Hi, here's the new thread for November.

Starting out at 8st9.75 this month. Obviously not a normal month. Personal aim is to eat more healthily and get my energy back.

Polite request. Can we avoid saying a weight is terrible or gross etc? It’s obviously not nice to ourselves but it’s also not nice for people who weigh considerably more than that who are losing and trying to feel good about their progress 🙏

12:12.3 so definitely going in the right direction again. After October staying the same I’d really like to bank some solid progress this month.

LadyDanburysHat · 03/11/2021 08:23

Morning all

I am another pound down today which means I've now lost 1.5 stones, so this feels quite celebratory. Still a long way to go, but I'm back to making progress.

It is also the first time my weight has not gone back up after a first none fast day.

LBB2020 · 03/11/2021 09:29

@TheHoneyBadger I agree and apologies if I have been guilty of this or offended anyone.
Fantastic @LadyDanburysHat Smile you should feel celebratory and pleased with yourself!
At @Octopus37 and @Judystilldreamsofhorses you both managed more steps than I did! Only just scraped 7,000 steps and that with the school run and drop off to the childminder (admittedly I live in a small village so nowhere is more than a few minutes walk!)
I’m not weighing today, am going to do Monday and Friday I think. Good day yesterday keeping track of food on MyFitnessPal and also day 2 of doing a short 12 minute core strengthening YouTube video hopefully will keep it up again today (WFH again today). Have a great day everyone x

LadyDanburysHat · 03/11/2021 09:33

Steps is the one thing I struggle with. With wfh , if I don't go to the gym or out for a specific walk I can easily only manage 2000 steps in a day. It is one of the worst things about wfh. I could easily not leave the house for days if I didn't make the effort.

LBB2020 · 03/11/2021 12:55

I agree @LadyDanburysHat! I’ll hopefully be able to make up for it over the rest of the week (I work part time), fingers crossed for dry weather!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/11/2021 16:44

I’ve spent the day in bed with a migraine - so not enough steps but at least not eaten much.

TheHoneyBadger · 03/11/2021 17:49

I struggle with steps as well. Today was a work day and I walked to and from school and around on my feet at school and I'm still under 5000 steps currently. I've tended to use the calories burned as my goal rather than steps throughout my weight loss. I'm at 1688 calories at the minute with a goal of burning 2000 so on track despite being nowhere near the recommended steps advised.

Busy day today with work, attendance at an online seminar for an hour and a half after work and trying to get some basic chores like laundry done. Pretty done in now. Have a jacket potato cooking and have some leftover bolognese sauce that I cooked yesterday in case I get hungry.

Day off tomorrow and may try and cook a stew - definitely in need of a big veg boost.

sparklyglitterball · 03/11/2021 21:34

Evening all, just popping back onto the thread post half term fun, involving wine, cake etc. Luckily I've only gained 1lb, so feeling fairly positive. Sounds as though everyone is making progress! I think I've list and regained the same 2/3lb in October, but at least it's not a gain overall I guess! My aims for November are loads of water, fill half my plate with salad or vegetables at dinner time, no booze during the week and try to reduce carbs a little. Hope you're all ok Smile

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 04/11/2021 08:44

Hi all, going OK here overall with a few post Halloween sweets still hanging around which is a bit painful. Doing well for water and bedtimes and selfcare. Unfortunately not sleeping great. Will weigh tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed!

LadyDanburysHat · 04/11/2021 08:44

Back up to 11st 11.3 this morning, but today is another fast day. However I have taken a side on photo today and can really see a difference. Stomach is looking flatter, and I look generally smaller. It has really given me a boost.

@sparklyglitterball 1lb is pretty good for half term. I gained way more than that in ours.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/11/2021 10:52

I'm 10/7 this morning. I usually sit around 10/3 or 10/4, go up to 10/7 in the summer holidays (I'm a lecturer so off for six weeks) and then drop down again when I go back to work. I have maintained 10/7ish since LAST summer. I'm back teaching on campus two days a week now but we have definitely gotten into bad habits at home since lockdowns. Now DP is back in the office I am doing better during the day at least. I'm not a snacker, but we became very focussed on food last year - planning, shopping, eating - because there was nothing else to look forward to!

