Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/12/2021 11:07

Im 30 and I weigh 19st 7lb.

Ideally I'd like to lose 10st. I'm obese and I hate it.
I started again dieting yesterday.

I can only manage 5000 steps a day due to being disabled, and I do those with a frame.

I'm hopeful that if I lose the weight there'll be less pressure on my already buggered joints.

Anyone else with a lot to lose would you like a daily check in thread with me?

I've put on half a pound again but not surprised after yesterday. We're about to leave for the weekend so wish me luck. I'll either not be here or I'll be in here regularly talking about the healthiest thing for dinner being carrots swimming in butter and sugar.

Hope the description helps @HerRoyalHappiness and I really hope it doesn't happen again.

Crowdfundingforcake · 15/01/2022 11:37

Just joining having weighed myself for the first time in months and tipped the scales at 20 and a half stone. My ideal weight is 11.5 but I feel OK around 13. Long way to go Sad. But the longest journey, first steps etc.

Lost 4.5 stone about 7 years ago calorie counting but put it back on and an extra stone for good measure. Now post menopause so I'm sure it's going to be harder to lose this time round but I'm feeling tired, achey, the knees and hips are playing up so I have to do something. DH is hopefully on board - he could do with losing about 3 stone, so back to the calorie counting it is..........

HerRoyalHappiness, that sort of low level loutish behaviour is what makes people's lives stressful and anxious. Hope the police are a bit more interested now there's a description. If it is to do with some kind of stupid social media craze you'd think it would be a simple step for the authorities to request videos be removed. Social media definitely seems to aggravate cultish stupidity.

SparkleWhale, I keep a 250ml glass in the bathroom and every time I go to the loo, I drink a glass of water (one out, one in, so to speak Grin.

I also crochet in the evenings so I have something to concentrate on and something to do with my hands.

Did well yesterday - MFP is recommending 1450 calories and I had about 1300. I find skipping breakfast helps hugely - I'm never hungry in the morning so it seems a bit daft wasting 400 calories when I don't want them.

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 15/01/2022 12:25

I'm extremely happy today. I've somehow managed to lose a pound despite having a couple of medicine induced binges. It's a small loss but I would have been happy just not to have gained.

doubleshotcappuccino · 15/01/2022 16:00

I have had to lose this in the past. The only think that really worked was intermittent fasting, avoiding anything obviously sugary and juices etc and also limited but not zero carbs. I logged it all on to My Fitness Pal and have kept it off . Didn't use any gyms or personal trainers .. use YouTube to do Pilates or yoga .. I don't think it matters what you do as long as you move

Hi all. Been back at work two weeks now and it has been manic, staff and kids off with Covid and having to switch my timetable around to cover where children have been left without their 1:1. I think I've done at least an hour extra every night, just writing safeguarding/behaviour reports and so on. Anyway, enough moaning. I weighed last week, first time since Christmas day, and had put on 4lb over the holiday. Today I have dropped by 2lb, so hopefully next week will be back to Christmas day weight. I'm happy with that - I am very good in the week, but more relaxed at weekends. I did have a couple of extras this week - we finished up the last of the box of chocs we had at Christmas.
For those who have tried low cal/low fat ready meals, I have found the tesco own brand to be quite decent. If I have something like cottage pie, I add some veg to it to help fill me up.

HerRoyalHappiness · 15/01/2022 20:36

Well done on the losses

Door kickers have been back. 2 girls this time so there's obviously a group of them targeting my address. Again logged with the police.
Police are looking into getting me a dummy CCTV camera to deter them

But instead of comfort eating because im stressed out like I have done the last couple of nights I'm being good.

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 15/01/2022 20:48

So you know why they're targetting you? That must be very frightening. I'd be terrified.

HerRoyalHappiness · 15/01/2022 20:58

@BringBackCoffeeCreams I'm guessing its because I'm disabled, so I can't get to the door to catch them. Everyone on the estate sees me walking with a frame. They're clearly big tough gangsters targeting a disabled single mother of 3 and terrifying an 8 year old little girl. Hmm

Checking in for the first time in a while.

I'm loving exante. I'm 7lb down as of this morning. I'm waiting on a big order from them. Been feeling more energised, not felt hungry but my gut is clearly making some adjustments as it's 'chatty'.

I've been tracking which meal replacements I do and don't like and definitely more in the like column by far. Not everyone is being supportive, they think it's too extreme. But I did months of research into what would be best for me.

RunningInTheWind · 16/01/2022 13:43

My weigh in is tomorrow - don’t think I’ve lost anything this week but I’m going to blame the abx I’m on.

At least I’ve not fallen face-first into a cake.

I definitely feel a trifle (badoom tish) leaner as my face doesn’t seem quite as bloated and the dressing gown of doom ties better.

RunningInTheWind · 16/01/2022 13:45

longingfor seriously, fuck them. We’re all doomed. Everyone wants us to lose weight - tell them what plan we’re on and it’s “nooooo, not like that”.

I no longer explain - I simply say “I’m being careful about what I eat” which is not a lie.

