Hi, here's the new thread for November.

Starting out at 8st9.75 this month. Obviously not a normal month. Personal aim is to eat more healthily and get my energy back.

I wouldn't be able to resist an orange choc donut either!! But does your dh know you're trying to cut down? I have told dh here not to buy me anything and to hide what he has himself, so much easier if it's not in the house, takes away the option.
Logging:
Porridge on milk with bananas and blueberries
Creamy chicken and feta with rocket
Fish, cubed potatoes and veg (I think!!)

Hey ladies, I've been catching up on the thread, and feeling very inspired by your losses and lovely sounding menus. I'm doing a version of 16:8, sometimes a with longer eating window to suit social plans etc. I've been stuck in a rut of losing a couple of pounds then regaining it again, and so I've decided not to weigh for a while and just focus on how I feel, enjoying clothes being looser and less bloating etc.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 17/11/2021 22:31

Sounds like me sparklyglitteryball, including the losing and gaining.. I am definitely feeling slighter now, was out playing tennis in my sports gear tonight, definitely clothes fitting better Smile Definitely leaving time between meals/eating is a revelation. I'm not fasting, well I am 7-7, but not as a fast but the three meals are sometimes v well spaced and I'm not hungry, whereas if i had snacked I'd be hungry Confused anyway a day at a time and will allow some homemade stuff (husband is a Baker) on Fri. Let's see.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 18/11/2021 07:34

Feeling great this morning, going to get some extra cals in to avoid cravings after a 2300 cal burn yesterday. Managed almost 3L water yesterday and still feeling could have done with more..
3 meals, no junk, water, water, water, bed by 10.30 latest! Have a good day all.

Octopus37 · 18/11/2021 07:48

Well done @HeyGirlHeyBoy. I weighed this morning, 8st12, I'm quite pleased with that as I didn't do enough steps yesterday and I haven't been eating healthily this week cause I've not felt great. Busy work day today, I'll try and get some healthy bits in and improve my steps.

LadyDanburysHat · 18/11/2021 08:59

@HeyGirlHeyBoy sounds liek you had a good day yesterday. I'm down to 11st 8.5 this morning. I'm still not feeling great, but today is a fast day, and it will probably do me good.

TheHoneyBadger · 18/11/2021 12:14

Hi. 12:8 today. Have managed to burn over 2000 cals everyday so far this week but I'm super tired today and finally having a day off that is an actual day off.

I've had my birthday this week so have been fitting more in being taken out and things which is lovely but I've missed having a quiet day in where I can really rest from the world and today I just want my bed and little errands around the house.

Thinking of making a bolognese and serving ds's with spag and mine just with green veg this evening.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 18/11/2021 19:49

Logging for another day! Smugly drinking a pot of chamomile tea here and finally having an evening with nothing on and can relax.
Strawberries, kiwi and Greek yoghurt and cappuccino
Ratatouille with kidney beans, ratatouille, hummus and guacamole (colleagues told me I looked like I was having a three course meal Grin).
Chilli with basmati, sour cream and cheddar.
8k steps and an hour of 'swimming' with the dc. Almost the weekend!!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/11/2021 20:52

I’ve done 17,000 steps so far today but still weigh 10/8. DP forgot to bring the lunch he made to work, so I ended up eating his cheese, ham and pickle roll, but I skipped breakfast. Dinner was a ham and cheese omelette with a huge salad, but also some crusty bread, followed by a mince pie. So not a huge success today!

sparklyglitterball · 18/11/2021 21:39

@HeyGirlHeyBoy I think your approach of cutting out all junk is really healthy. That's what I should really be doing! I had porridge with raspberries and nuts at lunchtime, dinner was pasta with spinach, creme fraiche, mushrooms and cheese......and just eaten chocolate ice cream. I should probably just swap my naughty snack for a healthy light meal 🙄 but I really like a little daily treat. Hope you're all doing ok.

sparklyglitterball · 18/11/2021 21:48

@Judystilldreamsofhorses well done on that step count. I really dislike mince pies, and am actually quite relieved that I do as that's one less thing for me to overindulge in over Christmas!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 18/11/2021 21:56

sparklyglitteryball it's maybe not healthy in some ways.. I'd love to be able to have a daily treat but moderation is too hard for me unfortunately. Too much inhaling oackets of biscuits etc, not good. So I'm concentrating on giving myself some lovely stuff (breakfast is easily my favourite meal) and I really look forward to my meals. I'll have something sweet on weekend probably, it'll slow down progress perhaps but ut might stave off a later opening of floodgates, if that makes sense. Your own food sounds delicious! Yes Judy, amazing steps!

