Apologies, cannot remember who's idea this was for a thread title, but I have stolen it.

9st3.75 this morning, meaning I am 0.25 down from the start of April. Not great, but I did get up to 9st7 in April, so I'll take that. Would be delighted if I could lose a pound this month. Lets hope the weather picks up, I'm sure that will help everyone.

Wowzers that's amazing Nutella. Great reassurance for you!

stressbandit · 13/05/2021 10:44

Is anyone else obsessed with weighing themselves now! For years I've always hid away from the scales now I find it amazing how much my weight fluctuates though out the day. It's annoying my partner but it's really interesting to me.

NutellaEllaElla · 13/05/2021 11:34

No, I find it worries me too much so I try to keep it to once a week.

Cuzco · 13/05/2021 11:58

It's tempting but I know it would do my head in so I stick to once per week. There are so many variables at play, and I'm so overweight I need to long at the long term!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 13/05/2021 13:36

I hate doing it daily but this week it's motivating me to keep on the straight and narrow! I'll go back to twice weekly soon. Hope everyone well. I had to have lunch @11amso I'll be hungry before dinner but I'm ready with a snack. Drink more water!

drspouse · 13/05/2021 14:38

I'm a once a week woman too, couldn't do it any other way!

TheHoneyBadger · 13/05/2021 18:18

Daily ish for me. I find I understand the picture then rather than get on the scales and go oh my god I'm two pound heavier than last week. I can see how much it fluctuates and know what I've been for most of the week.

No scales today. Late last night I felt like I'd been run over - horrible throbbing head, aching joints, blocked nose etc. Reaction to vaccine I guess. Couldn't sleep all night and then fell asleep at about 6am, slept through alarms and didn't wake till nearly 12 meaning ds missed school this morning! Doh.

So far today I have eaten some pringles I scrounged from ds. Not sure I can face standing up and cooking but if I do I think there are chipolata sausages that need using up so may just have those with scrambled eggs. I've literally been in bed all day. Still so achy and have bunged up nose and a bit of a temperature - hoping it' better tomorrow as I have the gym then work in the morning.

Very glad that was my second jab and I'm all done for now.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 13/05/2021 19:35

Oh no Honeybadger, I hope you'll feel better soon. Take care.

Logging myself for the day:
B: ONO
L: Ratatouille
D: mushroom and cheese omlette, first one in so long, a real sign I was gone way off.
S: apple and closed handful of almonds.

Octopus37 · 13/05/2021 20:08

@TheHoneyBadger hope you feel better soon, take it easy. Again not a good day food wise for me, tbh just feel very very tired, bad night last night. Really need to be feeling better so I can get on it properly. Hoping that will be the case after next week.

@TheHoneyBadger hope you feel better soon. Thankfully the side effects are short lived.

I’ve managed 2 bowls of shredded wheat and a banana today, no time to grab anything else breaks in work and I’m too tired to cook now after the gym. The kids were fed a takeaway tonight not that they minded.

Dp is here this weekend so will have to limit my food intake as we enjoy cooking together- that’s one thing I’m slowly missing- lots of sauces with my food!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 13/05/2021 21:19

You can have sauce but less and can have non-cream based sauces. I am in bed early again and it's been my saving grace this busy week. Hoping to sleep trough (rare!) Night all.

NutellaEllaElla · 13/05/2021 21:25

I've had success replacing creme fraiche with greek yoghurt for Stroganoff type creamy sauces, and also loooove Tzatziki, another greek yoghurt based sauce.

But yes, beurre blanc, bearnaise and the like ain't happening anytime soon.

So, I discovered a marvellous way of stopping my evening snacking! I had to sew on two buttons and that kept my hands fully occupied after dinner as we watched TV. Sadly, I don't think I have anymore similar tasks.

Anyways, teeth brushed, done for the day.
B: Yoghurt and OJ
L: Soup
D: Mushroom and spinach risotto
S: Victoria sponge cake (slices too small, too calorific, not worth it), orange twirl, fibre one cake bar

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 13/05/2021 21:29

Oh mushroom and spinach risotto Envy yum.

