I had a mixed week I made it to my half way piont earlier in the week. But then I have eaten rubbish since as we have guests over and have been to frightened to weigh myself since

Morningmaeve · 14/08/2021 20:18

Hello @purplegirl13 and all - haven’t weighed yet after holiday! Start of week went well but lost focus midweek as so often happens. I will weigh next week and hoping to be hovering around the 9 stone mark… am beginning to wonder if I should be happy with that as I am really struggling to get below it? Though in an ideal world I’d like to lose at least another 4lb…

Knittingnanny · 16/08/2021 00:00

@Morningmaeve me too , wish I could be happy at 9
I went down to 8st 9.5 a couple of weeks ago but can’t sustAin it

Sooverthemill · 17/08/2021 08:58

Oh no I've weighed myself and am 9 stone! Very annoying. I've been testing out my gluten and lactose intolerances over the last week an dim 100% still lactose intolerant and I think that may be why I've got the extra couple of pounds. I'm going to try to have a really good sensible eating week to see if that helps. I feel very bloated ( obviously) and not that comfortable. Really having a hard time with very poorly DD and. Sleep and healthy eating is very tricky when she is this bad. So I end up having tea and toast ( gluten free) at 3 in the morning which can't be helping. I try to have a nap most days but it's not always possible. Poor DD is averaging 2 hours a day sleep.

Knittingnanny · 17/08/2021 09:06

@Sooverthemill that’s hard for you both, no point worrying about the 9 st today though, you have too many other things going on at the moment
Day off calorie counting today as we are off to Eastbourne for a day trip, looking at digital pianos and fish and chips on the pier!

purplegirl13 · 17/08/2021 13:11

@Morningmaeve how do you feel at 9st? Do you feel comfortable, and clothes fit nicely? If so, maybe stick to 9st (ish) and keep an eye on the scales so the weight doesn't creep up.

@Teaand can you get yourself back on track this week?

@Knittingnanny have a lovely, lovey day!

@Sooverthemill Poor you and DD, it does sound like a difficult time. If focusing on the healthy eating is making you feel bad, give yourself a break.
Equally, after having been on the white food diet for weeks I know it makes me feel rubbish not getting the right nutrients, and I then crave sugar because I'm fatigued/wanting comfort (in the form of cake). I am now looking forward to eating fresh fruit and veg (in small measures). How about getting in fruit that's easy to snack on like banana's, grapes, apples etc? Or having boiled eggs, or other types of protein to eat quickly? Omelettes/scrambled eggs are my go to when I'm struggling with a flare up

I have picked up some anti-nausea meds so I'm hoping to feel better on that front this week. I slept most of yesterday and am feeling wiped/heavily sedated today, the anti-nausea meds can cause drowsiness so I am sure it is this. Will decrease dose if I need to

I am eating a little better now, not calories counting but trying to use up what I have in and stick to minimally processed.

Today:
B - greek yoghurt and blackberries with mixed nuts, flaxseeds & honey
L - rice and dhal (from freezer)
S - grapes
D - tbc

On another note, I have an interview tomorrow (low key informal chat) for only 20mins. For those of you around a few months ago, you'll remember I was a nervous wreck and blabbered through my last interview. I KNOW I can interview well so am trying to remain calm. So far I am not feeling nervous at all.

How are you getting on @BlodwinTheThird

Sooverthemill · 17/08/2021 16:33

@purplegirl13 excellent idea but sadly I'm allergic to most raw fruit and vegetables! It's very annoying

purplegirl13 · 17/08/2021 16:53

@Sooverthemill oh that is annoying!

Knittingnanny · 17/08/2021 18:10

Here it is! Then fish and chips, large for him small for me!

oooh @Knittingnanny you're looking very svelte!

Knittingnanny · 17/08/2021 18:53

@purplegirl13 thank you!

purplegirl13 · 17/08/2021 19:00

Logging in for the day:

B - greek yoghurt and blackberries with mixed nuts, flaxseeds & honey
L - rice and dhal (from freezer)
S - grapes, a scoop of cookie dough ice cream
D - oven chips, fried egg, baked beans

I'm happy with that, although haven't moved much. Will try and improve on this tomorrow.

Teaand · 17/08/2021 20:22

I am trying to stay on track but it's been hard with arguing children a stressful work day after little sleep.

Today I grabbed a ceral bar this morning on as I was running late I had an omelette for lunch (after a quick run) and had home made leek and potato soup for tea with a couple of slices of bread. So not to bad fruit and veg light but I am running low before a food delivery. I am just trying to stay away from the chocolate in the cupboard I am hormonal and am craving sweet things.

It's going to be tough to stay on track the next few weeks we have a succession of visitors and birthdays. I think I might have to accept I will be doing well to maintain my stone loss and focus on maintaining that and the start to try and lose again when the school goes back. Do maybe exercising when possible and smaller portions.