TheHoneyBadger · 19/11/2021 07:27

12:7.7 again. Had takeaway last night as ds was craving chicken wings. I just ate a really small amount, stopping as soon as I was full.

I’m really being helped by not having much of an appetite this month.

Keep going everyone. We’re all doing great pushing on through winter. At least we’re not doing it through lockdowns (touch wood) this year.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 19/11/2021 07:35

Amazing Honeybadger and belated Happy Birthday! Sounds like you've had a nice week after a tough one. You're great to stop when you're full. I'm 9st1.5 this morning, 6 down in 4 weeks. V glad. Happy Friday all!

Octopus37 · 19/11/2021 07:37

Well done @HeyGirlHeyBoy.

@TheHoneyBadger Happy Birthday for whatever day it was. Hope you are ok. Massive well done on your weight loss

Well done everyone!
I hit my steps yesterday (I don’t work Thursday or Friday so much easier to get steps in when not stuck WFH!). Food was ok but I did have some chocolate after dinner. I bought some vitamins and iron yesterday to try to give me a boost, I desperately need to try to fit some exercise in but by the time we get the DC in bed I’m exhausted and just flop onto the sofa! Hope you all have a good Friday

NutellaEllaElla · 19/11/2021 08:06

God I love how calorie counting just WORKS for me. Another 1lb down for me. I'm now within 1lb of the upper end of my V narrow target range.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 19/11/2021 08:22

Lots of wins for people today Star Amazing Nutella! I'm a while away from that but I'm just going day to day and it's fantastic to see the difference four short weeks makes. And I'm definitely getting other benefits.

LadyDanburysHat · 19/11/2021 15:43

@TheHoneyBadger happy birthday.

I'm 11st 8.5 today. I've also realised that my fitbit app logs my weight in an easier to view each week kind of way. It show me my average for the week if I weigh in every day. Pretty good

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 19/11/2021 21:46

Steps - 14,000 at the time of writing this so will be up a bit before bed.
Weight - 10/8
Food - not brilliant but not terrible!

Happy weekend, everyone!

NutellaEllaElla · 20/11/2021 09:08

I've never been able to run for more than 2 mins. I tried couch to 5k, never got past week 3, I kid you not. Many many threads back someone posted a link to slow running and I've just got round to giving it a proper go. Anyway I've done my usual 4 mile walk route at a slow jog. Only 1mph faster than my walk but I'm amazed that it wasn't at all painful, I didn't need to stop, wasn't out of breath! What a different experience than I've had before.

Octopus37 · 20/11/2021 09:40

Well done @NutellaEllaElla, I need to try and run that way at some point. I've tried to start running several times and have always really struggled. I did good steps yesterday, but went out for a meal with a friend in the evening, was a lovely catch up though. Weighed this morning, 8st13.25.

OP posts:
Judystilldreamsofhorses · 20/11/2021 17:52

I’ve done my steps but been out for quite a cheese-based lunch, so just damage control really!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 21/11/2021 08:54

Ate all the crap yesterday and feel dreadful. Three meals, gallons of water and 10pm bed. Have a good Sunday all.

LBB2020 · 21/11/2021 09:48

I did couch to 5k a couple of summers ago and loved it, definitely need to find some exercise I enjoy and stick with it! I just find it hard at the moment to find time with the children. I ate terribly yesterday, we were at a big family get together and I couldn’t stop myself reaching for all the sweet things and desserts Blush Think we’re heading out for a walk in a while so hopefully get some decent steps in today!
