May I lose more this month

Apologies, cannot remember who's idea this was for a thread title, but I have stolen it.

9st3.75 this morning, meaning I am 0.25 down from the start of April. Not great, but I did get up to 9st7 in April, so I'll take that. Would be delighted if I could lose a pound this month. Lets hope the weather picks up, I'm sure that will help everyone.

I wish I didn't even like chocolate and cake tbh! It's never enough.

TheHoneyBadger · 11/05/2021 22:04

I made slow cooker beef stew today and have had two good bowls of it. I may have had a couple of beers today though which I'd actually forgotten about till I typed that Grin

Still calories in shouldn't be too bad and calories out will be 1900-1950. Would be nice for the scales to at least not have gone up.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 11/05/2021 22:06

Sounds lovely Honeybadger. It's easier to have none really Nutella but I massively admire your usual restraint. I am feeling in the zone these last few days which is super. In bed, skin and teeth gleaming Grin, next 2 days ono in fridge, tomorrow night's dinner defrosting. Organisation overall is key for me. Don't know if others find the same and I feel I'm more organised overall somehow..

Octopus37 · 12/05/2021 07:05

Well done @HeyGirlHeyBoy you're inspiring me. Know what you mean about being more organised, although I dont seem to be able to translate it to food somehow. I'm another one who struggles with no sugar thing, I have stopped when I did lo carb and the cravings do kind of go, but I didn't enjoy that way of eating overall. Very aware that I'm using food as a crutch at the moment. One day at a time.

Scales have stayed the same.

Off for my second jab this morning before going into work.

Have a good day everyone.

Cuzco · 12/05/2021 07:11

Some good results out there - well done all!

I haven't logged for a few days. We've had a few home cooked meals which I just can't calculate so I haven't bothered logging any. But I need to, to keep a lid on everything else I'm eating. It's not been great, but hopefully not too bad.

We've all got a cough and sore throat bug though. DS is home from nursery so yesterday was tough going. At least his Covid test came back negative so at least today we can go out for a walk! It's no fun looking after kids though when I'm not 100% myself. Fingers crossed this bug goes on it's merry way soon.

stressbandit · 12/05/2021 08:40

@HeyGirlHeyBoy I really want a Shepard's pie now but no one in my house eats it except me!

NutellaEllaElla · 12/05/2021 08:57

Yes you are on a roll @HeyGirlHeyBoy, your consistency is bound to pay off. I will try to gain inspiration from it.

I spent time with a friend yesterday where I was surrounded by cake, crisps and cheese. In the past I would have thrown the rule book out of the window but I measured out portions and managed to keep the day to 1500 cals. It might seem a small win but I'm proud nonetheless. Usually I can resist anything except temptation!

Hangoverstruggles · 12/05/2021 09:43

Helloooo!

Well I went all in last week. 5lb gain in 5 days 😁 I've had a birthday lunch and Chinese takeaway, lots of chocolate, meal out with friends, meal out with family and the grand finale of huge Indian takeaway and birthday cake last night for DHs birthday!

In hoping a couple lbs will be bloat / salt and drop off easily. I have 9 days on the straight & narrow before we go away for a hotel spa weekend.

Will take a leaf out of your book @HeyGirlHeyBoy and get my organisation on!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 12/05/2021 11:09

Oh jeepers I'm feeling the pressure now after being an absolute slattern for months Grin Thanks guys!! Wink

That will fall off for sure hangover. Octopus I know exactly I gave into it too those last few weeks, decided sugar was my balm and my reward... I ended up with headaches and low energy so I'm hoping the feeling good this week will keep me at it. So far, v little actual effort bar the organisation so I'm feeling lucky about that. The early nights are helping massively. I'm waking up all set for the day and looking forward to my breakfast... And lunch and dinner Grin I might even hit the 8s by the end of the week, that would bring me back to my last 8 weigh of 8st 13 31/12..imagine the week after Christmas I was lower than now. Summer clothes and brighter nights are going to help.

Onesnowynight · 12/05/2021 11:20

Hi everyone can I join. I weighed 13st, 3 weeks ago, so started back at the gym last Tuesday when the gyms opened after bank holiday (Wales), and today will be day 6 in attendance. I’m drinking lots of water but probably not enough, and have cut out all sugary snacks. I weighed last night and I am 12st 7. Just hope I can keep this up!

