@Knittingnanny me too, I have my meals planned which I find always helps. I'm out for dinner twice this week so will make sensible choices during the day to help balance things out.

Knittingnanny · 08/11/2021 09:26

Well I was brace enough to weigh this morning g and as expected had put on a few pounds so just hovering below 9 at 8.13 so that has spurred me on to get back to 8.10 which was my lowest a couple of months ago

Knittingnanny · 08/11/2021 09:27

Brave not brace
I do wish there was an edit function!

Morningmaeve · 08/11/2021 09:31

Fab bargain @Knittingnanny and a great incentive to stay on track. I’ve made an orzo, asparagus, lemon and pine nut recipe from that book I think @purplegirl13 but I found it online. Might have to invest in the book.
B porridge and a few nuts
L carrot and lentil soup
D pasta - not diet friendly but I’ll have a small portion
No wine and no snacks!

Morningmaeve · 08/11/2021 09:41

Correct user name this time! Sorry to confuse you!

purplegirl13 · 08/11/2021 10:00

@Knittingnanny that was to be expected, but well done for getting on the scales to check. Are you all recovered?

@Morningmaeve is your soup made using a recipe, or a 'bung together and hope the best' meal? I really like the book as I always run out of steam for evening meals so it's great to do a bit of chopping and then throw everything in the oven and forget about it for 30mins or so.

Don't forget drink water, water, water today :)

I had a friend visiting over the weekend and she helped me be brutal with some decluttering. So a bag went to the charity shop, I have listed some stuff on a free local app for collection, and I have a bag for eBay. The ebay stuff has a deadline of mid-Dec - if it's not posted/sold then off to charity shop it goes!

Knittingnanny · 08/11/2021 22:35

Yes fully recovered now thanks and booster jab booked for 2 weeks time

Morningmaeve · 09/11/2021 07:04

www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/spiced-carrot-lentil-soup
It is this one @purplegirl13 but I added some garlic and a leek at the start after the spices and I chopped carrots rather than grating as was quicker.

Morningmaeve · 09/11/2021 07:10

I had a lot of carrots to use up so it seemed a good choice. DH’s solution was to make carrot cake with buttercream frosting…

purplegirl13 · 09/11/2021 07:26

@Morningmaeve thanks for the link, looks lovely - will be the soup I make this weekend. Love your DH's idea :) but you did the 'right' thing.

@Knittingnanny glad to hear you've got your booster booked in

@Sooverthemill @Dancingonmoonlighthow are you both doing?

I was feeling so proud of myself last night of sticking to plan all day, but was feeling hungry in the evening so ended up having a couple of crumpets with jam. I'm not an evening snacker so was genuinely hungry.

I need to buy some bananas, and maybe boil some eggs for occasions like this. Any other veggie suggestions for something I could easily eat? I need to ensure I'm getting enough protein with my meals, to help keep me full between meals.

B - greek yogurt & raspberries
L - black bean soup
D - puy & leek gratin, with rocket salad
S - boiled egg

Morningmaeve · 09/11/2021 08:29

@purplegirl13 I sometimes have one of these - they are usually on a multi-buy deal and come in different flavours but I like the vanilla best. But as you are already eating Greek yoghurt for breakfast it might be too similar?

Badgerstmary · 09/11/2021 09:12

Hi, well done to everyone that is managing to lose, maintain or just even put a little on in tricky circumstances. I had been struggling as I’d had one bug after another since term started, although not covid. I now have just over 5 weeks before my 50th & I am determined to not be overweight for it. I need to lose at least another 4 pounds initially. I restarted tracking yesterday.

purplegirl13 · 09/11/2021 10:15

@Morningmaeve good call on the yogurt, I'll get a couple during my next grocery order. I do have greek yogurt for breakfast most days, but a yogurt as the odd snack would work (and better than reaching for toast)

@Badgerstmary welcome back, what have you got planned food-wise for today?

Sooverthemill · 11/11/2021 09:52

@purplegirl13 sorry, very distracted. I'm kind of okay, a flare up,of symptoms after inadvertently eating normal,Greek yoghurt instead of lactose free. I couldn't work it out until I looked at the labels of every and Sainsbury's had substituted without telling me the non lactose free yoghurt which I eat tons of. And now I'm just trying to get back to feeling well again.

Sooverthemill · 12/11/2021 10:51

How is everyone?

Morningmaeve · 12/11/2021 17:34

Okay here @Sooverthemill but it hasn’t been a great week so I didn’t weigh… feel I have lost my focus a bit now I’ve got under 9 stone but I know if I don’t get it back I’ll soon be back over 9 stone…

purplegirl13 · 15/11/2021 11:19

@Sooverthemill how are you feeling now?

@Morningmaeve I've got the carrot & lentil soup in the slow cooker now, and hoping for some renewed focus

I have lost all motivation but I've officially jumped over the 10st mark and weighed in at 10st1 on Friday :(

@Knittingnanny how are you?

I was out for dinner 3 times last week which was lovely, but not so good for the waistline.

Today
B - greek yogurt & blackberries
L - carrot & lentil soup
D - rice, dal, and saag

Knittingnanny · 15/11/2021 12:19

@purplegirl13 not too bad, I’ve kept fairly on track for most of the week then had a rotten migraine which led to eating white carbs for a couple of days! So I didn’t weigh todAy, will wait til end of the week

purplegirl13 · 16/11/2021 09:29

@Knittingnanny white carbs are horribly addictive for me, I can't have bread in the house! Hope you're all recovered from the migraine now

I wanted freezer food last night, so had sweet potato fries with a veggie burger (burger only, no bun)

Today:
nothing no far and will try to hold off until lunch-time
L - tomato & feta soup
D - rice, dal, and saag
S - greek yogurt & blackberries

Morningmaeve · 16/11/2021 10:03

Hello all - I feel I am more focused this week though I am aware it is only Tuesday Grin Today’s plan…
B porridge with pear
L small mozzarella and tomato panini
D chickpea curry and rice
I find it hard to drink enough water when the weather is colder so have a stash of herbal teas
No snacks and no booze

purplegirl13 · 16/11/2021 11:30

@Morningmaeve same here, after your prompt the other week I make sure I fill up a litre jug of water so I know I need to drink it as a minimum amount.
We can manage 3 days on track until Friday weigh in, right?

I got hungry so had my late breakfast of yogurt & berries.

I've only had alcohol the last 2 Fridays but had been a lot, so I'm trying to stick to no alcohol until the 27th when I stay with friends.

Sooverthemill · 16/11/2021 13:27

@purplegirl13 sorry for the delay! Feeling a bit better but not 100%. Trying to carry on eating sensibly and I'm a tad under 9 stone still. Even harder than usual as I'm trying to empty the freezer so I can defrost it and we have a lot of crap in there!

purplegirl13 · 16/11/2021 17:50

@Sooverthemill no need to apologise! I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.

I'm feeling it's getting harder to stay on track as it's getting colder and darker each day, but I really need to get this in check.

neverenoughchelseaboots · 19/11/2021 01:07

Hey everyone, hope you're all having a good week.

Starting weight, the sequel: 11st 8lbs
Previous lowest weight: 8st 10.04lbs
First target weight: 9st 7lbs

I shan't be doing any dieting for a few weeks yet. But hoping to lose the first stone through water levels etc and just being able to get out to walk the dog again. I wanted to get back to joining in though and give myself a reason to keep one eye on things, while still allowing myself plenty of necessary calories for breast feeding this little one.

Excuse all typos for the foreseeable future, I'm very tired! 😂
