Hi.

Just wondering if anyone is doing Exante (or anything similar) currently. I have a few VLCD sachets in my kitchen cupboard and have ordered some bars. I’ll be starting Monday. Anyone else?

My starting weight is 18stone so I have to lose literally half my weight Blush.

@UpsyDaisysarmpit yeah, I had chicken and leek soup and it was OK, just like a cuppa soup. Got the butternut squash one in the box to try. Not sure I fancy any of the other savoury options you've described Grin

Have just had a peanut butter bar for my last meal replacement of the day. I thought it would be horrible (from comments on the FB group) but I actually really liked it! Grin

I'm back to 12st 0lb 2 oz today, but I'm not surprised after yesterday.

I had:
Bar
Prawns and cocktail sauce
Celery and cocktail sauce
Egg yolk
Salad
Prawns & mushrooms in ginger, garlic, chilli, spring onion, soy sauce, sweet chilli sauce on salad
2squares 70% no added sugar dark chocolate
Chilli cheese, pork crunch

So yeah. Little carbs but lots of calories. And my blood glucose was back up to 6.0 this morning. Lesson learnt for me, again.

3Britnee Yeah, I let myself go with steak and chips last night. And that was on top of the sausage rolls. Incredibly I'm still the same weight but today the pressure is on. Sad

UpsyDaisysarmpit Think I might have bought the peanut butter bar. Might have that later although I want to get started on a shake. Haven't had one yet! I had the golden syrup porridge oats for breakfast and it was really nice!

Noneofthathere The butternut squash soup was the one thing I bought 2 of. Hope it doesn't let me down!!

Just wondered if anyone knows...
DP and I have steak quite often usually. He cooks it. We were thinking this would be out with me being on this new diet, but is there any way I can make it work? I mean, a lean steak and some cauliflower or mushrooms? Could it happen? Grin 🥩?!

I started today, I can only stomach the shakes and bars, can't bear the meals or soups.
I've bought 21 days worth of one shake a day and 2 bars and have eliminated milk in my coffee.
I know this is going to be a big struggle, I've done it before but I HAVE to lose the weight before my 60th birthday next year.
Years and years of my life have been wasted being fat.
I need to guys to sound off or I won't do it.

How does everyone else cope when the rest of the family are eating as normal?

I'm only on day 4, so far I just serve up the food and disappear, unless my husband has cooked, then I dont even serve up the food. Hoping in a few days I'll be able to sit with them without wanting to steal food from them ConfusedGrin

Tried the salter caramel bar today, not too impressed. So far apart from the peanut butter bar I prefer shakes.

I think trying to do it flexi isn't working, which is what I thought might be the case! I'll start afresh with it Monday and eat healthily the rest of the weekend

Well yesterday I only had one shake for breakfast then grilled chicken and salad for dinner late last night. Today so far only 1 shake. I'm just not feeling hungry at all! Is anyone else feeling like this? I'm drinking plenty of water which is just filling me up. I'm going to try and aim for 3 shakes today even if I have to push myself. 🤞For a nice weight loss on Monday!

How does everyone else cope when the rest of the family are eating as normal?

I'm having two shakes and a meal each day. Today, the family are having a roast so I'll have the chicken and low carb veg with them.

For other meals I'm largely keeping busy. It's easy for school day breakfasts as I'm often busy getting stuff ready for the kids and then I have a shake once the kids have gone to school.

Today is my first weekend so I thought it would be a challenge but I've only managed one shake so far today as we've been busy.

I have done sneaky daily weigh ins but trying not to read too much into them, but I know things are going well so far so I'm keen not to sabotage over the weekend....

Stood on the scales this morning and have lost 7lbs in the last 5 days (got loads to lose though).

12st 5lb 8oz today with a fasting blood glucose reading of 8.0.

Hopefully it won't take too long to get back to where I was.

@MajorNeville that's great, which plan have you been following? I'm on 800 cals at the moment, thinking I'll do that for as long as I can cope and then swap to 1200 cals.

I know weighing every day isn't always good, but so far I've lost 10lbs in 4 days. Probably a lot of water but it's keeping me motivated. I've got a lot to lose but trying not to think about that.

Try not to let it get into your head too much - these things are not an exact science and it is quite easy for your weight to fluctuate. I personally try to just weigh weekly, in very similar circumstances, because when something like this happens it can totally demotivate you.

Oh and I've done slimming world - got the t-shirt t or 6 times there. But slimming world has its pitfalls as you end up losing 2-3 st and then regaining it and then some (or is that just me Blush?!).
