Hi, here's the new thread for November.

Starting out at 8st9.75 this month. Obviously not a normal month. Personal aim is to eat more healthily and get my energy back.

Up 2lb after yesterday - so 10/10. I know it’s just water and it is interesting seeing the fluctuations, whereas previously I would have been really upset.

Octopus37 · 21/11/2021 16:25

I didn't weigh myself today, haven't ate well over the last few days, but tbh not feeling 100%. I just want carbs, steps 8,200 today. Might try and take the dog out again to up it a bit. Sounds as if everyone's doing really well.

After so much crap, my only way out is to eat a lot of good food at my meals so cals were out the window but otherwise a gokd enough food and activity day.
Porridge with banana, mandarin and cappuccino
Chilli with sour cream and cheese, large portion
Beef stew wuth small portion mash
A 3 mile walk and an hour in the pool with dc
Plenty of water
Sitting down with a super book now.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 21/11/2021 23:46

I’ve not left the house today so only 6,000 steps. Not great food-wise either tbh:

Brunch - Fred egg sandwich
Snack - two rice cakes with peanut butter
Dinner - two slices of the Asda giant pig in blanket (this was amazing!), lots of broccoli, roast potatoes. Two stollen cookies.

I used to always weigh on a Wednesday (I don’t work on a Wednesday) and never in between. Maybe I should go back to that rather than daily.

Octopus37 · 22/11/2021 07:33

8st12.25 this morning. I didn't eat well yesterday but my steps were a bit better, just over 11,000. I went out for a late night dog walk with DH which helped. Got DS2 off school ill today. Planning on getting a lot of work done.

I didn’t eat very well over the weekend!
My plan for this week is eating between 11am-7pm, no chocolate/crisps etc Mon-Fri, 3 meals no snacks, lots of water and as many steps as possible!
Hope you all have a good Monday

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 22/11/2021 08:21

I do find the twice weekly weigh rather than daily suits me anyway judy, keeps me at for a stretch rather than good days, bad days. That said I feel like pushing my Tues to weds this week!
Usual aims for me: 3 meals, no junk, all of the water and a 10pm bedtime. I am still feeling the ill effects of so much crap on Saturday so that should keep me on track.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 22/11/2021 08:25

You sound in great form octopus, great to get the steps in, helps my form overall. Lbb, we're on a similar plan!

LadyDanburysHat · 22/11/2021 09:46

Well done @NutellaEllaElla on the running. Slowly is the way to start. I'm hoping to get back into running once I lose a little more weight. I am not a natural runner by any means and never fast.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses great step count on Friday. It's hard to do it every day though.

I am 11st 8.7 this morning. A lot of good eating at the weekend. And I only managed the gym once last week. Although I swam 3 times, but my swims are not too long.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 22/11/2021 10:53

10/9 here today. I feel like I am getting a cold, bleurgh.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 22/11/2021 21:06

Hope you are feeling OK Judy. Logging for the day, feeling pleased. I was tempted and actually planning to self sabatoge briefly earlier but it passed pretty quickly thankfully. (Someone left biscuits and chocolate on my desk in work Shock)
Blueberries, kiwi and Greek yoghurt, cappuccino
Chicken with red pesto, cream and feta
Spag bol with cheddar and broccoli
Water ok. Will weigh tomorrow tho I feel like waiting, will face the truth! Grin

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 23/11/2021 07:17

So disappointed! Sad Upn1. 75lbs to 9st 3.25, can't believe that after one awful day on Sat.. Hopefully can turn back by Friday but such a setback is annoying. All organised for the day ahead. Three meals, no junk, water, bed at 10pm.

Octopus37 · 23/11/2021 07:39

Hope you are feeling better @Judystilldreamsofhorses. @HeyGirlHeyBoy dont worry I bet its water retention, fluctuations can be weird. Steps were awful for me yesterday and when I went on a dog walk, I forgot my phone which doesn't help. Food all carby cause I was working from home. Not weighing today. One day at a time

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 23/11/2021 07:45

Thanks octopus. There's no way I had enough extra cals to make up that amount but i did up portions Sun to keep me on straight and narrow so that's probably effecting things too.

LadyDanburysHat · 23/11/2021 08:28

@HeyGirlHeyBoy I'm sure it will be water retention and sort itself out.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses I hope it doesn't come to much and you feel better soon.