Cuzco · 13/05/2021 21:30

Checking in for accountability:
1335 calories. Only snack today is 14g of giant buttons sitting next to me ready to be enjoyed.
19,062 steps.
I was bloomin hungry this afternoon and my tummy was growling but I had more water and squash and got caught up in DC's bedtime and managed to last until dinner.

Cuzco · 13/05/2021 21:32

Thinking of Stroganoff, I've made this Pinch of Nom one before and it was good. If I do it again, I won't use quite as much Philadelphia though as it was a bit too thick/ cheesy for my taste though.

Pinotwoman82 · 13/05/2021 21:34

Hi all can I join? I was 9 stone 12 in March and have managed to get to 9 stone 3, but god some days are hard. Goal I think is 8 stone 12

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 13/05/2021 21:39

Welcome pinot and well done Cuzco!

NutellaEllaElla · 13/05/2021 21:41

Interesting recipe @Cuzco, I might try it. I usually put greek yoghurt in my stroganoff which is winner IMO but i'm curious to try the philadelphia.

NutellaEllaElla · 13/05/2021 21:41

Oh, forgot to say welcome @Pinotwoman82!

Octopus37 · 14/05/2021 07:31

@Pinotwoman82 welcome, love the user name. Your weight loss goal is similar to mine. @HeyGirlHeyBoy know what you mean about not getting to sleep through the night. Went to bed a 9 last night, but was woken several times for different reasons, DS woke me up when I'd bee asleep a few mins, then the dog, then DH getting home from work, then DS cause he couldnt sleep and wanted to swap beds. @NutellaEllaElla well done, relief for you that you've gone down again. @TheHoneyBadger glad that you are feeling better today

Thanks. Feel a bit better today thankfully. Gym delayed till tomorrow as my friend has to go into work early which is a bit of a relief to be honest. Just have work to deal with.

I'm up 0.4lbs on last Friday. That's a first since getting back on the wagon properly in February. I'm pretty constipated though so I'm hoping that is making a difference. Sorry if tmi.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 14/05/2021 07:54

No hope for me octopus, woken by ds at 3 and couldn't go back for well over an hour...
So I feel your pain.

8st 13.75 today Grin from 9st 3.5 last Fri. Delighted. Unfortunately not so organised today so will have to be mindful of that! Will do snack for lunch but get lunch in later so I don't get to that really hungry stage. Can honestly say no craving, no hunger, no feeling of restriction all week.

NutellaEllaElla · 14/05/2021 08:53

Blimey @HeyGirlHeyBoy, that's fantastic! You must be delighted! A lovely way to kick off the weekend.

Water water water everyone.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 14/05/2021 09:56

I am delighted thanks Nutella. And yet i am a bit annoyed with myself for not just doing things the simple way all along and stay away from overeating! Thanks for the water reminder!

Monochrome4 · 14/05/2021 10:08

Hello everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been on here for aaaaages. I actually had to go and find the Mindful March thread, scroll to the end for the April thread, then scroll to the end for the link to the May thread, then read all through it... that's how long it's been!

So last year I had great success getting down from 68kg to just under 61kg between August and December. Then Christmas and lockdown hit and I was back up to 63kg by the time schools opened. For the past few weeks since then I've stayed around 63kg which I'm pleased with, because it shows that if I'm not focussing on losing weight I do at least maintain and it's only things like Christmas and lockdowns that have pushed it up. I need to reduce my snacking habit, but other than that, I'm waiting for work to get quieter and then I'll start counting calories again and hopefully finally get to my goal of 60kg.

My only comment from reading through the thread today is just remember, you don't need to worry about too many takeaway chips, because they freeze. Just spread them out on a baking tray to freeze, then transfer to a bag. When you want them just stick them in the oven for 10 minutes and they're good as new. Of course there's still the potential to eat more than you intend in the first place, but knowing they're not going to waste at least helps a bit.

So hello Nutella, HeyGirl, Octopus, HoneyBadger, Hangover, Flowers and newbies as well.
