*I'm weighing in a 10st 11.2 9st 11.2 today (up from 10st10 9st10)

Still not used to my weight starting with 9!!

Dancingonmoonlight · 20/08/2021 10:03

Thanks everyone.
I weighed this morning and my weight is 9st 9.0 pounds.

I had a slice of low cal toast today with fruit and coffee for breakfast.
Bread is my enemy so I’m not sure why I ate it. Bit annoyed at myself.

Knittingnanny · 20/08/2021 11:52

I’m still stuck at 8 st 9/10 depending on which tile my scales are on!
On September 1st last year I was 10st 4 my heaviest ever apart from 3 pregnancies so was hoping to be pre pregnancy 8 st 7 ( 1981) by this September 1st but might have to admit defeat!
Hope today’s weigh ins are good for everyone
Making cakes today for youngest grandchild’s it’s birthday party tomorrow so will try very hard not to lick the bowl

Dancingonmoonlight · 20/08/2021 13:03

Knittingnanny I’d love to be 8st 9.

This thread is great motivation.

Sooverthemill · 20/08/2021 15:07

I'm 8:12 again which is good because it's helped me work out that I really am still lactose intolerant ( annoying). I'vetried to eat sensibly this week and avoided chips! I love carbs but am also gluten intolerant and allergic to raw fruit and veg. And I used to think I was normal! Today we have a treat as a neighbour went to waitrose and got me one of their 'Asian' 'takeaway ' bags which I love but as we rarely get food from there it's not often we indulge. Hoping to lose the stubborn last 4 pounds by end of September

SwimmingOnEggshells · 20/08/2021 17:29

Hi everyone, it's been ages since I've been on here. I haven't had the motivation to diet at all and my weight has been stuck at 8'10 for ages. I've been going to the gym and I think mentally that's given me a free pass to eat and drink badly...this weekend we've friends staying with us so I can't see me getting back at it properly until Monday.

Will pop back then and will catch up with all your progress x

purplegirl13 · 21/08/2021 10:53

@Dancingonmoonlight I struggle with bread too. I can easily go through 6/8 slices+ without even realising

@Knittingnanny I hope you licked the bowl, that's the bakers treat! You're doing well to stick to 8st 9/10

@Sooverthemill Ooh I hope you enjoyed your Waitrose treat.

@SwimmingOnEggshells lovely to see you back, you've been missed. You have done so well to still be under 9st! I would count that as a win Smile

Trying to get back on track, will do my best to limit processed food/sweet treats - only for a few days so I can 're-set'

Today's plan (if I can stick to it)
B - nothing
L - www.hellofresh.co.uk/recipes/halloumi-pepper-and-sweetcorn-tacos-5e456b07071c7a64525ba9bc
D - choosingchia.com/northern-style-vegan-thai-coconut-soup/
S - greek yoghurt, raspberries and flaked almonds

Knittingnanny · 21/08/2021 11:24

I did lick the bowl.......

purplegirl13 · 21/08/2021 12:44

@knittingnanny I'm pleased to hear you did thing

purplegirl13 · 22/08/2021 10:58

*did the right thing

My good intentions yesterday only lasted a few hours, I ended up popping out to the shops for ice cream. I had the halloumi tacos for lunch and dinner.

Another day, another start!

B - greek yogurt and banana (having now so a late breakfast)
L - tbc something light like crackers with boursin/salsa
D - the coconut noodle soup I didn't make yesterday choosingchia.com/northern-style-vegan-thai-coconut-soup/

Daisymae15 · 22/08/2021 16:30

I hope you don't mind me joining as I'm desperate to loose weight.
I'm 61, 5ft 1 at a push weighing 14stone.
During covid I battled cancer which I've just been given the all clear.
I was shocked to see how much I weigh.
Photos were taken on Friday and they have given me a kick up the bum.

Sooverthemill · 23/08/2021 06:46

@Daisymae15 welcome! I weighed 10stone 6 after my cancer treatment. Which was the heaviest I had ever weighed ( steroids and always feeling sick and the only thing that helped was stooge like mashed potato and crisps). I waited until I felt well enough to start walking 5 minutes a day ( my chemo was really tough and I now have chronic fatigue induced by chemo) and built up walking slowly. I then started to eat 'sensibly'. It got tougher when my DD became seriously ill a few months later and I lived in hospital with her but I tried to really be mindful of what I ate. It took about 18 months to reach my goal of 8 st 7 and it's taken me a while to put on these few pounds I need to shift again. It will take time but look after your body x

Sooverthemill · 23/08/2021 06:46

@Daisymae15 I'm now 63 btw

Dancingonmoonlight · 23/08/2021 23:22

I was out and unprepared all day yesterday. I ended up eating a grilled chicken burger and lots of fries. I didn’t even enjoy them. Felt so bloated yest.

Today I have been very mindful and didn’t even have a coffee when I met a friend.
I don’t know if it’s because I consumed so many calories yesterday but today I have been craving high cal food.
I gave in and had two biscuits this evening but I’m craving crisps. Maybe it was the salt yesterday?
Trying to stay strong. I think I’m an all or nothing person.
After a nice loss last week, I feel I’ve gone backwards.

Teaand · 24/08/2021 18:50

Hello I managed to lose the weight I put on with my first visitors then put it back on with the second group.

I have 2 weeks ish before some bigger events and school re starting so would like to buckle down on lose what I have put on and a bit more. I have meal planned for this week and rin twice so hopefully that will have a postive impact.

Last autumn when I can out of baggy summer clothes I realised I couldn't fit in jeans or winter clothes i have checked and these or much better now.