Morningmaeve · 17/08/2021 21:34

I feel pretty happy at around 9 stone @purplegirl13 but I definitely feel I could lose a little bit more - especially around my middle as I am apple shaped. I think like @Teaand says I’ll be happy to maintain for next few weeks and then go at things with new focus from September. I am craving fish and chips now @Knittingnanny. Hopefully those extra few pounds were an aberration @Sooverthemill and they’ll have gone by the next time you weigh.

purplegirl13 · 18/08/2021 13:11

@Teaand I think you have to be realistic, and maintaining sounds sensible

@Morningmaeve same goes for you, renewed focus when the time is right

I am stuck at 9st 10 and would like to see a small loss on Friday, I'll feel much better the lower end of 9st (and be able to get into more of my clothes!)

So my interview went ok this morning, it was a quick informal chat (more to gauge personality fit rather than experience) and I got offered the job!! It's a 3 month contract only, but I'm very happy with that. It's a great name to have on my CV and lines up with my previous experience in the same sector. Once all the paperwork is completed, I envisage a start date of early Sept. I can now enjoy the next couple of weeks off knowing I'll have some money coming in.

I'm now off to meet a friend for lunch and I plan on eating whatever I like (and maybe a cheeky celebratory glass of wine)

Hope you are all having a lovely day x

Teaand · 18/08/2021 14:56

Congratulations purplegirl13

purplegirl13 · 18/08/2021 16:01

@Teaand Thanks!

I had a halloumi burger and chips for lunch, no wine.

Morningmaeve · 18/08/2021 20:18

Yay @purplegirl13 great news! Your lunch sounds yummy too.

purplegirl13 · 19/08/2021 10:24

@Morningmaeve thanks, I am looking forward to being able to spend money on something other than groceries!

What is everyone doing about clothing? I bought a few tops/skirts from ebay last summer that are keeping me going since I'm mostly home in elasticated comfy clothes.

I am currently in New Look jeans (size 12 with a LOT of stretch) that are looking quite baggy but the size 10 won't go above my knees. Fellow shorties - where do you buy your jeans from? New Look were the only place I found jeans that fit reasonably well (especially around the calves/ankles).

Sooverthemill · 19/08/2021 10:26

@purplegirl13 I have many pairs of jeans! I like Boden for their petite range, gap cheeky straight ( ankle) or pretty much any cropped Levi 501

purplegirl13 · 19/08/2021 10:41

@Sooverthemill thanks! Admittedly, I haven't looked for years since discovering the New Look jeans (which I never loved but they did the job after not finding anything else).

I have noted your suggestions for when I go jeans shopping. I am waiting to get to the lower end of 9st before shopping for new clothes. I've been so reluctant to buy clothing in a larger size, I realise I've bought very little in the past few years.

Morningmaeve · 19/08/2021 18:53

I am 5ft 2in and have bought all my recent jeans from M&S in the short leg length. Bought two pairs of the last straight leg design I liked as it is such a pain to find jeans that fit properly!

Dancingonmoonlight · 19/08/2021 22:48

Hello everyone. Would it be ok to join? I'm 5ft 2". I always weighed around the 9st mark but over the past year, I have indulged in eating whatever I liked whenever I liked. I saw a photo of myself in May and the shock caused me to weigh myself and I was 10st 7pds.

I lost a couple of pounds and then sent on holidays and put it up again. I started trying to lose weight properly when I returned from holidays.

My starting weight was 10st 3 pds. I weighed myself today and I am 9st 9 pounds. I'm still in the overweight category - I think I change from overweight to 'normal' at 9st 7 pounds.

I weigh every day as I find it a good reminder to watch my calorie intake.

I'll probably be up again tomorrow morning. I'd really like to be below 9st 7 pounds by the time school returns . The other mums are all size 6 and I'm always fed up when I compare myself to them.

I'm mainly cutting out sugar and trying to reduce calories.

Morningmaeve · 20/08/2021 09:06

Welcome @Dancingonmoonlight - I am also 5ft 2in and today I weigh 9 stone 0.2lb. I have remained basically stable at around this weight for a couple of months now. I was a stone and a bit more heavier when I decided to lose some weight and for us shorter people losing a stone makes a big difference. I feel loads better at this weight. I’d like to lose another four pounds as my next target but I’m finding it really tough. I mainly calorie count/portion control and weigh on a Friday.

purplegirl13 · 20/08/2021 09:35

@Dancingonmoonlight welcome. I'm 5'1 and in March weighed 10st8.8.

I'm also check my weight most days but take it with a pinch of salt, and only record my weight on Fridays (which is weigh in day for a few of us on the thread).

@Morningmaeve thanks for the jeans rec, adding it to the list!

I'm weighing in a 10st 11.2 today (up from 10st10). I've been on anti-nausea meds all week and they are working so that might account for the gain (or it's a fluctuation). The meds are making me soooo sleepy though that I feel asleep at 8pm last night. As an insomniac, I am loving this! Feeling drowsy during the day is not fun though so I'm taking one less pill today.

I've had scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast, will have greek yogurt and berries later in the day. Rest of the meals tbc.

Good luck to those weighing in today.
