18 weeks until Christmas

Readytostartagain · 21/08/2021 07:42

It’s 18 weeks until Christmas and I would love to be 25lbs lighter by then. I want to do lots of self care as well as 50s skin is looking very dry and elephant like.

Plan is 10,000 steps no snacking, lots more vegetables and daily yoga. Does anyone want to join me?

Ooh can I join? I was just looking at the calendar today counting how many weeks until Christmas to see how much weight I could lose by then.

I'm early 30s and ideally have 2 stone to lose, but losing 18lbs by Christmas would be fantastic! The plan is to start IVF in Jan so any weight I could lose by then is great.

Today I weighed in at 74.7kg. I also did 18k steps and drank 2.7 litres of water so it's not been a bad start!

@DollyPartBaked So this evening I have been stripping wallpaper! Not too far above head height though (see gym plan and arm day....)
I am currently watching Greys Anatomy and gently box stepping around my living room instead of lazing on the couch. So whilst not exactly cardio, it has to be burning some calories!

Fluffyhairdontcare · 23/08/2021 21:40

Hope everyone's been getting on well today. I've managed no snacking today, had breakfast lunch and dinner, square of dark choc after dinner. Haven't managed any exercise today but planning a run or hiit tomorrow.

2RedShoes · 24/08/2021 07:10

Loads of walking yesterday and more scheduled today (we are on holiday). About to have a hotel breakfast which I hope will feature alot of fruit and yoghurt.

SheepBaah · 24/08/2021 08:24

I managed day 1!! About my 40th attempt but I did it, under calories and 600 steps off target which I will take.

My problem is I have a feeder dh and enablers for family and friends! (Course it's not my fault) like today I am meeting my sister and she will give me sad face if I don't eat cake with her, not sure how junk food ended up being my main source of treat but it's a killer!

SnowyMouse · 24/08/2021 17:47

Well done on day 1, @SheepBaah ! That is tricky. Sad

How's the walking gone, @2RedShoes ?

Well done @Fluffyhairdontcare , did you get some exercise in?

2RedShoes · 24/08/2021 17:50

Hello! Insane amounts of walking, thanks :@SnowyMouse

easily 3 hours or so (to me alot).

More tomorrow.

2RedShoes · 24/08/2021 17:51

The hotel breakfast on the other hand featured me hoovering up the discarded elements of DS1's egg and sausage because he did not eat it and I did not want the waiter to feel insulted Blush

SnowyMouse · 24/08/2021 17:54

That is a lot of walking! Oops re: sausage and egg, at least it's protein rather than carbs?

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 24/08/2021 18:02

With the feeder friends I often say ‘actually I’m feeling a bit off colour today- can’t face it’ this wouldn’t work all the time but most people feel sorry for you and let you off. Feeder husbands are another matter entirely - a stern word maybe?

Fluffyhairdontcare · 24/08/2021 19:38

@SnowyMouse

Thanks @snowymouse. Ashamed to say I did not manage a run or hiit today. I did a fair bit of walking and got close to 10k. Managed no snacking again and that has always been a huge problem for me.
SnowyMouse · 24/08/2021 19:42

Well done on the no snacking @Fluffyhairdontcare, I have 5 small meals a day, I would struggle to eat 3 meals a day.

DollyPartBaked · 24/08/2021 19:56

With my feeder husband I try and schedule in a few nicer food nights / with wine etc. so he doesn't feel so hard done by and won't fall back on suggesting take always!

Had another good day today - met a friend for lunch and was preparing to go slightly off plan when it turned out she is trying to watch her weight so we both ordered a salad Halo

StickersStickers · 24/08/2021 20:05

Oh dear. Was planning on a takeaway tonight as it’s our 10 year wedding anniversary. Had planned Chinese and worked out calories BUT the Chinese was closed and had to quickly order Thai (as DH was in the car to collect it). Didn’t have time to plan or calculate calories so ended up with my usual, which is Prawn massaman curry, probably one of the worst things on the menu!! I did order it with brown rice and didn’t eat any of the kids chips though! I put 1,250 in as the approx calories!

fingersdoublecrossed · 24/08/2021 20:47

@StickersStickers I think a decade of being married allows a great Thai meal! Congratulations! Hope you've had a lovely day!

