18 weeks until Christmas

Readytostartagain · 21/08/2021 07:42

It’s 18 weeks until Christmas and I would love to be 25lbs lighter by then. I want to do lots of self care as well as 50s skin is looking very dry and elephant like.

Plan is 10,000 steps no snacking, lots more vegetables and daily yoga. Does anyone want to join me?

Welcome to new joiners- some great plans- I’m definitely going for small changes and hopefully build on them. Weigh in at 10 10 this morning so a lb a week would see me move from overweight BMI just in time for Christmas so something to aim for.

I have been looking for my old Fitbit since yesterday afternoon. I have finally found it, complete with its charger. It's on charge as we speak.

I am aiming to start at 8000 steps a day which should be doable if I start walking the dog. Dh is currently chief dog Walker as I am lazy and hate walking. I am lucky that I live rurally so I really do not have any excuses not to start walking.

Canibringmyfriendtotea · 22/08/2021 09:08

Can I tag along? I have at least 18lbs to lose but my aim between now and Christmas is a stone.

The plan is 3 meals a day, increase water and increase exercise. Also, a better sleep routine. When I'm not getting enough sleep, I eat all around me.

lulu12345 · 22/08/2021 09:35

Weigh in this morning was as bad as feared - a new personal record 🤦‍♀️ 😂 I need to lose more than 18 lbs but will stick with that as seems a reasonable target by Christmas. I am going to kick start with a 3 day juice cleanse next week. Bit gimmicky but has worked well for me in the past to shock my body into accepting lower portion sizes post-cleanse.

Stargazer89 · 22/08/2021 09:57

@lulu12345 juicing is a good idea. I have thought about it but don’t have a juicer and they look pretty expensive. Which one do you use? Thanks

lulu12345 · 22/08/2021 10:38

They’re extortionate. I’ve used Press in the past and am trying Presscription this time. If you google you can usually find a 10% or 20% discount but still c£50/day. You could prob do it for c£10-20/day by just buying larger bottles of juice from supermarket and dividing up the portions yourself. I don’t think there’s anything super special about the juices they give you other than nice interesting combination of flavours.

Stargazer89 · 22/08/2021 10:52

Thanks @lulu12345 I am going to look in to it.
I am excited to start making healthier changes and hopefully be a good few pounds lighter by Christmas! Ideally I would like to have shifted 18 pounds but we will see.

Good luck everyone

9monthson9monthsoff · 22/08/2021 10:55

Morning all, hope weigh in has gone OK for everyone. Mine was ok, have lost a lb this week which is a good motivator to put some proper effort in.

SW 12.4.6 lb
GW 10.4.0 lb - in my healthy BMI range

Target loss this week = 2lb. Plan to move more and snack less! On a chocolate and cake ban this week, I find I reach for the sugar when baby has had a bad night. I'm moving to combi feeding instead of EBF (for unrelated reasons) so hoping my constant hunger might drop a bit too.

Have a good week all Smile

fingersdoublecrossed · 22/08/2021 10:59

I'm in. I'm more of a reader than a poster but I will chip in here and there.
I need to lose my Covid pounds but I really struggle with the numbers on the scale so this time I'm going to use measurements and clothes as more of a guide.
I've got a milestone birthday in Autumn to consider as well.

LindaEllen · 22/08/2021 11:04

I'd love to join. I'm 30 and 5 stone heavier than I'd like to be. Obviously it's not going to be gone by Christmas, but i can have a good go at it.

Annoyingly I lost 12 stone a decade ago, gained a little bit back (I do actually think I'd lost too much) but then lockdown destroyed me, I had covid and had to isolate several times and I just ate my way through it. After maintaining my weight for such a long time I am super annoyed at myself.

But, I did it before and I can do it again.

Lost half a stone so far and would love to join with you guys to support each other going forward :).

Zingz · 22/08/2021 12:35

Just saying hello to the new joiners 👋

Boomerang99 · 22/08/2021 12:44

I said this to my daughter this morning. 1lb a week would be amazing and I definitely think I can do this If I stop eating crisps every day. I've also started also going to the gym so that will help too.

SmallGreenStripes · 22/08/2021 13:00

Weighed in at 227lbs this am.
Obs I have a lot to lose, but starting with 25lbs Grin

I have also joined the 10 veg and fruit a day thread as it definitely helps me to focus on what I can enjoy rather than what I can’t.

2RedShoes · 22/08/2021 13:17

I am feeling so inspired and very happy to be on this thread. :)

HereticFanjo · 22/08/2021 16:27

I forgot to weigh this morning so this will be a short week.

ListenLinda · 22/08/2021 16:58

I also forgot to weigh this morning but I will check back in tomorrow with my weight and start :) x

SnowyMouse · 22/08/2021 17:06

I weighed in today:
SW: 15 stone 4
CW: 14 stone 4
GW: 13 stone 0 (Christmas)

fayebebaby · 22/08/2021 19:54

Can I join? 5ft 3 and 11 stone 4

SnowyMouse · 22/08/2021 19:56

Welcome!

Raindancer411 · 22/08/2021 19:59

I need to join!! Lockdown and having a baby in lockdown, and turning 40 haven't helped my weight... I need to lose a stone at least

Fluffyhairdontcare · 22/08/2021 19:59

My scales were out of batteries this morning but got new ones so will weigh tomorrow. DH already made a start with healthier meals and meal planned some nutritious dinners for us this week. He's been on a run and I'll be walking DD to nursery in the morning which is 45-60 min round trip and collecting in the afternoon.

Excited for everyone!

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 22/08/2021 20:03

Oh I’d love to join as well. Lost 2lbs 7 from spring to summer holidays and been relaxed since then so have put on about 5lbs. Nipping it in the bud now we are getting ready to go back soon. I’ve been low carbing as it works for me. Starting weight today was 13.3. I’ll go with the 18lb loss.

Zingz · 22/08/2021 20:49

Evening, well I have survived day one and I've been pretty good. Have kept myself busy all day, including walking the dog.

I also worked up quite a sweat cutting the grass and sweeping up outside. Last Sunday I sat on the sofa all day binge watching The Crown and stuffing my face with chocolate pretty much all day, feeling pretty crap about myself. I feel much more positive today.

fuckingsickofcovid · 22/08/2021 21:08

I'll join. 🙋‍♀️ I was 13 stone 7 in March and losing and then I got some very severe depression so I weighed again at the end of June and was 14stone 4, but I was quite down still so I've only really been losing properly this last month, I'm down to 13stone 8.5lbs. Not great, not 100% what my target weight is really, my face starts looking very gaunt as I lose weight because it's all on my hips, bum and thighs so I want to probably stick around 10st 7, maybe? I'm also starting with my vitamins, teeth whitening, doing my nails and skin care again. Small things to make me feel a bit better about myself!

Morethanthis71 · 22/08/2021 21:11

Please can I join. Last year I lost just under 4 stone but have plateaued for a year now although I've gone down a dress size. Would love to lose 18lbs between now and Christmas. Am currently 14.9
