@purplegirl13 sending you a virtual hug, that must be so hard and so stressful for you, but I do hope the news is better than you are anticipating

I stayed the same this week, which is better than it sounds as I haven5 been that good, I am back in work for four weeks now and having to resist huge piles of biscuits, cakes and crisps, I am trying to keep very busy and drink 3 litres of water, so there is literally no room for food !

purplegirl13 · 03/08/2021 20:58

@neverenoughchelseaboots @AuldFox @Sooverthemill @EdwinaLIzzard

Thank you so much lovely Ladies for the handhold, much needed.

I am very, very pleased to say my mum's biopsies do not currently show signs of cancer. They do show 'changes' which could be indicative of pre-cancerous cells so they will get moving with removing lumps on the right breast but don't consider it urgent. The left breast requires more biopsies (the biopsies already done on the left side also show changes similar to the right) they just want biopsies taken from a larger area to 100% rule out cancer. They were concerned about breast surgery goven she's on blood thinners following a blood clot post-covid. I'm hoping tomorrow to be able to confirm she'll soon stop the blood thinners and then we can get moving with some action.

Thank you so much for the support, it means more than you know.

I wasn't able to eat until this afternoon, but I've since had churro's, 1/3 prosecco bottle and now I'm tucking into instant noodles with a fried egg. I'm so bloody relieved. I can now breathe xx

neverenoughchelseaboots · 03/08/2021 22:16

I'm so pleased for you @purplegirl13. And great that precautions can be taken now to stop anything developing. It's times like this when my heart absolutely swells for the NHS and what they can do.

The team were fantastic, from the lovely receptionist who got nowhere by calling patient transport to get my mum a wheelchair so she went down 3 floors to personally obtain one! The 2 (!) doctors we saw this afternoon who were so very kind and reassuring and pleased to have a plan in place.

BlodwinTheThird · 04/08/2021 11:53

That’s great news!! So pleased for you :)

AuldFox · 05/08/2021 17:42

@purplegirl13 so pleased at your news!

Sooverthemill · 05/08/2021 19:40

@purplegirl13 that's brilliant news I'm so sorry I didn't catch up earlier. Been having our own little crises here, DD is simply terribly unwell and DH has to have a biopsy. He doesn't do well waiting, he's not used to poor health. It's all a bit shit. But hopefully it will be nothing sinister. Am eating chocolate

It's lovely when you get people like that. We once had an ambulance team volunteer to take DD home from chemo as they happened to pop in to say hello ( DD was a regular) and found out we had been waiting over 6 hours. They were so kind. Sometimes the people in the NHS are wonderful
Knittingnanny · 05/08/2021 20:05

Sorry to here about everyone’s difficult week, hope next weeks brighter for you all.
I didn’t each much on the staycation cruise as had a rotten migraine for most of the time! But did see dolphins playing and showing off for the ships in Weymouth harbour!
Showed me how I love a cruise holiday but it’s too soon as it’s no fun wearing a mask, not interacting with anyone, queuing and booking for every single thing on board due to covid! We will def go again but not for at least a year.
Dh managed to put on 2lbs in 2 days though

purplegirl13 · 06/08/2021 12:33

Thanks all, I feel like I can finally breathe for the first time in weeks.

Getting myself out the other side of this IBD flare up also helps as I'm not as tired, or in as much pain. Never taking those specific antibiotics again - they were lethal to me.

@Sooverthemill sending you a virtual hug, post on here for support if you need/want to x

@Knittingnanny oh that is a shame.

@Morningmaeve I discovered these today www.waitrose.com/ecom/products/popchips-veg-vibes-sriracha/822975-758215-758216 I ate nearly the whole pack, they've got a bit of a kick to them so better in small doses.

I also picked a couple of cinnamon buns, so I'll have one both with a coffee later.

Also bought some lovely creamy french cheese, and fresh bread - this will be my dinner later along, with some grapes as I slowly start weaning myself back on to fruit and veg.

I am still 9st10 so I'm maintaining but no surprise given lack of movement and my current beige diet

How's everyone else getting on? @BlodwinTheThird @EdwinaLIzzard @WellTidy @SwimmingOnEggshells

purplegirl13 · 06/08/2021 12:43

@AuldFox are you currently maintaining?

