18 weeks until Christmas

Readytostartagain · 21/08/2021 07:42

It’s 18 weeks until Christmas and I would love to be 25lbs lighter by then. I want to do lots of self care as well as 50s skin is looking very dry and elephant like.

Plan is 10,000 steps no snacking, lots more vegetables and daily yoga. Does anyone want to join me?

@Submariner I've always loved my breakfast, and never thought I could skip it......but during last year's hot summer I was getting out really early for runs to avoid the heat, and found it easier to go before breakfast. Then just started delaying breakfast until later in the morning and eventually cutting it out. Lots of tea and coffee helps! I sometimes need to eat some fruit or a handful of nuts at 11:30 ish.

sparklyglitterball · 26/08/2021 21:45

And well done on your loss!!

Submariner · 26/08/2021 21:50

Thank you @sparklyglitterball 😊

Roussette · 26/08/2021 21:51

Yes, I'm the same as sparkly.

I honestly do'n't feel hungry in the morning at all. If I was hypnotised and told I'd eaten a full english at 8am, I'd believe it, despite not eating anything. No tummy rumbles, nothing.
In fact if I eat breakfast I'm far more hungry at lunchtime.

WinterWeightlossGoal · 26/08/2021 23:17

@Submariner

For some reason I decided to weigh again today (don't normally weigh every day) and I'm down another 1.8lbs. I'm really chuffed with that.

Interesting to hear the intermittent fasters saying you don't crave breakfast. I am working my way up to a 16:8 but breakfast is my favourite meal of the day! I know I'll soon get to a point where I have to decide whether to eat lunchy foods or breakfasty foods for the first meal of the day.

You can do 16:8 however you want so if you love breakfast skip dinner instead, or have a very early light dinner around 5pm :)

Can I join please? I've been trying to lose weight for around a year, managed to lose around 8lbs until I fell off the wagon in June. Trying to get my mojo back so hoping to up my exercise significantly once the kids go back to school next week. I'd love to lose 1 stone by Christmas, although could do with getting rid of another 1.5st in the longer term.

Roussette · 27/08/2021 08:55

Hi sylv !

DollyPartBaked · 27/08/2021 09:05

I've had a bad two days - totally fell of the wagon! Wine / chocolate / crisps the next night etc. Which actually when I think about it isn't that bad (I'm not binging) but unfortunately when I diet I have to be quite strict otherwise I just don't lose any weight.

Luckily I've got 3 days to turn it around as I'm only weighing myself (officially) on a Monday and I just have low key plans with my family this weekend.

Happy Friday everyone!

Roussette · 27/08/2021 10:29

I'm exactly the same. If I'm not strict, I lose nothing. My weigh in is today and I've lost 1.25 lbs (the .25 matters!)
So pleased it's a loss but I have been good this week (awful at weekend) and I have just come back from walking 5 miles.

Fingers x'd for everyone!

sylv165 · 27/08/2021 10:49

I'm totally the same @DollyPartBaked. I went on holiday for a week and gained 4lbs. Have been dieting for 2 weeks now, pretty strictly. Forst week I lost 0.5lbs, this week I have gained 1lb. Disaster. Hoping my body is just adjusting and by next week I'll be on a downward trajectory!!

Midgetwithaplan · 27/08/2021 10:50

I've just had a weigh in and am down 3lb which I'm thrilled about, hoping I can stay on track over the weekend. I'm working tonight which is always a bit easier for staying on plan, as I pack my food in the morning and as long as I don't go wandering at 9pm (I work in a supermarket) I don't have anything off plan to eat

UnLunDun · 27/08/2021 11:33

Hi can I join you all please? I still have 69lbs to lose and it can feel a little overwhelming at times…1lb a week till Christmas is very positive. I’m recovering from awful acute pancreatitis a month ago so follow a strict low fat diet but never done low fat before so learning new things every day.
Today’s food: porridge skimmed milk, mixed bean salad, wholemeal spaghetti and soya-protein bolognese. Also a daily Options Hot Choc as supper; they help me a lot in the evening.
Re Christmas, I’m google-shopping a new 7ft tree, just can’t decide but want a really nice one.

Starheart · 27/08/2021 16:44

Saw this thread and I'm also joining for accountability . Christmas is also my goal Smile

OkyDoke · 27/08/2021 16:52

Seem to be doing well the last few days, but sons birthday tomorrow so that won't go so well!

SnowyMouse · 27/08/2021 17:23

I'm plateauing, it's so frustrating.

Roussette · 27/08/2021 18:53

It is the most frustrating thing when that happens especially when you think you've been quite good!

diet2021 · 28/08/2021 07:41

Can i join in please? I have about 10 pounds to loose i think. I will weigh myself on Monday morning.

Stargazer89 · 28/08/2021 08:45

so i just weighed myself and omg i can’t believe it but apparently i have put on 10pounds over the summer and i was already massively overweight. it’s spurred me on big time though! off to an exercise class this morning

3GreenPullups · 28/08/2021 08:53

May i join? I have been lurking Blush

My weigh in day is tomorrow. last week I was 13 stone 8 pounds. My goal is about 10 stone 4.

I agree that with intermittant fasting I find it easy to go without breakfast and just get to lunch. (Although I usually have lunch around noon). If I eat breakfast it seems to make me much hungrier.

So my plans are to IF, and then to focus on portion sizes. Cut down on wine which I have HAMMERED during lockdown.

I am in bed mostly today with (yet another) vertigo attack, but when I am feeling better I want to increase my fitness by walking.

Soril · 28/08/2021 08:55

Hello everyone, I'd love to join you all.

This thread is perfect timing for me, am feeling pretty disgusting at the moment carrying a lot of lard. Just about to have a shower and I will weigh myself.

Soril · 28/08/2021 09:26

My start weight is 11st 4.75lbs.

DaisyDozyDee · 28/08/2021 09:31

Can I join too? My focus is on trying to do stuff that actually helps me feel better and reduces my diabetes risk, but I hope/need to lose some weight as part of that.
I was 84kg in July, but down to 80.2 kg last Thursday heading in the right direction.

StickersStickers · 28/08/2021 09:47

I’m hanging on by my fingertips! Everything I ate yesterday was either carbs or sugar (or both!). Was on track (mostly, there were a few things I had to make an educated guess) with calories but only because I didn’t eat proper meals and just grazed for the day.

I’m now in danger of thinking “I’ll have the weekend off and start again on Monday when my girls go back to school”. But then on Monday I’ll start thinking “oh I deserve this week off as they’ve just gone back, I’ll start next week”.

So long story short, I need to not go off the rails this weekend. If I can hang on for the weekend I’ll be in a good frame of mind for Monday.

Soril · 28/08/2021 09:58

Hello @StickersStickers, you and I seem to have exactly the same thought process regarding dieting 😂

I decided to make a start dieting today and joined this thread, already I'm thinking maybe I should start Monday!

StickersStickers · 28/08/2021 10:10

soril stay - we can convince each other to stick to it!! Are you following any specific plan? Or just eating healthy in general?