@LadyDanburysHat that's great that you can see the difference. I think clothes can be a much better "measure". I have become obsessed with weighing myself every morning and I know it is really not useful, as seen by Monday's massive jump. I'm able to be logical about it now and know it is unlikely I have gained 4lb of actual fat in two days, but at the beginning it really messed with my head. But I couldn't stop.

NutellaEllaElla · 04/11/2021 13:38

Water has fallen off my priorities, I'm hoping it can come back but wanted to remind others.

LBB2020 · 04/11/2021 15:35

After 2 good days I massively over ate yesterday and it was all rubbish! I was so hungry all day! Today hasn’t been the best as I’m off work so took the DC to see my mum and aunt (big lunch followed by cake!) but I’m determined to do a longer exercise video tonight to balance it out!

TheHoneyBadger · 04/11/2021 18:14

Water Nutella!

Thanks for the reminder.

Exhausted and spent much of my day off in bed today. Will look at scales tomorrow but attempt not to be disheartened if I’ve gone up a bit.

Should be a busy day tomorrow to make up for today.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 05/11/2021 07:43

No surprise here, my wonderful loss has been lost. I'm 9st 5 but I'm still 2.5lhs down on starting weight two weeks ago so I won't be deterred. I know I can do a lot better. Only about 3 really good days. Onwards and downwards. Water, skin, teeth, bedtime and no junk today and I have to stick to the latter!! Happy Friday all!

TheHoneyBadger · 05/11/2021 07:55

Morning. 12:11.6 which is possibly a new low and took me by surprise.

I doubt you really have regained as much as you think heygirl. Could just be a heavy day. Stay with the rational x

TheHoneyBadger · 05/11/2021 07:56

Apologies for the kiss 🙈 forgot where I was

NutellaEllaElla · 05/11/2021 08:08

I'm a little disappointed in my progress too. Technically 1lb down on the higher number I saw last week but I did see this weight at the time as well.

Octopus37 · 05/11/2021 08:28

@Judystilldreamsofhorses hope you are feeling better. A bit of a funny week here, I'm still trying to get my energy back. Had pizza the last two days so 8st11.5 this morning. Happy bonfire night all

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 05/11/2021 08:47

Well done Honeybadger, delighted for you! Glad you're getting back to yourself Octopus. Nutella, fingers crossed for a better number for us both next week!

LBB2020 · 05/11/2021 09:44

10st5lbs here again this morning which I’ll take as I’ve had 2 pretty unsuccessful days where I’ve massively overeaten and not got in more than 7,000 steps! DC2 has decided he no longer likes to sleep between the hours of 12am and 2am Hmm I’m shattered especially as I started back to work this week so I’m reaching for quick fix sugary foods. Need to sort that out and get some exercise in over the weekend while DH is here to keep an eye on the children. Happy Friday everyone Smile

LadyDanburysHat · 05/11/2021 10:12

Well done @TheHoneyBadgerand @LBB2020.

After a fast day I'm down to 11st 9.2. Seeing these drops in weight is so motivating to keep going. I did find yesterdays fast day tough, but I kept reminding myself I would be able to eat today. I'm so surprised and thrilled that this is working for me.

LBB2020 · 05/11/2021 11:07

Brilliant @LadyDanburysHat glad 5:2 is working for you! It’s meant to have a lot of health benefits as well!

LadyDanburysHat · 05/11/2021 11:42

@LBB2020 thank you. It is nice to hear of health benefits too. I am really liking that I am able to have some treats on my normal days. It helps make it not so miserable trying to lose weight.

NutellaEllaElla · 05/11/2021 17:10

On the plus side, my skin is beautiful. It really does break out after i've eaten more fatty and/or sugary foods. I can have some, but not too much it seems. More motivation to avoid ridiculous binges in future.