I'm not letting them stop me. I'm going to beat this. I've tried ww, slimming world, slim fast, NHS, fast800, keto, Atkins, IF, etc etc etc. The list is endless. This is working. Say goodbye to your fat 'friend' who made you feel better about yourself because at least you weren't me.
HerRoyalHappiness · 17/01/2022 07:41

It's a new week. How are we all doing?
I've put on 2lb
But I've been comfort eating and not tracking.

Just half a pound down for me this week - but I’ll take it.

ShinyPikachu · 17/01/2022 09:16

I survived the weekend. Just. Meal out (afternoon tea so not many opportunities to be good but everything tasted amazing at least 😁), evening takeaway and then yesterday my DM's cooking (where the healthiest things were sugar snap peas fried and drowned in butter.) So much wine I didn't even try to count that. Cake, waffles, shortbread, massive puddings covered in cream (but it's "healthy" in DM's eyes because there's a sugar-covered strawberry or two.)

But I've lost 0.6lb for my official weekly weigh in this week. I'm still 1.4 up overall but very happy with that considering I didn't count a thing over the last two days.

No more birthday celebrations for around 6 weeks now and then it's only one birthday a month until August (and none of them are big ones like the two we've just had) so I have no excuse now.

Being back to pilates is definitely helping me although every time I stood up this weekend it was accompanied by a yelp of "Ow, my hamstrings!" 🤣

ShinyPikachu · 17/01/2022 09:48

Ooh my new measuring tape arrived. Bit fiddly at times and the tape didn't always want to sit properly when I was doing my chest and hips (kept sliding off) but i got there and I'll get used to it. The button to draw the tape in isn't the best so I might end up breaking it just by pushing it too hard. It didn't cost too much so I guess you get what you pay for.

I also don't know if I should measure my tum separately to my hips. There is a good bit of overhang but if I start to lose weight there then they'd definitely be two different measurements in time. The app I use doesn't have a tum one, just waist and hips and I measured my hips under my tum today so I'll have to take note elsewhere if I do that.

elliejjtiny · 17/01/2022 11:37

Hi everyone. Stayed the same this week. Dc3's birthday on Wednesday so we had mcdonalds and then I got a cold so self medicated with hot buttered toast Sad. So now feeling sorry for myself. Dc3 now has covid and now I'm scared that I'll get it really badly because I'm fat. Managed to get my bmi from 56 to 48 over the last 2 years but still a long way from getting it under 40.

HerRoyalHappiness · 17/01/2022 12:06

@elliejjtiny if it helps, I've had it 3 times and only once was bad, but not bad enough for me to need the hospital
Fingers crossed you don't get it or if you do you get a mild case.

Hello ladies, start of a brand new week. Well done to everyone. We all have to live life and ai just don't want to be the person to refuse birthday cake if there's a party!
My son had one of his friend's birthday parties this weekend. I had a small piece but apart from that I think I've done ok. Not weighing until Wednesday so will update then.
Finding checking all your messages really comforting. All my friends are slim so can often feel I'm the only one going thru this IRL

DollyDingleberry · 17/01/2022 14:26

Slinks back in

So weight watchers DEFINITELY doesnt work for me - 2 weeks sticking religiously to the plan and I'm exactly the same weight as I was on day 1.

It's PCOS that's the problem. I need to realise I'm just not going to react the same way to carbs as other people and just accept that I have to go back to low carb to lose weight. There isn't an alternative.

So from today I'm back on low carb, high fat and extremely grumpy about it.

B: Double cream coffee
L: Chicken kebab & Salad
D: Shepards 'pie' (no potato for me - boooooo)

Bah humbug and all that. Not that I can eat humbugs. Bah.

HerRoyalHappiness · 17/01/2022 15:45

@DollyDingleberry at least you now know what works for you and you can adjust to suit. Weight watchers doesn't work for me either.

OP posts:
BringBackCoffeeCreams · 17/01/2022 17:41

WeightWatchers works for me but only because I follow their weekly menu plan. If I were counting points and choosing my own foods, with unlimited zero points food, it'd be a disaster. I need the structure and the limits on portion size.

ShinyPikachu · 17/01/2022 19:36

Well I did well until I ended up in Wetherspoons tonight. Had a topped chips and a large wine. I did technically save a few calories as DH stole some of my chips but I had to tell him off as he kept taking all the ones with the cheese and bacon on them and if I'm going to count all those calories I want the good chips from the bowl. Grin

Pilates tonight was a tough class thankfully and I got a bit of walking in too. I'll need to walk the dog later too so I'll maybe get enough calories back to have another coffee without going over.

Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?
HerRoyalHappiness · 17/01/2022 19:41

Well done @ShinyPikachu

I've done really well today. I haven't binged and I feel really good about it.
I've been having a really difficult time lately, (I have a thread in mental health) and I've struggled but today has felt more manageable overall.

Yep. I LOVED the plan, it’s just not suitable for people with PCOS. It’s such a shame because low carb is hard and I was hoping to avoid it Sad
