Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/12/2021 11:07

Im 30 and I weigh 19st 7lb.

Ideally I'd like to lose 10st. I'm obese and I hate it.
I started again dieting yesterday.

I can only manage 5000 steps a day due to being disabled, and I do those with a frame.

I'm hopeful that if I lose the weight there'll be less pressure on my already buggered joints.

Anyone else with a lot to lose would you like a daily check in thread with me?

I also want to lose 10kg. Because I am not feeling well with my heavy weight. Can you please help me here?

HerRoyalHappiness · 20/01/2022 16:37

How can we help @BettyWood ?
In theory calories in vs calories out helps you lose weight but it is easier for some people to follow other plans such as weight watchers, slimming world, low carb, or even a VLCD if that's something you could do.
What are you thinking of doing?

@BringBackCoffeeCreams

Don't skip tea *@HerRoyalHappiness*, it's not good for you. Just eat something light and low calorie if you can. And remind yourself that tomorrow is a new day and you can do this.
I second this *@HerRoyalHappiness*

I'm doing ok today but still don't have time to cook so hopefully I don't end up with a takeaway for the 3rd night in a row, especially since I'm planning on another with a friend in her new house tomorrow. Blush

HerRoyalHappiness · 20/01/2022 20:23

DD just piled a load of Barbies on me and took a photo Blush I look awful
Time to get serious and shift this weight.

You can do it @HerRoyalHappiness.

I accidentally caught sight of myself fully naked today when I was getting changed and I was just thinking back as a teenager when I thought I was fat (and when my "D"M even told me that herself) I wish I'd been more careful then as I would kill to be that size now. I really wasn't fat at all.

Although weirdly I'm probably getting fitter now than I ever was back then thanks to pilates. Just a couple of weeks in and I'm rarely getting the back pain that I was before. Hopefully the more that improves the more I can go out walking now the weather is slowly showing signs of improving (I've cursed that now haven't I? Grin)

Thank you so much for your reply here. Actually, I don't want to use anything except running in the early morning. I see that it has great value and helps to lose weight. What do you think?
HerRoyalHappiness · 21/01/2022 06:19

As long as you're burning more calories than you're eating it should work well. Good luck, we're all here to support each other

Well I took a sneaky look at the scales this morning. Was shocked when I saw 13lb on the pounds side then realised the stones side said 18 and not 19.

Now I just need to not fuck it up over the weekend. GrinBlush

Brilliant news shiny !

DollyDingleberry · 21/01/2022 11:54

@BettyWood 10kgs is only about 1.5 stones so you probably won't find this thread too helpful - everyone here has around 10 times more weight than that to lose so the advice and discussions and support here won't be appropriate.

With 10kgs to lose, you may well be able to shift that with running and no changes to your diet depending how healthy you diet is currently. Best of luck!

WOOOHOOOO!!!!!

It's always ace when you go down a stone bracket! I've done the same - started at 20st 2lbs and I'm at 19st 11 now by day 5 Grin

ShinyPikachu · 21/01/2022 13:54

Thanks all. This has probably been my worst week for food so far as well so I do feel guilty that it may be a good week for me. I think it's the effects of Pilates classes as well as double thinking every time I go to have something to eat. We'll see what the weekend does for me though.

Sorry I missed you out Betty. Welcome although as Dolly says if it's only 10kg rather than 10 stones we might not be able to help quite as much as some of the other weight loss chats.

Dolly - I always seem to start trying to lose just over a stone bracket, the big number must be my catalyst every time when I step on the scales and even though seeing it going down early is great it then feels ages until it goes down again.

With SW I very much got into the habit of "I've had a good week so I'll go out for lunch on my way home for a treat" or "I've had a bad week so I'll have a little treat on the way home and that's me for the week" and that's at least one thing I'm not doing so much just calorie counting at home.

Im really in the mood for a banana sandwich so think I'll have that for my lunch. I'll even mash up the banana and enjoy the white bread and butter with it which wouldn't have been anywhere near on plan for SW. Grin

I've been awful at not having fruit and veg since I started so that's something I will try to get back in the habit of and was definitely the best side of SW as that encouraged me to eat more veg with my dinner.

Thing is though, you’re not losing weight based on the food you ate this week, you’re losing weight based on the average calories you consumed over the last xxx weeks, so you do deserve your loss for running at a calorie deficit for a while now.

Hope everyone is doing ok, threads gone a bit quiet so I’m hoping people are just busy and haven’t given up.

I’m doing much, much better on LCHF. It’s actually feeling like a much better fit now because I’ve remembered belly pork is a thing so I’m no longer reluctant about sticking to it Grin

I had a bit of a headache this afternoon which is normal for day 4-5 of LCHF. It’s a sign I’m moving into ketosis so I’m expecting a bad nights sleep either tonight or tomorrow night. This happens every time I stick to LCHF long enough to get into ketosis. I have this one random night where I can’t get to sleep at all and I’m just wired all night. Apparently it’s a thing and to do with your body panicking and thinking it’s starving due to the lack of instant energy access from carbs. It gives you extra focus and energy for a while to help you find food (Same thing happens with fasting) which makes for a crappy nights sleep! Once you’re ‘fat adapted’ and burning fat consistently (in ketosis) it settles down and that’s usually how I know I’ve transitioned.

This is the really hard bit for me and usually where I struggle. The cravings for sugar are going to get really strong so I need to make sure I’ve got plenty of lovely things in the fridge to stay full and not get hungry..

0.3 kg loss for me this week which is pretty disappointing. It's not even 1 lb.

Idontlikeworms · 22/01/2022 10:58

Si I've gone from 13'13 to 13'7 since the fourth January. Im being good during the week, no wine and having an off plan Saturday seems to be working.

ShinyPikachu · 22/01/2022 11:43

I had way too much wine last night with my friend but we had a great time too at least. I'm going to have to try to get some steps in over the weekend to make up for it I think. I also don't normally snack when I'm drinking but I went through an entire share bag of Nik Naks by myself too. Blush At least there won't be any more drinking this weekend so I can get back on plan.

HerRoyalHappiness · 22/01/2022 13:20

Well despite my few slips I've stayed the same this week. So now to focus and get losing again next week.

I've just celebrated my miniscule loss this week with two enormous slices of stollen.

Tomorrow is a new day!

Blueplan · 22/01/2022 14:51

Hi all. Well done to everybody - those who have lost, those who have stayed the same and even those who have added a bit. It does get hard some weeks and on those weeks, it is still an achievement to stay the sane or even put on a little bit. Whenever that happens to me, I console myself by trying to remember that my 'old self' would have either given up or would have put on even more, but the changes i've made allow me to have the odd slip up without undoing all the good I've already done.
Anyway, weighed in this morning and I'm back to my Christmas Day weight, so a total loss of 2st 7.25lbs. I celebrated with three celebrations that were left from Christmas.

Hey everyone, such a great idea for a thread, l only came across it accidentally.

Can l join, l have lost 9lb since 2nd of Jan. which has taken me to 17st 13lbs l am aiming for 10 stone.

I am doing C25k and l did rejoin ww but l don’t like the new personal points stuff. So instead l have cut out all snacks and sugary foods and fizzy drinks. I would love a bit of support and encouragement l think it’s the only way to get there.

I am 45, have two kids and work full time.

HerRoyalHappiness · 22/01/2022 20:51

@Solongtoshort welcome. Well done on your loss! Thats fab