BlodwinTheThird · 06/08/2021 12:53

I also maintained this week at 9.10.8. Can’t complain really as I’m Monday I was showing 10.1!!

I normally relax a bit at the w/e and did so last w/e but not excessively so. I just can’t eat much at all if I want to be a healthy weight Sad

purplegirl13 · 06/08/2021 12:56

@BlodwinTheThird we're absolutely going to have to be 'sporty' aren't we???

purplegirl13 · 06/08/2021 12:58

*become

BlodwinTheThird · 06/08/2021 13:16

Ugh, I hope not! :D
I have increased my walking this week but I hate the gym/running.

purplegirl13 · 06/08/2021 13:50

@BlodwinTheThird same, although due to my medical history I do need to start doing cardio soon. Once my achilles issues are sorted I'll be back to trying C25K again. I've aggravated my ankle this week by thinking I was all better so need to be careful but desperately want to get out walking.

Also these are amazing so for the cinnamon fans on this thread I suggest you do not buy them www.waitrose.com/ecom/products/waitrose-cinnamon-buns/524302-753341-753342

AuldFox · 06/08/2021 14:28

I am indeed. No longer logging food or watching it too closely. I weigh myself randomly now.

I think my appetite has adjusted downwards. I’ve upped my activity, but that’s actually just because it’s summer and we are out and about more. I weighed in today at 8st 5.

Teaand · 07/08/2021 07:27

I forgot to weigh myself yesterday morning so have just done it and I have lost a little what I put on last weekend and aliitle more. I need too work hard the next couple of days as we are going to have back to back visitors soon and that will be hard not to put any on.

Morningmaeve · 08/08/2021 15:26

So happy to hear the news about your mum @purplegirl13 and thanks for the new pop chip info 😀 I am on way home from my holiday and definitely not going to weigh until next Friday as there has been much eating and drinking!

Sooverthemill · 09/08/2021 08:04

I dropped off the thread, apologies. I've not been especially 'good'. Life is a bit hard at the moment but I did notice my tummy looking podgy yesterday when I was trying in a pair of old jeans! Must try harder

Sooverthemill · 10/08/2021 09:04

I've realised that I'm bloated because I've been testing out gluten and lactose very gently. I think lactose is still a no go sadly. So I didn't weigh today but instead put on a skirt with an elastic waist!

Morningmaeve · 10/08/2021 17:10

Nice move with the elasticated waistband @Sooverthemill Smile. I am being very focused since I got back from holiday so hoping scales will not be too much of a shock on Friday.

Sooverthemill · 12/08/2021 09:21

Still not 'right' and having a dreadful time with poor DD who is really extra unwell. So I am not being especially watchful of what I eat. Which makes me feel worse! So from Monday I'm going to overhaul my crap diet. That gives me a few days to do as I please ( which may include healthy eating, who knows?)

purplegirl13 · 13/08/2021 18:16

Need to catch up on the thread, but sorry to hear things are not going well @Sooverthemill. I feel like an overhaul is much needed for me as well, after nearly 2 months on the beige diet. Let's do this! I am pulling together a bit of a meal plan over the weekend trying to incorporate what I have in freezer/cupboards that needs using up.

I forgot to weigh in but will do tomorrow

purplegirl13 · 14/08/2021 10:36

@AuldFox Sounds like you're doing well!

@Teaand How did you get on this week?

@Morningmaeve How was the holiday? Have you dared weigh in yet?

@Sooverthemill are you able to get some sleep/rest?

I weighed in today at 9st10 so still maintaining but tbh, I would have expected a loss given I'm still not keeping much food down. I've been prescribed anti-nausea meds which should help.

After getting my mum's test results back, my mood has lifted, not to mention my IBD flare is improving - no longer needing to be within reach of a bathroom has given me some much needed freedom.

I've had a few social occasions with friends this week which has been lovely. I'm also working on giving the flat a proper tidy/clean as I'd been doing the minimum due to illness/low mood.

I'm out this afternoon to say goodbye to a friend who will be emigrating in a few weeks but this will be low key, in someones garden - will do my best to limit alcohol but I'm making no promises

Today:
B - greek yogurt, blackberries, nuts, ground flaxseeds
L - gazpacho
D - tbc but something low effort
S - grapes

Hope you are all doing ok x
