only down 3/4 of a lb but at least it's something. 3st 4lbs down in total

Blueplan · 27/03/2022 11:09

@Echoes89
Every small loss is still a loss in my book. There have been a few weeks where I have 'only' list 1/2lb or 3/4lb, but as far as I am concerned, as long as they come off and stay off long term, that's what really matters. For me, I am taking it slowly as I figure the longer it takes me, the more likely I will have 'embedded' my new relationship with food.

Echoes89 · 27/03/2022 12:55

@Blueplan yes definitely. Keep reminding myself how much heavier I was in August last year and I would've never thought I could lose over 3stone then, fair way to go before I'm down to a weight I'll be happy with. Hoping another 6 months and I'll be closer, crash diets never work for me, need the lifestyle change to be able to maintain the loss

Blueplan · 27/03/2022 14:20

@Echoes89

I'm definitely looking at the long term. I started on 1st August last year and fully expect it will take me at least 2 years before I am where I would like to be. I tend to think in dress sizes, rather than final weight- I know there is a dress size that is good for me, when I don't look too skinny but also not overweight. It's also nice as I gradually discover old favourites at the back of my wardrobe and can begin to wear them again. I am not really a fashionista, more classic styles which are fairly timeless.

HerRoyalHappiness · 27/03/2022 18:58

I fell off the wagon, dragged it into the bushes and set it on fire. Blush
So I'm back starting again in the morning.

@HerRoyalHappiness don't stress about the mistakes. The more you beat yourself up, the easier it is to give up. Tomorrow is a new day, new choices 😊
I haven't had the healthiest of days today to be honest, but doesn't mean the rest of the week can't be
You'll get there

Blueplan · 27/03/2022 21:49

OK, so put the old , broken wagon in a box and chuck it out with the rubbish. A new wagon will arrive for you and this time, the sides will be more secure and won't spring open so easily. Honestly. I've been on and off that bloody wagon so many times in my life, but eventually, I have managed to stay on it and so will you. Flowers
ShinyPikachu · 28/03/2022 14:49

Me too this week @HerRoyalHappiness

I started great and it all went to pot. I've got my period again this week which doesn't help and I just want to eat so much crap. I'm even craving chocolate and I'm not a big chocolate person.

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/03/2022 22:27

Periods suck. I'm due on too which hasn't helped. Today hasn't been great but tomorrow will be better

Ugh. I'm comfort eating. Again. My time with the early intervention service is coming to an end Ince I've finished therapy. But they're not passing me on to anyone else, I'll be GP managed so I've no idea what to do when I'm ready to throw myself in front of a train, except present at a and e, where I'll either end up in the psych ward or they'll send me home with zero help. Neither of those options appeal to me and I shouldn't have to rely on friends and family to support me. MH services suck.

ShinyPikachu · 29/03/2022 19:36

I'm so sorry @HerRoyalHappiness MH services really are so sucky now. I hope you can find something that helps, even if you unload to us if we can support you in any way I hope that would be better than absolutely nothing for you.

ThanksThanksThanks

ShinyPikachu · 30/03/2022 08:42

I tried a sneaky weigh in this morning. I've lost 3.1lb since Monday apparently. I'm still eating the same way (although back to no chocolate cravings). It shows how bloated I was on Monday I guess as that's the exact amount of weight I had apparently gained within a week.

HerRoyalHappiness · 30/03/2022 23:34

Well I'm in hospital with DD. They're going to do a CT scan on her brain in the morning. For now she gets to play on the moving bed.

Un-MNetty hugs @HerRoyalHappiness

How did it go?

DH has finally caught covid. First time ever in our household and I'm feeling sniffly despite sleeping in the spare room so keeping everything crossed I don't get it either. Tests still showing negative for me and both DC at least so hope it stays that way. Healthy eating may go out the door with just whatever we have in the house, thankfully we had just done a big shop so got plenty of stuff for now at least.

HerRoyalHappiness · 31/03/2022 15:05

We're still waiting. It could be tomorrow before she gets the scan.

OP posts:
ShinyPikachu · 31/03/2022 16:43

Oh that's a pain! Sending Thanks and hugs to you. Sad

HerRoyalHappiness · 01/04/2022 15:23

Thanks. She finally had the scan this morning but were still waiting on the results

We're coming home!

Theyre giving her reflux meds to reduce the chance of her being sick and they want me to keep a headache diary and return in 2 months but they think its migraines, we'll find out for definite in clinic in a couple of months.
