Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/12/2021 11:07

Im 30 and I weigh 19st 7lb.

Ideally I'd like to lose 10st. I'm obese and I hate it.
I started again dieting yesterday.

I can only manage 5000 steps a day due to being disabled, and I do those with a frame.

I'm hopeful that if I lose the weight there'll be less pressure on my already buggered joints.

Anyone else with a lot to lose would you like a daily check in thread with me?

@elliejjtiny
Not for egg dipping, but dh is t2 diabetic and controls it by diet. He is very low carb as a result and bread etc is a big no no for him. He makes cloudbread which is made with eggs and other stuff. When cold, it is an OK substitute for bread. Might be worth a try?

HerRoyalHappiness · 31/01/2022 14:14

Doctors today as my urine had become very smelly. I was concerned that I had developed diabetes with being so obese. But it's just a urine infection. A bad one.
I'm apparently nowhere near the levels they'd even consider as pre diabetes so that's some good news!

Well today I've been shopping. Bought some 3% fat mince to make a spag bol with. There's enough for me and the kids and leftovers too.
I love spag bol. Unfortunately DS2 is coeliac and allergic to tomatoes, so what I do is brown off the mince and separate some out for him to have in a cheese sauce with gluten free pasta. Gluten free pasta is surprisingly OK. It doesnt taste like cardboard like the bread does.

Hope the urine infection clears up for you soon @HerRoyalHappiness. I know they can be nasty but at least it's not anything chronic.

Have you tried the Slimming Eats cheeseburger pasta? You could skip the tomatoes and tomato purée in the recipe and then with gluten free pasta could be something for everyone then if the other ingredients are ok?

DD doesn't like tomatoes or ketchup but the small amount of purée in the recipe she can cope with so I skip the fresh tomatoes and the pickles but do everything else the same. (Well apart from guessing at the amounts of spices now, I also add a pinch of celery salt for no other reason than I bought it for one recipe and I'm using it up. 😂)

I'm having one of those days where I just want to snack on junk constantly. Sadly (or should that be fortunately) I had my healthy eating head on when we went shopping so I don't have any junk in the house. Plenty of fruit and yogurt but I don't want any of that. I've had a Skinny Dream bar in the hope that'll keep me happy.

HerRoyalHappiness · 01/02/2022 16:42

I've not tried the cheeseburger pasta. Sounds delicious.
Skinny dreams and skinny whips are my saviours when I'm craving chocolate

Morning, 2.2lb loss for me this week. So it's definitely slowed this week but 2lb loss is still a 2lb loss.
Feeling good about seeing the back of January but glad I've got a month of weight laps under my belt. Next aim is getting my BMI under 35 - that's 9.8lbs away. Today I'm feeling a bit like it's all too much to achieve.
Just trying to keep my motivation going now we're in a new month.
Have a good one ladies x

Well done @Neverknowinglyunderfed :)

I had an awful day yesterday, ended up going to the chippy and the off license and filled myself up with chips and wine.

I'm having one of those days today when I forget to eat. I was doing well at having regular meals so I might need to start setting alarms again. It's quarter to one and I've had half a coffee and nothing to eat today yet. Blush

Thank you 😊 alarms is a great way to get those regular meals in!
HerRoyalHappiness · 02/02/2022 14:36

Definitely set alarms. I've no need ti as my mum phones me daily to remind me to eat breakfast and lunch. I normally eat dinner anyway as I eat with the kids

I was doing fine not needing them any more but everything is just getting on top of me right now and that's when my brain forgets about eating.

I've had something now at least, I had a bowl of cereal just after I posted and I'm going to have a cup a soup soon then be back on track for dinner.

Is anyone here doing Noom? It's one I toyed with trying at one point but something about them really put me off, and I've just read this today. Interesting reading.

HerRoyalHappiness · 02/02/2022 15:51

Ive had a look but I didn't like the look of noom

I've heard bad things about noom...my friend did it and just said it made her feel guilty for eating anything. Very interesting article

lonelynotalone · 02/02/2022 16:12

Am I too late to join? I'm 5ft 5ins and weigh almost 20 stone. It's really getting me down, like today, going shopping with my daughter and not being able to buy any clothes. I've had a look at Team RH too and have signed up.

