not sorry to hear you’re not feeling the best.
life stress is so draining.
We are visiting EPs today (In laws not mine) as FIL just got back from hospital after a 7 week stay. MIL is refusing to bring him meals on a tray and generally obstructing his care to the point where he may have to go into a home, which he doesn’t want, but the carers have said what she is doing is getting close to abuse Sad

Not2bObvious · 03/07/2021 12:22

Omg gen, that's so sad, your poor FIL. Much as he doesn't want to, a home might be the safest for him, what a nightmare though😢

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 03/07/2021 14:14

I agree gen. a home may be best for him on that situation, sad as it is
Yes when I meal plan I can’t get past 4 days so might as well chunk the week down. Pleased you are feeling better now

Not2bObvious · 03/07/2021 14:39

I swear I'm incapable of movement today, apart from going to the kitchen for crisps. I need a rocket to get me off the couch. Less than 800 steps, this is not good

Not2bObvious · 03/07/2021 18:19

Literally dragged myself out for a very brisk 70 minute walk - just over 8,300. It's so humid here, I'm dropping from the heat. Skinny jeans in this weather, not the smartest. Steak & chips for tea, no alcohol

Happierwithouthim · 04/07/2021 09:10

Not hope you're feeling better today. A few treats crept in yesterday for me - snickers crisp bar which is under 200 cals, a sliver of apple tart & a little tub of icecream from Aldi which is also under 200cals.

Will weigh soon, tiredness still not lifted, slept on couch from 8:30-10:30 last night

Not2bObvious · 04/07/2021 09:11

Much better today thanks happier, not officially weighed yet either but will soon.

OP posts:
Gensola · 04/07/2021 09:45

happier those sound like reasonable treats.
My steps and activity yesterday crap as always when at PILs - four hour car ride plus a lot of sitting around in an over heated house. Sigh.
We are off to Wales today - holiday cottage nearish to Crickhowell in the Usk valley. Due to rain all week aha but at least it’s a change of scene. I have just stopped DH from packing an almost empty tub of coleslaw (one of those ones with a film lid that you can’t re seal) so am in bad books lol

Not2bObvious · 04/07/2021 10:34

Average loss of .6 this week, it was .8 last week, and 1.1 the previous week. 2.5 down over three weeks is pretty decent for me. 8 days until I'm away again for 3 nights, gives me something to stay on track for. Then another 8 days before another 2 nights away. Challenges heaped on challenges! Not complaining at all, I know I'm very very lucky.
Have a super time away gen, minus the coleslaw😂

Happierwithouthim · 04/07/2021 10:40

I sts this week, today's weigh in is not being registered 193.5! Gotta get water into me today & flush that away!

Happierwithouthim · 04/07/2021 10:41

Gen that's funny!

Mrsmadevans · 04/07/2021 13:12

@Not2bObvious

I have to say mrs, I do not know how you do so much caring for your EP's, you're a saint. My EP is over for his bi monthly overnight and that's enough. I do two visits a week as well, shopping, bills and that but I find it hard. Had something upsetting earlier, very first world but I just want to cry the whole time. I wish I could just go to bed
Not bless you sweetheart l hope you feel so much better now Flowers I have help from my Dh and my Dd1. l couldn't manage without them l really couldn't, it isn't so bad re the physical although it is a lot of work , it's the mental toll it takes, the responsibility of keeping them well and their appts , their medicines, their meals, their hygiene, their finances , their happiness, their sadness , their pain , their moods. It is all so exhausting Flowers
Mrsmadevans · 04/07/2021 13:16

Gen l am so sorry to hear about your poor Fil bless him. l can see you are very worried , in truth there is not much you can do if your MIL will not help you keep him home. It is so sad Sad

Mrsmadevans · 04/07/2021 13:33

Gen You must go to see LLangorse & the lake where my Mum is staying. Brecon Cathedral is lovely so is the town and the promenade and the Gurkha trail, Regimental Museum in Brecon well worth seeing too. The canal is beautiful and lovely to walk, if you go to Pen y fan make sure you go to Pontsticill reservoir & The Mountain railway , Fforest Coalpit sounds awful but it's beautiful , they have the most wonderful church there called St Patricio Church, the walk to Gwryne fawr dam is lovely you can stop off in the forest for a walk as well ,my favourite Smile
Tredegar house is wonderful one of my Favourites, Hereford Cathedral is lovely and they have the Knife angel there this week.
Afternoon tea in the Dragon in Crick is lovely, as is Nicholls in Abergavenny which is lovely for coffee and a spot of lunch , there is also a store in Crick , it's got so many lovely things in.
The river Usk walk is lovely in Crick , the canal goes so far you can walk from Brecon to Pontypool if you want to Smile
Pop up to the Sugar loaf the views are absolutely gorgeous from there and a lovely walk, also my favourite is walking the Blorenge you can see for miles and miles. Also l nearly forgot about the National trust property The Kymin the views are so lovely and Monmouth is a gorgeous little town. Have wonderful time Smile

Mrsmadevans · 04/07/2021 13:36

Happier STS sounds pretty good to me Smile
l am struggling today Hmm
Still busy but bought a damn cheesy loaf from Lidl bakery yesterday and l just ate a bout a third of it smothered in butter Hmm
The perils of bread!

Happierwithouthim · 04/07/2021 15:18

Just screenshot all those things to do in Wales too!

Your talk of bread reminded me to have lunch

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/07/2021 06:57

Off plan all weekend but back to it today. No weigh in today though as poorly tum

Not2bObvious · 05/07/2021 07:49

I won't be registering the Monday number here, pizza for lunch yesterday, very slow digestion issues too. Shouldn't have even stepped on the scales, rookie mistake. Despite pizza I was only a little over cals and I'd done 50 mins weights/40 mins treadmill, even more reason to tell the SOD to sod off!
Another week, that weekend was too short😞

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 05/07/2021 08:12

I weighed and it was same as yesterday terrible number hopefully that'll settle down in a day or two

Gensola · 05/07/2021 10:36

Thanks so much mrs we are heading to sugar loaf this morning to make the most of the sun, it looks rainy tomorrow and Weds. we will definitely check out your other tips too!
My walking trousers are snug Blush despite surgery so I assume I wouldn’t even have been able to get them on a few weeks ago Grin bit more walking and a lot less wine, I think 😂😂

Happierwithouthim · 05/07/2021 11:20

Hadn't seen these in Aldi or else new packaging

Happier that yog looks very nice and proper filling l bet , will have a look for them and the nut one Not , steer clear of the SOD both , it's not a friend to the likes of us indeedy!
Been ok today but am going to have a pizza now becaus el can't be bothered ,so bgr it ! Hmm

Gensola · 05/07/2021 18:25

We had a fab day - sugar loaf walk then coffee and icecream in Crickhowell. Most of the pubs around our Airbnb are closed on Monday so staying in tonight but trying a Welsh/Italian fusion restaurant tomorrow eve, after a mooch about the crick shops and walk around Llangorse lake.
I’m making pasta with broccoli, chicken, garlic and crème fraîche tonight

Mrsmadevans · 05/07/2021 19:13

Sounds like you had a fab day despite the weather Gen Smile
love the sound of your dinner tonight too.
Am afraid l have succumbed to pizza and mozzerella sticks Hmm
