Afternoon all. I am attempting to get back on the horse after making very feeble attempts in the last two weeks. I will weigh in tomorrow to see the damage (again!).

Wedding was great thanks @purplegirl13! Sorry to hear about you being laid up. 2 months pg is a vast improvement on 8, well done you!

Hope everyone else is ok and coping in the heat.

purplegirl13 · 26/07/2021 19:16

I made pasta for today and tomorrow and have scoffed the lot! Oops

Sooverthemill · 27/07/2021 09:06

@purplegirl13 bet it was delicious. We had egg and chips last night. A truly dreadful few days with DD and a terrible day that made me want to leave home!

Badgerstmary · 28/07/2021 20:52

Hi everyone, after a busy few days with my dad’s 80th & my 25th w/a I’m relieved to see my weight is still slowly creeping down. My dd has just made chocolate brownie though!
O W 12 9
CW. 10 10
9 lbs until my bmi is 25. It all doesn’t seem so daunting now. Realistically I’ll be happy when it starts with a 9.

purplegirl13 · 30/07/2021 10:16

@Sooverthemill I am sorry to hear about your horrible days x

@Badgerstmary good to hear the scales are moving downwards

@BlodwinTheThird what's the damage? Wink

I have maintained at 9st10 which I'm very surprised about as was expecting a gain.

I have a lot on and I'm back to struggling with my mood as it had only started to improve. I ended up in A&E due to my IBD flare and now have additional treatment to hopefully sort things out quickly, but I'm pleased to stay I can now walk on my ankle so there's a plus.

My mum's still under investigation via the breast clinic - she's had mammogram/ultrasounds - biopsies done on one side 2 weeks ago, different type of biopsies done earlier this week on the other side. I will go with her next week to get the results. We received a letter yesterday saying the doctor will put her on the list for MDT discussion which is worrying - they decided this on the basis of ultrasound and mammogram results. I am so, so scared. I am sorry to have put all this down here but I needed to get it out of my head.

BlodwinTheThird · 30/07/2021 12:25

I’m sorry to hear about your troubles @purplegirl13. You’ve done amazingly to maintain in those circumstances. Keeping my fingers crossed for your mum.

Damage was 2lbs though have lost a pound of it this week so still up at about a pound at 9.10.8.

Hope everyone else is doing ok x

Morningmaeve · 30/07/2021 17:17

Thinking of you @purplegirl13. Didn’t weigh today as went out for a pizza last night… we are away next week so am going off plan diet-wise for next little while. Not ideal but I am still a stone lighter than I was this time last year so I am cutting myself some slack

Teaand · 31/07/2021 17:30

Hello. I joined your lovely group earlier in the year then found I was under threat of redundancy and just needed to concentrate on keeping my job. I work in kilos but had about 2 stone to lose I am nearly at the stone mark. I wanted to lose it by a wedding I am due to attend in the autumn but I am probably losing to slowly to make it. I have just tried on the dress I planned to wear and I can do it up but losing more would make it fit better.
I also want to lose weight to improve my health as my BMI is above the healthy range. I am not following any plan just trying not to snack eating better portion sizes and exercising when I can.

Sooverthemill · 01/08/2021 09:54

Oh @purplegirl13 that's a lot! I hope it all begins to feel better/ more manageable soon
I'm stuck at 8 12 annoyingly but better than gaining I guess

Knittingnanny · 01/08/2021 10:07

@Sooverthemill I’m stuck too, beginning to think I’ve reached my target and should just work on maintaining.

Knittingnanny · 02/08/2021 10:48

Off to Southampton in a couple of hours for our “ 2 night staycation” cruise/eating so no weighing in for me for at least a week!

AuldFox · 02/08/2021 10:56

How are you all doing?

I’m still in maintenance (8st 6lb) and seem to have lost inches without losing much weight by upping my activity levels. Thanks to everyone on the weight loss board, I’ve gone from size 12 to 8 which sits a lot better on my small frame.

It’s weird because I was the “fat friend” in my group and now I’m slimmer than most of them. They think I’m on some crazy diet but it’s just been slow plodding and sensible eating. There’s no big secret, just boring old persistence not over months but years.

AuldFox · 02/08/2021 10:59

Oh have a lovely time @Knittingnanny. It’s customary to gain weight on a cruise (so much delicious food, it would be rude not to!) Just need to enjoy yourself for now and back on the wagon afterwards.
purplegirl13 · 02/08/2021 11:00

Thanks everyone for your messages, the appt to get my mum's results has moved from today to tomorrow afternoon (after the MDT discussion). I am starting to feel quite panicky, but doing my best to rein it in.