ShinyPikachu · 02/02/2022 16:14

Never too late to join us. Welcome @lonelynotalone Smile

HerRoyalHappiness · 02/02/2022 17:10

@lonelynotalone welcome. I'm loving team RH. I'm able to eat my favourite foods, eat shite if I want and still lose weight.

DuckWithOneWing · 02/02/2022 17:32

I tried Noom, but didn't really get on with it. The food scanner didn't recognise most of the foods I eat, and the psychological tips weren't anything I hadn't heard elsewhere. There was one that told you to find your ultimate why, but it just kept asking "why?" about 50 times which I didn't find helpful at all.

I'm reporting an 8lbs weightloss for January. I was hoping for 10lbs, but I genuinely didn't think I'd get this far so I'm really happy. Onwards and downwards for February!

lonelynotalone · 03/02/2022 00:30

Thank you Smile

FairyLightQueen · 03/02/2022 10:58

My eating has been awful this week. I've definitely stayed in a calorie deficit but the quality of food I've been eating has been crap. I've had my salad and smoothie bowl but I've also had some marshmallows, some bread, chocolate etc... not good! Not happy.

Week one of this I wasn't very hungry at all so this week (week three) I bought much less and that was obviously a mistake! Have re-adjusted next week's meal plan.

Neverknowinglyunderfed · 03/02/2022 12:24

First really stressful day of the year yesterday and now again today...general neighbour stuff. All I want to do is buy a share bag of chocolate buttons 🙈🙈🙈

HerRoyalHappiness · 03/02/2022 16:24

We've got this everyone. Remember when you're stressed it's just a temporary feeling. And your craving for chocolate or crisps or whatever will pass. And you'll feel worse if you do binge. Try to distract yourself with something else. Colour, draw, write a list of reasons to be healthy etc. Anything to focus you on something else

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 03/02/2022 19:31

I have allergies and when my allergies are uncontrolled I eat. No idea why. I just feel hungry all the time. I've been eating so much crap recently and feel like I've got a permanent cold. To be honest, I just feel like giving up and embracing the fat. Except then I lose mobility and that terrifies me. Now I've discovered that using a CPAP machine can trigger allergies and you need a special filter to counter this. So I changed mine 3 days ago and have been eating properly ever since. Plus my nose tap has turned off. I hope this isn't just a placebo and I can start to make some progress.

ShinyPikachu · 03/02/2022 21:11

Wise words @HerRoyalHappiness

Fingers crossed the filter is what's helping you @BringBackCoffeeCreams Smile

I'm happy with this today. Lunch was more brunch as I slept in, hence the low cals for breakfast and higher that normal at lunch. I've even had a skinny dream, a packet of Quavers and a can of Coke as treats today.

Just need to stick to coffee to drink before bed and not the wine that's in the fridge that's meant to be for the weekend. BlushGrin

Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?
Neverknowinglyunderfed · 04/02/2022 12:07

I'm out for a celebratory meal tonight and I can't lie, I'm looking forward to a few glasses of wine and eating whatever I want from the menu.
It's been really hard on the will power front the last few days so this meal came at the right time. Just need to make sure I don't eat loads of junk on the inevitable hangover tomorrow 🙈

Blueplan · 05/02/2022 10:45

Weigh gin day today. 1 1/2 lbs loss. Happy with that. Total loss so far is 2st 10lbs. Especially pleased as dh birthday this week meant that we ate a bit differently and much later than usual on that day. Thankfully, it doesn't seem to have too much impact. Family are coming tomorrow and we are having a take away - our first in over 2 years. Hooefully, as it is at the start of my 'eating week' I will have managed to reduce the impact of it by next Saturday when I weigh again.
Well done to everybody for this week - whether you've lost, stayed the same or even out on a bit, we are all still making important changes for our future health.
