Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/12/2021 11:07

Im 30 and I weigh 19st 7lb.

Ideally I'd like to lose 10st. I'm obese and I hate it.
I started again dieting yesterday.

I can only manage 5000 steps a day due to being disabled, and I do those with a frame.

I'm hopeful that if I lose the weight there'll be less pressure on my already buggered joints.

Anyone else with a lot to lose would you like a daily check in thread with me?

The other day I discovered the instant pot has a kebab accessory.... today I discovered the only meal I plan to eat until I die of chicken tikka poisoning.

Dinner at Dolly’s then!

ShinyPikachu · 10/01/2022 19:38

All round to Dolly's for sure. Grin

I really did enjoy being back at pilates. With all the issues with DD recently I really haven't had the time to do anything for just me and I truly didn't realise how much I missed it.

Those scales must have spurred me on this morning. I also bought strawberry doughnuts and chocolate pancakes both marked down in Morrisons and I'm not tempted by either. Doughnuts are my one sweet addiction normally too.

Meals today have been:

Breakfast: Bowl of cornflakes with semi-skimmed milk and a bit of sugar on top

Lunch: Ham and salad sandwich with a Laughing Cow light blue cheese triangle spread on the bread*

Dinner: Lettuce and tomato salad with reduced sugar sweet chilli sauce, then a WW beef lasagne.

I haven't been tempted to snack at all today so I have 10 calories there from using a cold infusions bag in a bottle of water for pilates and that's it. I think adding salads to my meals has definitely helped with that today and I have apples to snack on later if I want something crunchy.

I think I'm going to treat myself to a large glass of wine tonight too though. I've still got absolutely loads of calories left for today so one glass while reading later will still leave me with loads left. Smile

I also erred on the side of caution adding my pilates as exercise to the app. I definitely used to be more at an intermediate/medium intensity level but it was a gentler class today and I definitely didn't do as much as I would have done before so I put it down as an hour of light intensity instead. I would rather do that and get fewer calories back than overestimate what I did and decide to eat loads more. I think there's about a 100 calorie difference for the hour and that could add up to a lot of extra calories if I overestimate what I do.

Definitely dinner at dollys Grin

I really enjoyed my wine last night. Wouldn't normally drink on a school night either but I'd had such a good day yesterday, DH got home from work early so we watched a couple of recorded shows together which is a rarity nowadays with his shifts. Even after a couple of glasses I still had loads of calories left and I slept really well last night so don't know if it was the exercise or alcohol or both.

My sore back is so much better today so hopefully that's the pilates helping me out already. I haven't even had any painkillers yet and I can walk around the house rather than hobbling like a much older woman.

Weighing half a pound less than yesterday so only 1.5lb up now. Fingers crossed for Monday's official weigh in if I keep this up. Smile

RunningInTheWind · 11/01/2022 08:43

I went to bed feeling ever so slightly hungry but it was far too late to scavenge and I figured I’d probably not expire in the night due to lack of bodily reserves…

Weather not quite as horrendous today so will head up into the hills with the pooch I think.

HerRoyalHappiness · 11/01/2022 08:56

Good morning. Despite my hungry day yesterday I've lost 0.1 of a lb this morning. Not much but heading in the right direction

I've been a bit quiet here but I've lost about half a pound. I'm quite disappointed. I've been lazy and I've binged.

Saxenda pen arriving today so hopefully next Monday's weigh in is a bigger loss if it does help with appetite suppression.

HerRoyalHappiness · 11/01/2022 10:01

Fingers crossed for you @SparkleWhale

I had a great birthday and ate a lot of cake but now I'm ready to get back on plan! Even with pretty much taking the weekend off I've had a decent loss of 2lbs this week so that's given me motivation to see what I can achieve over the next week.

No @elliejjtiny I'm unfortunately not famous. I just got tickets to see one of my favourite TV shows being filmed, and then featured in a lot of the audience shots!

vanillacupcake19 · 11/01/2022 18:45

Lost 1.5lb first week ( very disappointed) and
3lb off this week
Total loss to date - 4.5lbs.

Slow but going in the right direction at the moment - just have to keep myself motivated 💪🏼

HerRoyalHappiness · 11/01/2022 19:26

@vanillacupcake19 any loss is a step in the right direction! Slow and steady wins the race as they say.

