18 weeks until Christmas

It’s 18 weeks until Christmas and I would love to be 25lbs lighter by then. I want to do lots of self care as well as 50s skin is looking very dry and elephant like.

Plan is 10,000 steps no snacking, lots more vegetables and daily yoga. Does anyone want to join me?

Oh excellent! I’m in! I’d like to do the same! I have a sedentary job so the 10,000 steps will see me get off my butt a bit more!

Can I join too? 53, piled on the pounds during the last few years to to stress and terrible bad habits, now feeling creaky, old grumpy and frumpy. Off on hols today to do some “preparatory reading, list making and mind set altering” then off I go with a vengeance when I return (fingers crossed!)

I am 52 and really need to up my game and lose a couple of stones, plus I need to start using the copious amounts of beauty products I have stored and unused.

Will have to start the diet tomorrow though on account of me having just consumed a whole spinach and ricotta pizza and four, yes four, cereal bars which were in fact vile. 🤣

To be honest, I'm not really a pizza lover, I bought it for my daughter the other day but she ended up not coming round. Someone had to eat it!

On a more positive note, I have sanded my feet and painted my nails plus sorted my eyebrows.

Are we having a set weigh day?

Count me in. Great prompt. I’m late 30s, put on more than a stone through lockdown that I’d like to lose. Also want to get fitter and have more energy after a stressful and sedentary year and a half. 18 pounds in 18 weeks is my target.

Count me in too please. 6 months post partum and feel huge. Need to lose 1 stone ish to be pre baby weight and another to be pre IVF weight. Would love to be feeling better about myself busy Christmas. Will weigh in tomorrow morning!

I'm definitely in, thanks @readytostartagain. I'm just over 13 stone (will weigh first thing tomorrow morning) and 18lbs by Christmas would be great. 2 babies plus lockdown and returning to busy job in the last 3 years and I've piled on to what was already an overweight body.

Spoke to DH earlier, who also wants to get fitter and we've agreed how to help each other with exercise and how to make sure we have healthy meals. Going to try to run x2 a week plus cycle/walk for the nursery run/commute x4 days a week and yoga whenever I can fit it in. I'm a teacher so on my feet all day too.

My main concerns are portion size, snacking and sugar cravings that I really struggle to control.

Me too please! Got 19 lbs to lose to get back to my ideal weight (10st 5) but getting below 11st 5 is my first target. I keep losing and gaining the same 4 lbs. Been very sedentary since wfh the last 18 months and can't keep away from the biscuit tin. Plan is no snacking, healthier food, 10k steps a day plus some kind of exercise most days. I'm told getting more sleep helps too but I struggle to fit it in!

I was JUST about to start a thread saying the same! I am so happy there is a thread and would love to join. :)

I am aiming to lose just 1 lb a week. I have already lost 2 pounds and am at 13 stone 5.4 pounds. My ideal weight is about 10 stone 5.

This week my only aims are to;

  1. write everything I put in my mout ndown (so I really know what I am doing)
  1. Little bit of exercise every day
  1. avoid alcohol which is my trigger- I have stocked up on lots of fever tree tonics instead.

I plan to slightly tweak each week, because if i try and do too much at once I become dispirited.

Good morning, well here we are, day one.

My starting weight is 11st 1.25lbs. A little less than I thought I would be so I'm kind of relieved.

A couple of days ago I invited my mum round for Sunday roast, so that's happening today. Im not doing a dessert or pigs in blankets with the roast. Small changes. 😁

Can I join please, no snacking and upping the vegetables for me. I’ve about 4 stones to lose weighing in at 14st 4 this morning but a good stone off by Christmas would be a good start.

Hi ladies can I join in too please. I am on holiday at the moment but having seen photos of myself have really shocked me. I had a baby a year ago and I haven’t really lost the baby weight and I just look like I have ballooned over the past couple of months. It’s actually made me feel really down. I will weigh myself when I get back on Thursday morning but I am going to start making small changes now.
Plan for the rest of the holiday is to

  • up my water intake (as it’s shocking atm)
  • 10,000 steps a day
  • be mindful with food choices

Once I get back I will start logging my food and try to stick to 1600 calories a day.

I have gone from a size 12 (pre baby) to 14 after baby to 14/16 atm! I would ideally like to be back down to a size 12 by Christmas.

We can do this!!