Stargazer89 · 24/08/2021 20:54

@StickersStickers enjoy your Thai, 10 years married deserves a treat.

Is anyone tracking progress by measurements? And if so, how often?

Thursday morning (once back from holiday) I am going to take measurements and weight. I look about 7 months pregnant still and my daughter is over a year old now 🤦🏻‍♀️ I feel like people are looking at me and trying to work out if I am pregnant again or not.

sar302 · 24/08/2021 21:08

Reasonably good food day today, ate early and then went to aquafit. Turns out eating before throwing yourself around in a pool is not a good idea 🤢 lesson learned for next week!

Very jealous of the thai food!

WinterWeightlossGoal · 24/08/2021 22:52

Hi! This is such a good idea of setting Christmas as a goal :)

I lost about 10kg earlier this year by lowish carbing and 16:8, but a few weeks of holidays, camping trips and being too relaxed about food and wine means I have put back on 5kg 😭

My current weight is 85kg and my goal is 70kg. My main motivation is fertility related, I've been suffering from secondary infertility for about 3 years and all tests have come back normal, so I'm thinking it must be my weight stopping things happening. My DS is 4.5 now so there will be a much bigger aged gap than we planned if we manage to have another one.

DollyPartBaked · 25/08/2021 07:40

@StickersStickers definitely think 10 years of marriage is worthy of a high calorie takeaway as well!

@Stargazer89 I know this feeling. I had an awkward encounter when one of the nursery mums was surprised I had had my baby (she was 5 months!!) as clearly she'd thought I still looked pregnant whilst collecting the toddler. At the time I told myself it was my big winter coat Grin

2RedShoes · 25/08/2021 07:47

Morning all! Thai food sounds amazing.

Better hotel breakfast this morning. Poached egg, 2 slices of ham and a big bowl of fruit. I feel full and happy that I somehow managed 5 serves of fruit and veg already. :) They only have white bread so i skipped that which is also good.

The children are advocating for Nandos and I am sure there are worse options out there so I am going with it. :)

happy days everyone!

sparklyglitterball · 25/08/2021 07:57

I would love to join please. Having done lots of socialising over the last couple of months trying to catch up with friends and family after restrictions being lifted I've gained a few lbs. But it's been worth it!! I'm calorie counting, but have been kind of intermittent fasting too by not eating before 11/12 each day. Good luck everyone Smile

SheepBaah · 25/08/2021 09:41

Yesterday was on target..but only because I skipped dinner to make up for a naughty lunch. I know it isn't ideal and won't make a habit of...I do feel much less bloated today though Grin

Juno231 · 25/08/2021 10:57

@WinterWeightlossGoal I hear you - I'm going for IVF come the new year so want to get fighting fit for it. I'd hate to think once I manage to get pregnant that I'd then also hate all pics of myself because I never lost weight pre-pregnancy.

This week has been good so far. Two days of 18k steps each - plus I managed to get to the gym yesterday. Got 90 min of a local community exercise class tonight and planning on going for a walk at lunch to get those steps up. I've lost 1.1kg since Monday just in bloat so at least something is happening! I've been having lots of water so that will have helped (3.8 litres yesterday and it wasn't even a chore cause I must have been that dehydrated!)

Zingz · 25/08/2021 12:04

Well yesterday was a total diet failure for me so am just moving on today.

Just took the dog out for a long walk and am now contemplating mopping the kitchen floor. Could my life be anymore exciting!

I am pleased that good progress is being made by you all.

funnybones1234 · 25/08/2021 14:51

Afternoon! Another 2lbs off for me so 10lbs off in total!
Feeling really motivated and in the zone.

I did a Disney HIT work out this morning which I found on YouTube which was really fun.