Thanks HRH - I will keep coming back to support on this thread to keep me on track.

We WILL do this!!!

ShinyPikachu · 11/01/2022 19:50

Well done on the losses. Smile

Feeling happy with food today, had a couple of treats but still within my calories. Will likely have a couple more coffees later but they're only 20 cals each at least.

Morning all!

Another half a pound off this morning so definitely hopeful for next week if I don't mess up at the weekend.

I think I feel a difference in my waist but I haven't done measurements yet. I couldn't find my inch tape so I've ordered one from Amazon. It's one you wrap around and slot the end into a box and it tightens up itself so I thought that would be handier in the long run and you won't have me pulling the tape really tight to try and see a difference. Grin

HerRoyalHappiness · 12/01/2022 11:51

@ShinyPikachu Grin I think I need one of those tapes!

I'm down half a pound today too. I'm dropping about half a pound every couple of days. Which will do me just fine Grin

I weighed myself this morning as it's my birthday meal tonight and don't want to weigh tomorrow morning!
I've lost 4.5lbs in 6 days.
Really happy with that.
Well done to all you ladies. It's not easy.

HerRoyalHappiness · 12/01/2022 14:08

@Neverknowinglyunderfed that's amazing! Well done. Also happy birthday, hope you have a lovely time tonight

@HerRoyalHappiness Well done. Those halves all add up!

@Neverknowinglyunderfed Well done!!! And enjoy your meal. Smile

This is the sort of inch tape I've bought. I saw an ad on FB for one and thought it looked good but went to Amazon instead for one that was cheaper but would also arrive sooner. I thought it might have been here by now annoyingly.

Thanks ladies 😀
Gonna try and be a bit sensible but have a bit of a treat too

Idontlikeworms · 13/01/2022 09:26

Morning, I've been quiet but it's weigh day. Started at just under13'13, I'm now 13'9. So that's 4 lbs. I'm seeing my best friend today for the first time in months due to covid and we are doing lunch. I'm studying the menu but I just want nice meal and a pudding!. I wont be out for another meal for a few months. I feel so blooming guilty, thinking ill put the 4lbs back on 😔

ShinyPikachu · 13/01/2022 09:43

Morning all!

Well done @Idontlikeworms! I'd say if it's such a one off then go enjoy your meal today and have what you want. If you stick to whatever plan you're following the rest of the time then I doubt you would gain that much back, if anything, and even if you did get a small gain you know it's a one off and you'll be back on track next week. Smile

Another half pound off today for me. So while I had the 2lb gain on Monday that's me only half a pound over what I started at now. I know so many groups etc say not to weigh daily but it's definitely helped me a lot this week after the disappointing "official" weigh in.

There is another caterpillar cake in the house for the other birthday coming up though. I need to resist this one more than the last one. BlushGrin

Hi everyone so sorry I’ve been letting myself down - not completely falling into my old habits (I’ve tried really hard not to snack in evenings and last couple of days had a biscuit and an orange, I scarily find myself secretly eating while DH putting kids to bed). So I just feel like I need some sort of therapy - i then restrict during the day I feel like I’m bit hungry so I don’t eat until like 1-2pm. It’s just so unhealthy

ShinyPikachu · 13/01/2022 12:54

Un-mumsnetty hugs @RenGreen Thanks

I think the most important thing is that you're noticing your patterns and know where you're slipping up and that's the first step towards making changes that hopefully stick. If you think the therapist is the way to go for you then go for it, it could be just what you need to kick any changes into action for you.

And no need to feel bad over it either, no-one is perfect. I find the evenings hard too so I've still had some snacks then but I just limit myself (whereas before I probably wouldn't have) and the orange sounds like a great choice if you're needing something then, even if you have a big stash of them for now. I just make sure I count it as my calories, even on the days I go over. Ignoring it because it's "just one wee thing" is how I fall back into not caring what I eat. Different things work for different people and hopefully you find something that works for you, whatever it is. Smile

I'm actually really bad at forgetting to eat. I don't do it on purpose but the days I don't make myself eat to a basic schedule are the ones I'll slip up on. I've even set alarms to remind me to eat, I don't know if that's something that would work for you? I'm never hungry when I wake up which doesn't help as I used to often skip breakfast. Now I'm making sure I have something every day, even if it's a small bowl of cornflakes. And I'm definitely snacking less through the day as a result.