I am 11st 7.5 today after fasting yesterday. I have Wednesday as my official weigh in day, as it is 2 days after fasting, but not after the weekend. I am also having to do best of 3 on my scales as they seem to give very different amounts sometimes.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 23/11/2021 08:36

Thanks. I really appreciate the reassurance as I was delighted with 9st1.25 on Fri and thought I might hit 9 this week.. Now I'll be lucky to get back to last Fri!!

LBB2020 · 23/11/2021 10:10

Hope you’re feeling better soon @Judystilldreamsofhorses
I forgot to wear my Fitbit over the weekend which was annoying!
Food ok yesterday although I did eat after 7pm, definitely didn’t come close to hitting my steps as WFH.
Don’t be disheartened @HeyGirlHeyBoy it will just be water, keep at it you’re doing so well!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 23/11/2021 12:22

I didn't weigh today (progress!) and managed just to sneak in 10,000 steps yesterday. My cold doesn't seem to have come to much but tbh I would rather have it now than over Christmas or when DP is away next month. It will definitely be fluid, @HeyGirlHeyBoy, and this is partly why I need to stop weighing daily!

Today I have had porridge, chicken noodle soup, and tonight is pasta with peas, pesto, and goats cheese.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 23/11/2021 20:53

Sounds lovely Judy! Logging for the day, another good one thankfully.
Ono with cappuccino
Nutty broccoli egg fried rice
Breaded fish and some cubed potatoes. Could have done with more veg today but just one of those rushed dinners in the end.
Hope everyone is well.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 24/11/2021 00:08

Well done on a good day, @HeyGirlHeyBoy

I did 11,000 steps today which isn’t bad for a WFH day with just a 20 minute lunchtime walk. Dinner ended up being so nice! I cooked a load of broccoli and peas, about half as much pasta, then mixed it with pesto and grated mozzarella, topped with sliced goats cheese, and baked in the oven.

Also. I realised I need to be kinder to myself. Maybe we all should? I might be a bit over my ideal weight but I am in the healthy BMI zone, and wearing a size 10. I feel like I talk really negatively to myself, and if a friend spoke about herself like that I would be on her like a tonne of bricks. It has been a terrible, awful, life changing time - and as well as the pandemic my DP was made redundant which was horribly stressful. (He’s got a great job again now, thankfully, but bloody hell, we have been through the mill.) So a few pounds is NOT the end of the world.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 24/11/2021 07:07

Judy, you are so right. I'm going to reread your post, it is absolutely bang on the money. Star
Have three lovely meals ahead for myself today, lots of water and an hour's tennis. Lots of self care in there.

LBB2020 · 24/11/2021 07:27

You are right @Judystilldreamsofhorses! I’m in the healthy range for BMI, I had my second baby during the pandemic and I have a child with additional needs, being 7lbs heavier than “normal” really should be bottom of my list of things to worry about! Definitely going to focus on looking after myself with good healthy food, lots of water and exercise when possible

Octopus37 · 24/11/2021 07:37

@Judystilldreamsofhorses sounds as if you've had a rough time. You're so right though, overall its been a hard couple of years. By the way your dinner sounds lush, might try and make the same thing at some point.

@LBB2020 as I've said before, I think you do amazingly. 7 pounds is absolutely nothing on the grand scheme of things.

I'm trying to take this on board myself. I'm focusing on maintenance these days, cause realistically (given age, lifestyle etc), I dont think I'm likely to lose much more weight. 8st12.5 this morning. My BMI is healthy so I'm just going to try to focus on that.

LBB2020 · 24/11/2021 09:42

You have done fantastic @Octopus37 and by the sounds of things have had a lot on your plate with your Dad being ill and you catching Covid! We all do need to be nicer to ourselves and focus on keeping healthy (and in doing so we will maybe drop a few of the lbs we’ve been focusing on!)

NutellaEllaElla · 24/11/2021 10:34

Hi, good to see people doing well. Hear hear to being kinder to ourselves. I need some TLC as things have been hard at work. I lost my appetite yesterday (unheard of for me! I usually comfort eat but I was so anxious I felt sick). Still struggling today but starting to feel a bit better. My cat is being velcro kitty which helps. I started designing a website to begin setting up a private practice. I know we've got a lot of teachers on here, I work in the NHS and I think it has a similar feel to it and it's the bloody system that burns you out, not the patients.
