May I lose more this month

Apologies, cannot remember who's idea this was for a thread title, but I have stolen it.

9st3.75 this morning, meaning I am 0.25 down from the start of April. Not great, but I did get up to 9st7 in April, so I'll take that. Would be delighted if I could lose a pound this month. Lets hope the weather picks up, I'm sure that will help everyone.

Yay Nutella!! Well done!!

TheHoneyBadger · 29/05/2021 19:24

Well done Nutella - know it's not long back that you seemed to be worried you were off the wagon and wouldn't make it back on.

Today I've been to the gym and done an hour on the treadmill and then ended up going out for a long walk in the woods with a friend and the dogs. I'm at nearly 2500 calories already, 46 floors and nearly 15000 steps but feel less tired than I normally do. Hoping to have lots of days like this over half term.

Cuzco · 29/05/2021 19:49

Eeek. My pub lunch today was so bad. I just wanted to have so much and I did Blush. Bangers & mash and I ate all three sausages, a side of garlic bread (shared a bit with DC), ice cream - the first since Christmas Day, and I had three scoops, and a shandy. I really really lack a stop button. Gah. Going to have to be seriously good for the rest of the week, but I'm volunteering at an all day event on Monday and they provide the food - I know it's a bacon roll for breakfast. I think I'll take my own sandwich for lunch to keep on the safe side.

NutellaEllaElla · 30/05/2021 06:55

Thanks yeah, it's the socialising thing that worries me really. We've got guests over and last night had a 3 course meal (3rd helpings of dessert...) and we're going out for lunch again today. I also have this week off. I know that I can behave myself in between socialising and holidays. Gah!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 30/05/2021 07:55

Sounds wonderful tho Nutella.. I went for a walk with a friend last night, that's the level of socialising here still!! It was lovely tho! We all have our achilles heel, mine is chunks of time to myself.. Which is rare at the moment!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 30/05/2021 08:16

0.25lbs up here. Gorgeous sunny day. Have a good one all!

Octopus37 · 30/05/2021 09:33

No weigh in today here, kind of just decided not to for the time being. Went to my friend's house last night which was lovely. Had a buffet style meal, quiche, pizza, salad, garlic bread, salmon delicious, with one orange gin and some chocolate and caramel cheesecake for afters. Was lovely. Talked to her about the whole hormone thing, she is sort of coming out of the other side of it and she said that she thought I was doing well cause I have kept on moving, doing a lot of walking etc, which is maybe something. TBH just need to focus on generally feeling better before I can pay too much attention to my weight. Hoping that the weather perks up here. Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weekend.

Morning. I’ve had a whoosh to 13:4.6. That’s post period and very active day yesterday. Have to try and hang onto it now.

Hungover this morning. More alcohol than food yesterday and not a lot of water

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 30/05/2021 18:30

Hope you've all had a good day. Sounds like a good chat octopus and Honeybadger, hope you're not suffering too much now! I am logging for the day, felt strangely (and it really is strangely) unhungry when 6pm rolled around so decided not to force myself to eat.
Ono, 2 X cappuccino
Scrambled eggs (2) and 3 slices of cheese
Portion herby potatoes
Water not bad but will top up between now and 7 or so. Early night tonight for me, think the sun has given me a headache.

NutellaEllaElla · 30/05/2021 19:59

Finally, beautiful weather, what a joy. I've enjoyed my socialising and the vitamin D Smile

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 31/05/2021 07:05

Period on the way here, pretty bad cramps tho it will be the weekend before it arrives I'd say. That's the way of it for me these days. More sun here today Nutella, what a difference it makes! Another jump down for me, due to eating so little for 'dinner' I know and I'm starving now so will need to watch myself today. 8st11.25, expect to go back up tomorrow! Have a good day all.

Octopus37 · 31/05/2021 08:28

Took my youngest DS out for dinner last night, so after two bad days 9st6.5. TBH I will still be checking in on this thread but its pretty obvious that I'm not in the right frame of mind at the moment. The social things I have done felt more important this weekend. Also hoping I can start some HRT and get on a more even keel generally, although I know my expectations are probably a bit high.

Yes stay on the thread Octopus, it sounds like a difficult time.

I'm just reflecting that timing is such a tricky thing isn't it. I feel like lockdown was perfect timing for me to lose weight. No socialising, high anxiety so it really suited me to ignore the wider problems and focus on smaller things, making my environment controlled. I've tried losing weight before, I did know about myfitnesspal, but didn't really understand TDEE and calorie counting. I also just didn't have the head space or self-efficacy for focusing on it. I underestimated how much I was eating and how much of an impact it was having on my appearance compared to exercise. For me, I understand it can be different for everyone of course.

There are so many factors involved in this that i've not fully realised before.

TheHoneyBadger · 31/05/2021 10:05

That’s ok octopus. You’re at where you’re at and priorities are what they are itms.

I’m nearly 2lbs up on yesterday’s whoosh so it was a brief victory. Presumably some bouncing around to do before I secure it. I really haven’t achieved much this month on the weight front. Probably mostly caused by eating too many crisps.

TheHoneyBadger · 31/05/2021 13:16

I’m torn between forcing myself to ride to the gym or taking things very easy and doing my first decent fast in ages.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 31/05/2021 14:27

How energetic and go getting are you Honeybadger? If not very, I'd stick with the fast.
Octopus, absolutely stay here, sure didn't i crawl there for a good 4m. I see this as a thread of friends at this stage. Take the pressure off, put yourself first and go from there.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 31/05/2021 14:41

I'm going to get in and log early but will confirm.
Ono, cappuccino
2xsoda bread and butter and chicken breast
Leftover Coq au Vín and vegetables.
Final paper to do and hand in by tomorrow. Wohhoohh!

tellmetellmepleasetellme · 31/05/2021 16:29

Can I join in? This morning's weigh in was 67.7 kg. My goal is 60. Starting weight was 71 kg. I'm doing IF 18/6 and exercise outdoors when schedule allows. I hope I can get there by Christmas.

TheHoneyBadger · 31/05/2021 17:11

Sounds very doable tellme. Obviously depends on your height and build but you’re giving yourself plenty of time.

I’m still going on my unplanned fast. Close to 24 hours I think. Have drunk lots of water. Undecided what the plan is 🤷‍♀️ Feel ok at the minute but starting to find the idea of a g&t quite tempting. Will drink more water and try to delay for now.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 31/05/2021 17:37

Welcome tellmetellme! That sounds very doable. Sounds like you're doing well. When did you start? Good luck HB, you're a tougher woman than me!!

TheHoneyBadger · 31/05/2021 18:16

It’s been ages since I’ve done this heygirl. A long time since I managed it mostly because I get in from school and want a drink!

I’ve had 3 black coffees and at least 2 litres of water so far. Might switch to herbal tea now.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 31/05/2021 18:49

I feel weak and feel a headache coming on just thinking about it. I will wake up starving after 14h with out food! Grin Have a good evening all! 1500 words into 2500 and a walk planned shortly.

TheHoneyBadger · 31/05/2021 19:47

It’s interesting how different we all are. I’ve never woken up hungry in my life as far as I can recall.

TheHoneyBadger · 31/05/2021 19:49

Good luck with writing btw. I’m focusing on the house tomorrow but really need to get on with some marking at some point. Loving half term and a break though.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 31/05/2021 20:43

It's summer holidays here now for secondary school Honeybadger!! I'll be on mine in 4 weeks or so. Yippee!! Good luck with marking and fast.