My flare up seems to be responding to treatment prescribed by A&E, although am still quite nauseated so am doing my best to eat little and often, but at the moment I'm only keeping one meal a day down. I have decided to give myself some slack on the whole job hunting search - worrying about lack of job/money on top of everything isn't helping me right now. I'm waiting on the ok from med. professionals to see if I can increase my dose of citalopram to help break this cycle I seem to have found myself in.

@BlodwinTheThird I'm just pleased we're still under 10st!

@Morningmaeve after reading your message on Friday, I promptly ordered a pizza! Enjoy your break away

@Teaand welcome back

@Sooverthemill @Knittingnanny I think staying the same is a great result

Ok, food wise, due to the flare up I'm mostly eating a white/beige diet but trying my best to stick to yogurt, banana, rice, eggs instead of endless cheese toasties

Today:
B - greek yogurt with honey
L & D tbc - possibly will try some rice and dhal or eggs

Have a good day everyone

Oh and I tried hello fresh the other week and it wasn't for me - too much excess packaging for my liking which is what I think @neverenoughchelseaboots also said

But I did like this recipe
www.hellofresh.co.uk/recipes/chilli-jam-glazed-halloumi-with-parsley-bulgur-60b756f5bec6113d17429329

purplegirl13 · 02/08/2021 11:05

@Knittingnanny Have a fantastic break! Absolutely eat everything in sight Smile

@AuldFox well done for getting to where you are, you are absolutely right - it's the CONSTANT plodding along that will get us to our aims.

Teaand · 02/08/2021 22:02

Thank-you purple girl. I have just read up the posts and seen what a difficult time you ate having. Please be kind to yourself we can only deal with so much at once.

I had a bad weekend so weighed myself and am cross with how much I put on over the weekend. Particularly as i was trying to be really good before we are swamped with loads of visitors.

neverenoughchelseaboots · 02/08/2021 22:11

Yeah the Hello Fresh packaging was ridiculous @purplegirl13. Aside from the massive guilt from an environmental perspective, I also couldn't fit it all in the recycling.

But I have used the ice packs several times since which makes me feel better. And I'm remaking the chipotle halloumi tacos this week.

I need to read everyone's updates and catch up - my usual mumsnet browsing time has been dominated by the epic parking saga (threads 1-4 😂).

Sooverthemill · 03/08/2021 08:35

We had hello fresh for a couple of years and I occasionally get the mindful chef because it feels like a treat ( no takeaways here and I can't go out to a supermarket to choose food). But the packaging is insane

Sooverthemill · 03/08/2021 08:35

Oh and I've put on .8 of a pound which is really really annoying

Sooverthemill · 03/08/2021 08:36

@purplegirl13 stay well!

purplegirl13 · 03/08/2021 10:23

@Teaand thank you , and unfortunately I don't have much support left in London so am feeling horribly alone. Don't worry about the gain - that's the joy in having Friday weigh in's! Get yourself back on track today.

@Sooverthemill that'll come back off in no time!

@neverenoughchelseaboots I was thinking about those tacos as I was posting the link to the halloumi recipe upthread. As soon as I am eating 'normally' those tacos will be on the menu! I have also been following those parking threads Smile

Massive handhold needed from you all - I am sat here in tears (they needed to be released). Stomach is churning and causing tummy upset and I can't keep water down. I am off to the hospital this afternoon with mum to get her results - I have deliberately not googled all the scary terminology in the hospital letter received last week but do have to potentially prepare myself for the 'C' word. However a close friend reminded me I don't do well with the unknown or uncertainty and in a few hours I will know and hopefully there's a course of action in place. I do much better with knowledge, and as much as I really don't want to go to the appt, I am absolutely the best person to go with my mum as I'll ask the right questions.

Thanks for letting me get it out x

neverenoughchelseaboots · 03/08/2021 10:31

That sounds like very good advice from your friend @purplegirl13 and good that you can recognise the different emotions, even if it doesn't control them.

And well done for not googling. Consultants can give a specific, personalised and accurate explanations whereas articles cover all scenarios and could be written by anyone.

I hope everything goes well and will be thinking of you. x

@purplegirl13 Strong virtual handhold from me. I really hope the news is not as you fear.

Sooverthemill · 03/08/2021 12:49

@purplegirl13 I'm sorry that is really tough. Hugs