Camrette · 25/08/2021 07:30

Hi everyone I was on these threads ages ago but gave up. Mainly because I find it so shit how few calories my height allows me just to maintain. But I weighed myself yesterday and I’ve piled it on again over the last couple of months so need to reign it in.

The reasons I struggle:

  1. 1200 calories seems tiny to me when until a few years ago I could eat what I wanted (and ate a lot) without putting on weight
  2. It’s vanity weight I want to lose. I’m still technically a healthy weight but I look better when I weigh 4/5 kg less. This means I constantly sabotage myself by thinking “it doesn’t matter, I’m not that bad...”
  3. I love food
  4. I love food
  5. I love food

I think I’m initially going to try just cutting portion size rather than restricting foods as I have no will power.

Sooverthemill · 25/08/2021 08:59

@Camrette I think I agree with everything you say! I am slap bang in the middle of healthy BMI and the only thing I'm really unhappy about is when I am naked and in front of a full length mirror I can see my blobby tummy which I never ever had. But I have a very stressful life and occasionally I allow myself to medicate with food ( at the moment I have a delicious box of 12 truffles from books books sent to me by my DD1 who knew I was down, I am having one after dinner at night and if DH is around he gets one too). Very occasionally I have a glass of wine. Otherwise I eat 35 g of organic granola with 50g of lactose free yoghurt, a bowl of soup at lunch with a half slice of gluten free bread and a few gluten free oat things with hummus ( not chickpea but butter bean) and I eat a small portion of whatever I make for dinner. But last night after an absolutely sh*t day I had egg and chips for dinner. Not a huge portion .

My weakness is ready meals as I am often unable to find time to cook properly ( or prep) and so having a Charlie Bigham meal in the fridge means we eat! DH takes a different load and doesn't cook ( he only does really fancy stuff). I need to stay healthy as I'm 63 have arthritis and chronic fatigue after cancer and I have a chronically sick DD now age 22 who I have to care for 24/7. If I do t do it there is no one else. Again, DH can do in an emergency but she needs privacy

Life is tough and 1200 calories seems very small

Sooverthemill · 25/08/2021 08:59

^booja booja

Camrette · 25/08/2021 09:16

Oh gosh @Sooverthemill it sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Eating well for health reasons sounds like a sensible approach.

purplegirl13 · 25/08/2021 10:43

@Daisymae15 welcome. Sounds like you've been through a lot, start off gently.

@Dancingonmoonlight there's a few of us on here that all or nothing people! How have the last couple of days been?

@Teaand meal planning sounds like a good call.

@Camrette welcome back. I agree with everything you've said except I'm still in the 'overweight' zone, and having lost 12-13lbs I'm now fed up and lacking motivation

@Sooverthemill you're doing well to not inhale those chocs Smile

I need a re-set as the scales are showing a definite gain and I'm up to 9st12 (from 9st10 a few weeks ago). I just can't bear to use MFP again although might have to.

I've been feeling good about my loss but I did not like a photo taken of me yesterday (but a good reminder I'm still overweight).

I'm stopping the anti-nausea meds today as I am sleeping too long, pus napping and I feel heavily sedated for the short period I am awake. I need to be ready to start my new job next week

I am going out for a walk to wake myself up and buy salad supplies for lunch. It's a start...

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 25/08/2021 13:04

Hello, can I join you? I’ve been on another weight loss thread for the last couple of months but it has tailed off and rather than continuing it on my own I’d prefer to join another group - partly because I need external influence to keep me on track!

I’m 5’0 and my weight stats as at last Friday are as follows:

Starting weight 62.6kg
Current weight 57.0kg
Loss for August: 0.3kg
Goal weight 50kg

I’ve completely fallen off the wagon over the last few weeks, there has been too much summer socialising and I need to stop drinking all the wine…I’m not sure I’m in the right frame of mind just yet but the kids go back to school next Thursday so that’s definitely going to be a new start…

Dancingonmoonlight · 25/08/2021 20:41

Hi DuPainDuVinDuFromage
Your figures look great to me. Your starting weight is my current weight.
I’m out tomorrow evening and already know the temptation to eat exactly what I want from the menu will be strong :-(

I’m currently 9st 7 pds. I was hoping to be 9st 6pds when I weigh on Friday but I doubt I will. Maybe I will weigh in on Sat morning instead to give me more of a chance

purplegirl13 It’s hard to get into the weight loss zone. I can’t do it unless I record my food intake and weight loss daily.

Camrette. 1200 cals is a small amount but maybe increase fruit, veg intake if your meals are too small? I am not good at this myself but know what I should be doing.

Sooverthemill You have a lot of willpower. Yesterday I had a coffee in a place they offer you a free chocolate as well. I couldn’t even resist that!

Knittingnanny · 25/08/2021 23:53

My knitting group has restarted and I was very tempted today by the lovely cakes but managed to resist! I have an obsession with pistachio nuts though instead.
Planning to weigh Saturday morning and hoping to have gone down a lb as have been stuck for weeks!

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 26/08/2021 06:50

Thanks @dancingonmoonlight - I’m back into the healthy bmi zone so that is a positive m the problem is that if I don’t make a conscious effort my weight just goes up, so it really has to be a lifetime of change…

Good luck with your meal out - are you able to look at the menu before you go so that you can decide in advance what you’re having?

Sooverthemill · 26/08/2021 09:18

@Knittingnanny very jealous you get to go to a RL knitting group! I do online book groups and have just starting a very complicated KAL for a jumper
