Hi.

Just wondering if anyone is doing Exante (or anything similar) currently. I have a few VLCD sachets in my kitchen cupboard and have ordered some bars. I’ll be starting Monday. Anyone else?

My starting weight is 18stone so I have to lose literally half my weight Blush.

I'm 7 weeks in, 21 pounds down and feeling so tired all the time.

Helene2019 · 04/07/2021 16:36

@WhoWants2Know what plan are you on. Are you just 3-4 packs and day?

Also have you been doing the "food week" every 4th week? Exante recommends to increase daily calorie intake for every day of every 4th week on exante if you are replacing 3-4 meals a day with packs. Every 4th week you do your 3-4 packs a day and supplement every day with an additional 200-600 cals of low carb food: meat/fish, nuts, veg, pulses, fruits etc.

WhoWants2Know · 04/07/2021 18:00

@Helene2019 Really? I must have missed that. I've been on 800 calories for 7 weeks, so maybe I need a boost

WhoWants2Know · 04/07/2021 18:08

Mind you, I think my stomach has shrunk. I was craving veg and made a nice big vegetable stir fry--and then I could only eat about a third of it before I was stuffed.

sandwiches77 · 04/07/2021 18:32

Still waiting for my packs to arrive...

Whats everyone's typical day look like?

Helene2019 · 04/07/2021 18:40

@WhoWants2Know - good going for sticking to it for 7 weeks straight! yep it's in the ebook exante guide. You can get a copy here there is a section on how to do the plan and low carb food list too. www.exantediet.com/how-it-works/ebook-guide-exante-diet.list

I recommend using a calorie tracking app like my fitness Pal and weigh/log the additional food in the food week to make sure you aren't going over the max 1200 Cals.

I definitely don't eat as much and I don't feel hungry either.

Picklesbaby · 04/07/2021 21:16

Thanks everyone, I feel more comfortable bloating wise . I did have a glass of wine to celebrate🙄 but stuck to plan otherwise . I do not like the muesli but the pancakes were good today !
Running low on bars but lots of shakes .. I may try 2 shakes & 600cal meal a day this week instead .

@WhoWants2Know nearly 2 stone wow 7 weeks on plan is tough. good on you ! 👏🏻 I’ve started taking a multi vit . Don’t think I can get any more exhausted

3Britnee · 04/07/2021 23:43

Everyone should take biotin as well as a multivitamin. Biotin is what you need to stop hair loss. It's normally got from eggs and is in the 'skin, hair, nails' supplement.

2020in2020 · 05/07/2021 14:58

How is everyone doing? Weighed in this morning and another 3lbs gone, meaning 5.5lbs off altogether! I was especially pleased as had a weekend in London. I stuck to Exante for breakfast and lunches but did have a pizza on Saturday night. However I did 50k steps over the weekend so sure that helped!

Orangesandlemons77 · 05/07/2021 16:47

I noticed biotin is also in the Woman's health vitamins I use (Vitabiotics).

Lost a couple of pounds so far in a few days which is good. Just ordered lots of bars on a BOGOF offer thinking I may just stick to them as not as keen on the shakes and meals really.

I might sell some of them on Ebay. I feel strangely guilty about just eating bars though! Which is kind of daft seeing as they all have similar nutrition. I guess it just feels a bit naughty eating chocolate bars all day long

frillseeking · 05/07/2021 18:11

Just got my shakes but I've got big packets, not the little sachets. Has anyone else used these? Do you just scoop out what you need?

WhoWants2Know · 05/07/2021 20:16

It's one scoop per shake. (The scoop is inside)

Helene2019 · 05/07/2021 20:39

@frillseeking never seen big packets in the UK before. Instructions must be on the pack though.

The writing is literally so small I can't read it!

WhoWants2Know · 06/07/2021 07:07

It really is tiny on the big packs. I found that I made a mess with them and got powder everywhere, so now I stick to the small packets

Helene2019 · 06/07/2021 09:24

@frillseeking I think there are instructions on each product page on the website. I have one box of the "juiced" shakes range (not yet opened) and it says to use 2 scoops with 500ml water - this is very different to the amount of water used in the normal shakes range so I would double check.

Anyone tried the juiced things - I bought on a whim when it was really hot here, and now it's just raining and cold lol.

I sounded like an idiot but it's so small isn't it! I really prefer the small sachets. Although tried the bake well ones and they're gross! Much prefer the plain ones like banana and strawberry, the other ones taste too sweet
WhoWants2Know · 06/07/2021 15:58

I've definitely seen other people ask exactly the same question on the Facebook page--that's the only reason I knew the answer! 😁

Orangesandlemons77 · 06/07/2021 20:30

Oh dear, I'm starting to crave some of the sweet stuff e.g. bars and having an extra in the evenings. I need to take care with that. Maybe I need a blander diet. Does anyone else have this as well? I do have a real sweet tooth.

Could you save one, or half of one, for the evenings? I know some people chop theirs into pieces and use it as a snack in front of the TV.
Helene2019 · 06/07/2021 21:05

I had a sweet tooth (chocolate and cake!) at the begining, but never felt like I could eat more than one of the exante bars/cookies in a day if that. But I like variety in food so would mix up exante food types and flavours so no two days were the same.

I guess it depends if you can figure out why you are having the extra bar? If it is binging on the bars perhaps avoid them and stick to all the other types of shakes, soups and meals instead. If it is because you are hungry then maybe go on a lighter exante plan where you do 3-4 packs a day plus 400-600cal low carb meal. If it is habit/boredom then try adopting a different positive habit. I used this method to tackle sweet cravings with distraction: I first try a caffeine free burst, herbal tea or water enhanced/sugar free squash drink as they taste nice and may distract from the craving. If that fails I have 20g 70% dark chocolate (it's around 100 cals) and finds it cuts the craving straight away.

Picklesbaby · 06/07/2021 21:07

@Orangesandlemons77 yes ! It’s all so sweet isn’t it . I have a 10cal jelly or a milky tea on those evenings . I couldn’t even finish my chicken tikka salad this evening though. feel so full I can’t believe how little food I’m eating!

Picklesbaby · 06/07/2021 21:12

I agree about the sweet cravings, not sure about the extra bars though , do you not find they fill you up sooo much (& they give me gurgling tummy lol)

LoveGalgos · 06/07/2021 23:01

@Orangesandlemons77...I know what you mean about the bar's the Salted Caramel & mint Cookie are Fab & I don't even have a sweet tooth ..🤣
Have you tried the Daal pot's ..?.add abit of Chilli ..really filling x

Babysharkdoodoodood · 06/07/2021 23:17

Ugh. Just recovering from major bloating and cramping. Only had bars over the weekend and really screwed up my guts. Going back to having the porridge in the morning and a soup, with only one bar a day.

Although I have lost another half kilo this week, so keeping up the slow& steady progress.

My trainer did a Pilates hit class today so I may treat myself to sone nuts tonight. I'm exhausted. My Apple Watch says I've burnt 936 calories today!