NutellaEllaElla · 12/05/2021 13:12

Welcome @Onesnowynight that's amazing progress in 3 weeks!

Onesnowynight · 12/05/2021 13:18

Thank you! I’m trying to be realistic as I know the rate of loss will ease up. But I’m hoping joining a group of you will give me the motivation to keep it up!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 12/05/2021 13:20

A great start for you! Welcome!

NutellaEllaElla · 12/05/2021 13:46

I have been panicking about my recent upward fluctuation. The last time I was at a happy number was 30th April and in that time we had the bank holiday weekend where I threw the rules out the window. I know it's only a week and a half ago but i'm 4lbs up on that and it isn't dropping off.

I have no idea how much I should be correcting myself right now. Before maintenance, I was on 1200 calories a day. Should I go back to that? TDEE calculator reckons my BMR is 1372 and my sedentary TDEE is 1646. I am currently working at home and going on an almost 6 mile walk every evening (still only around 10,000 steps in total).
I'm just scared of it going up and up and up.

NutellaEllaElla · 12/05/2021 13:49

Any thoughts/advice welcomed please.

TheHoneyBadger · 12/05/2021 16:11

You can see from those numbers there's no reason it should go up and up and up. Even if you eat 1600 a day you should get a slow loss. Don't panic. Don't forget cycle too - might be a part of it.

I'm tired and ravenous. Have just inhaled an individual pork pie - probably would have struggled to find anything in the house with that many calories in but there you go.

Heating up left over stew in the hopes that will fill me up as I can feel I'm in danger of scoffing loads.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 12/05/2021 17:38

Nutella, don't panic one bit - I did in October and it ended up in overeating and going up and up. I wouldn't correct now, it will go back once you stay on a reasonable keel. Stay patient, I'll bet the 1600 will bring it down just it might be a week or so.

TheHoneyBadger · 12/05/2021 20:38

I did get a bit munchy. Mini pork pie, bowl of doritoes, bowl of leftover stew and a few pieces of fudge.

I've burnt a lot today though somehow - should end up between 2400-2500.

I have a day off tomorrow but have plenty to do at home. Maybe burning calories might be able to incentivise me into housework that is piling up?

NutellaEllaElla · 12/05/2021 20:43

Teeth brushed, done for the day now. I had yoghurt and OJ for breakfast, soup for lunch and an amazing steak and veg dinner, plus some fondant fancies and the most ridiculously tiny slice of Victoria sponge cake you've ever seen.

Dancing to music while doing housework is an almost enjoyable way to spend calories, if you're easily fooled @TheHoneyBadger Grin

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 12/05/2021 21:06

Well done. Having your teeth brushed is the new black Grin Also smug and dentally clean, logging for the day.
ONO, oh baby I missed you so Grin
Chicken breast on soda bread
Chicken curry with rice
S: v decent handful almonds
Night night!

Octopus37 · 13/05/2021 07:06

Bad day yesterday, far too many carbs and thats coming from a carbs addict. 9st5 today, despite good steps (17000) and lots of water. feels like a temporary fluctuation though. Just wish I wasn't tired, got woken up in the night and couldn't sleep again for ages, cannot wait to be back in my own bed next week Also very aware that I'm eating my feelings cause I'm so overwhelmed. A day at a time, today I will do better. Welcome @Onesnowynight, thats an amazing loss. Well done @HeyGirlHeyBoy well done, I'm going to try and model some of your organisational tips

Cuzco · 13/05/2021 07:22

Weigh day here: down 300g to 77.1kg / 12.1 stone. Not amazing but at least not up. Back onto logging calories and trying to get a bit of a routine back including a decent walk every day.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 13/05/2021 07:24

Amazing steps and well done on water Octopus, those are great things. Honestly last week I was like someone forxefeeding myself I ate so much but got low energy, headaches and zero appetite for meals from it.. Feel so much better this week but I had a few weeks of that and you'll be ready when you're ready, maybe when your dad is gone? Anyway don't be too hard on yourself is the main thing. I'm at 9st again this morning and will get walk one of the week in this evening.

NutellaEllaElla · 13/05/2021 07:46

Down 3lbs this morning compared to 2 days ago! Fack me this maintenance thing is stressful sometimes.
