10.6 today was hoping for better 😭

Knittingnanny2 · 11/02/2022 09:22

I was 8.12 this morning. I’m going to get out SSS clothes and see what fits! ( sleeveless summer Singapore)
Dull weather here today and we have a day off childcare as the baby now has chickenpox as well as the 4 year old so mummy and daddy are in charge.
Babysitting tomorrow night and mr knittingnanny is already mentioning Indian takeaway...
Meanwhile I’ve heard Cadbury crepe eggs are available this year in a box of ten....
8.12 might only be momentary!

Mywifenow · 11/02/2022 09:36

@WellTidy thanks for saying that Smile. I am truly good obsessed so give it a lot of thought!
@purplegirl13 I love Katherine Ryan, enjoy yourself!

@MotherOfWhippets is that a loss?

I’m 10st 4.5 and happy with that. I have a lot to lose to be a healthy weight so I’m sure it will slow down
L: mussels in cider with one of my 90 calorie flatbreads which were a great success!
D: small rump, “creamy” mushrooms and spinach. Onions, peppers, toms and a few chips (parboiled and roasted) can’t wait!

I’ll probably need snacks between that lunch and dinner so have some tinned tuna, boiled egg and Melba thins on stand by.

Happy Friday everyone x

WellTidy · 11/02/2022 09:53

Morning all

Stayed the same overnight, despite the five guys burger (god, they’re amazing) so still at 9st 11.25lb, which is a 7.75lb loss since the start of the year. On track.

Not so fealty ikea meatballs and fries planned for dinner here. I have the child size portion which MFP tells me is 600cals. Hmmmm.

Hope you have lovely weekends. I’ve read all the plans and they sound great. I have very little planned but I’m looking forward to the weekend enormously!

WellTidy · 11/02/2022 09:54

fealty= healthy!

SwimmingOnEggshells · 11/02/2022 10:04

Popped back up on the scales this morning to 8stone10.25lbs. I think the general trend for me is a bit of a drop down, up again for a bit and then another drop. That's what I'm hoping anyway.

Did so-so yesterday:
Breakfast: the usual oats, porridge, apple juice
Lunch: nearly a whole bag of spicy nuts (the nut-talk made me do it!), rest of my daughter's sandwich
Dinner: vegetarian ramen noodles with lots and lots of veg
snack: chocolate buttons
Spin class.

I'm hoping spin will off-set the nut disaster.

nearly 8lbs lost in 5 weeks is amazing @WellTidy, I lose at such a snail's pace

@purplegirl13 have a blast at Katherine Ryan! food for the soul indeed :)

WellTidy · 11/02/2022 10:11

swimming this time last year, I lost the first bit of weight quickly, but then took ages to lose more. From now on I won’t even expect a pound a week off. You’re a lot lighter than me and I would expect, if I ever were to get to your weight which I really hope I can, to be more like a quarter to half a pound a week off, but not every week. I think you’re doing brilliantly. And spin classes too, you’ve totally got this.

Morningmaeve · 11/02/2022 13:20

Happy weekend all - I'm the same weight. No change for the second week. But I think that's fair given how I've eaten this week.
B avocado on toast
L carrot & coriander soup with a little bit of sourdough bread
D salmon fillet with lentils, feta and peas
Might have a glass of wine as it's Friday night
Around 1300 calories says MFP
Current weight 8st 13.2
Next target 8st 12lb

purplegirl13 · 14/02/2022 10:46

Happy Monday! Dare I ask how your weekends were?

@Knittingnanny2 Did you get out your SSS clothes?
@WellTidy I've never been to five guys even though there's one nearby. The only veggie 'burger' option is a cheese toastie. How are the fries? Oh, and there is a new season of 'you are what you eat available on Channel 5 catch up. Enjoy! :)

I briefly weighed yesterday morning and I am up to 10st5 but that's no surprise at all. Too much food and alcohol recently.

Katherine Ryan was AMAZING!!

I'm now home with no plans of going to stay anywhere for at least a month, it makes it much harder to control my food when away. Saying that, I've got 4 lunches out this week (eek!)

Today is brunch with a friend shortly where I will have poached eggs on toast (and more than likely to give in to a side of either halloumi/beans/avocado - only one and not all!)
No breakfast today in an effort to curb calories
Dinner will be rice and dal.

What is everyone else eating today?

WellTidy · 14/02/2022 12:53

Morning all

Sounds great purple. The five guys fries are to die for - either the normal ones or the Cajun ones. If you go (and a cheese toastie isnt a great pull, granted!), then order the small portion of chips as my local one gives massive portions. I always have the soft drink as they are unlimited and they have all the amazing Diet Coke flavours, I’m like a teenager with them.

Happy to be down 1/4lb to 9st 11lb today. This is half term for us so lots planned, mostly involving multiple snacks. Can’t go to the cinema (twice) without snacks!

purplegirl13 · 14/02/2022 13:48

I am pleased with my choices for brunch, 2 poached eggs on sourdough, with halloumi (but it was only a small piece). I debated getting a sugary cappuccino on the way home, but resisted. Little steps.

@WellTidy Nooo!! Don't tell me the fries are nice! Well done on your continuing losses

SwimmingOnEggshells · 14/02/2022 15:22

@purplegirl13 it's the cumulation small positive choices that make the difference I think. Sounds like you're in the mindset again which is great.

@morningmaeve I made carrot, coriander and lentil soup on friday actually, snap! I had it again for lunch today and added a load of tabasco to it. I find the lentils make it quite filling.

Not a fantastic weekend for me again, drank wine Friday-Sunday, ate a lot of ice cream, steak, a burger... But! I did an exercise class on Saturday morning and another one again today - spinning and weights mixed.

Today has started off ok - the usual oats and yoghurt for late breakfast, carrot and lentil soup for lunch and then I'm having homemade nando's chicken with rice and sweet potatoes for dinner.

Haven't weighed in a few days, but plan to tomorrow after my spin class. I'm always lighter after my spin classes because of all the sweating I do so I know I'm likely to get a more favourable result.

Morningmaeve · 14/02/2022 15:49

I've had mushrooms on toast for breakfast and leftovers (gnocchi and veg - small portion) for lunch. Making a chickpea curry tonight. Big news here is have started C25K again! Started with week 3 and it went okay - must try to stick to it!

WellTidy · 14/02/2022 15:53

I’ve had a Nutella crepe Blush. My fitness pal puts it at 434 calories. I have no idea if this is too low or not, but it was really good. It’s all I’ve had, and we’re having Thai green chicken curry with green beans for dinner. Rice and Thai crackers to go with.

I’ve walked, but only for an hour today.

Great work on the c25k @Morningmaeve and on the classes @SwimmingOnEggshells

purplegirl13 · 14/02/2022 15:57

I'm going to have to add in exercise aren't I??

Having read @Morningmaeve's update I will also try C25K again. I think my achilles issues are resolved but only one way to find out!

purplegirl13 · 14/02/2022 15:59

@WellTidy I'm also fed up that if we want 'treat' food we have to skip a meal so it all balances out. We've not chance of getting nearer the lower end of 9st otherwise.

I am certain I would be at least 11st7+ if not for the fact I'm still clinging on to this thread

purplegirl13 · 14/02/2022 16:00

*no chance

WellTidy · 14/02/2022 16:22

@purplegirl13 being such a shortie is so bloody unfair. It really is. My TDEE is something like 1300 calories. I have no chance at all of losing weight unless I also exercise but I don’t like exercise and that is why I walk with podcasts on.

I could go on for hours about how I feel when I see people talk about losing weight, and at around 2lb a week, at around 1800 calories daily Envy

In all honesty, I often skip a meal to have a treat breakfast of a Nutella crepe or a n almond croissant. I will have a snack early afternoon and then make dinner for about 6pm, when I’m practically eating my own arm. I know it’s not a healthy approach, but I don’t do well when I think I have to deny myself things. Not sure how well this approach will work if I ever get down to the low 9s/high 8s though and want to keep losing.

purplegirl13 · 14/02/2022 16:34

AND aging is playing a factor here as well! I used to be able to eat mindfully and add in the odd gym session to lose 0.5lb a week easily. WFH hasn't helped either as it was easy to get 8 - 10k steps iwithout trying just walking to and from the tube stations/up and down escalators etc!

WellTidy · 14/02/2022 16:45

But we must not let ourselves be thwarted by these things (unfair as they are) @purplegirl13! We will come out on top!!

purplegirl13 · 14/02/2022 16:48

@WellTidy absolutely! We can do it and still eat almond croissants treats, just not every day!

Knittingnanny2 · 14/02/2022 19:09

@purplegirl13 no not yet! Got bogged down with endless paperwork just to get there! Planning on travelling light as staying with family and will have access to a washing machine. I’m going to chose one colour and make everything go with that!

purplegirl13 · 15/02/2022 09:27

I stuck to my calorie count yesterday and actually came in by under 150! I had cauliflower rice instead of 'proper' rice for dinner.

No breakfast for me, currentling sipping on a green tea. I'm off to a burger place with my nephew for lunch and will be having a halloumi burger and cheesy fries for lunch. Dinner will be leftover dal and cauliflower rice again.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 15/02/2022 11:19

Gah, 8st11.25lbs after my spin class today. My weight hasn't budged in weeks! It's my weekends, I ruin all my midweek good work with way too much excess on the weekends.

I think ageing is a factor for me too @purplegirl13. And re exercise; even though I'm doing lots of it, I'm not losing so don't feel about it you're not doing anything!

And in the classes I go to, everyone has pretty much been the same size for the three years on and off that I've been going. And some of the women do 8 classes a week! Shock

WellTidy · 15/02/2022 14:48

I think it must be really hard to lose more at 8st 12.25lb, swimming. But you’re doing all the right things. Weekends have to have special things in them! What weight/size are you aiming for?

I ‘lost’ 1/4lb overnight so I am 9st 10.75lb today. I am however expecting the four hotel chocolat Valentine’s Day champagne truffles to catch up with me soon (241cals, according to MFP). I had hoped to walk this afternoon but it is pouring down here and I’m not sure I’m in the mood for wet feet. The super comfortable and not at all stylish sketchers trainers that I walk in are fabric, and if it’s raining or if the ground is wet, my feet get soaked.
