Hi.

Just wondering if anyone is doing Exante (or anything similar) currently. I have a few VLCD sachets in my kitchen cupboard and have ordered some bars. I’ll be starting Monday. Anyone else?

My starting weight is 18stone so I have to lose literally half my weight Blush.

Well done @3Britnee! And everyone for sticking to it so far.

I had to get weighed at a clinic today before I had a jab for hayfever and weighed less on their scales than mine! It is making me very determined seeing 10st something on the scales rather than 11st.

Had a cookies and cream bar for breakfast, one of my favourites. Shake for lunch and lemon pancakes for dinner!

I wonder about some almonds and avocado / small bit dark choc for the good fats? I also sometimes use these shakes called Purition and they have blended seeds in they seem to be higher in the good fats.

I'm quite enjoying eating random things - eaten mine already again today (went a swim think it made me hungry) but that is OK as feel full now and don't fancy dinner anyway.

I was planning on adding in avocado but it's a no no for urea. Nuts and olive oil will be the way to go I think. This is what is annoying, the diet for urea is at complete odds with the diet for low hdl. They say don't have too much fish or shellfish, for the kidneys, but its what's needed for hdl 🙄

@Orangesandlemons77 if you are feeling hungry try having herbal teas, exante cafine-free or caffeinated Burst drinks, caffeinated tea/coffee, clear broth (e.g. 1 teaspoon of marmite / Vegemite / Bovril to a mug of boiling water) or miso soup. Even maybe have a mug before or in between packs to space them out.

Have been dithering about buying a load of products, but you have all inspired me to give it a whirl. I will not be able to sustain 3 products a day, so thinking 2 a day plus a low calorie eveing meal. What do you all have?

Helene2019 · 01/07/2021 19:14

@sandwiches77 I've been on exante a number of times (in between IVF cycles to drop the IVF pile on of lbs!). I found 3 or 4 packs a day extremely difficult and regularly fell off the wagon so to speak which then sabotaged any weight loss. This time round I've gone slow and steady 2 packs a day plus low carb meals taking me to 1200 cals a day (incl alcohol and the odd sweet treat). I lost 1-2lbs a week like that (so slower than everyone else), but I have stuck to it and feel satisfied/enjoy the one meal a day. I have rediscovered salads and lots of veg that I enjoy. I've felt so confident in being able to control myself Confused that last week I switched to 1 pack and two low carb meals (total 1200 cals), results of this switch remain yet to be seen 😂

I think you should go with whatever you feel comfortable with. I think a lot depends on personality and how likely you are to stick with only the packs each day. 3-4 packs a day alone is really hard and I commend anyone that can stick to it!

I have just seen from a previous poster that I am able to get a discount with my Blue Light card but it isn't working

Picklesbaby · 01/07/2021 21:05

@sandwiches77 I’m still breastfeeding so am doing 2 products and an evening meal . It’s going ok so far I’m certainly hungry for my dinner when I get home from work.

Excited to weigh in this weekend hoping I’ve lost at least something in the first week. Working a late shift tomorrow so that will be the test with the chippy and cake shop across the road 😬

sandwiches77 · 01/07/2021 21:16

Just put my order in Grin should be with me in a couple of days

You can't use any other discounts with blc. And you have to get a different vault code every time.

I got my monthly box of goodies. Strawberry jam bars, banana bread (tastes nothing like banana), gooey chocolate, porridge pots, daal and my absolute favourite; chocolate crispies for breakfast.

I skip breakfast on early shift and take a bar for lunch and maybe a couple of seafood sticks. Then I cook a proper dinner, but gave a smaller portion without the carbs. Something like tandoori paneer and peppers or a small bowl of real chilli.

Another 0.7 kg and an inch off this week. DH made a third joke in my belt for me and said my bum is getting smaller.

-2 this week, which makes 1 and a half stone! Halfway there now, just need to keep at it.

3Britnee the oily fish could be for omega 3? Could maybe try an omega 3 capsule instead of the fish, in fact I have one with vitamin D in it which seems good. (you mentioned it as well) I can pass on the details if you like, just got it on Amazon.

I picked up a bag of almonds yesterday, think they are quite good for hunger pangs. Trying not to have loads though as quite high cal.

Thanks Flowers I got some of the water flavour in my pack so I will use that as well.

Yes I just went and got walnuts, Brazil nuts, almonds, and a seed mix. They will have to be used sparingly though, three brazil nuts at 10g is 66 calories!

Well done everyone, keep going 💪

Orangesandlemons77 · 02/07/2021 10:50

I was reading somewhere (it could have been the MM blood sugar diet book) nuts have a lot of fibre and that they actually have less calories than it often states...not sure about that though!

I'm moving on to the meal and 2/3 packets as finding the just packets too hard and craving food! I think for me it will be easier. Inspired by others doing the same. Going to try a salad I think.

I'm quite active as well as go swimming most days so think this might be better for me.

Have a good weekend Flowers

Well ladies I don’t believe I’ve lost 10lb in a week 😂 I know it’s a morning weigh in and il weigh a tad more in the day/evening but I’m gobsmacked. Just shows how bloated I was.
I was going to have a treat night Tonight but I’m more determined than ever to get into that next stone bracket !

Hello all. Jumping in to join this thread.

I started Exante at the beginning of June and I hope this time will be the last time! I lost 4st years ago on Cambridge diet but once I was almost at goal I went back to my old (very bad) eating habits.

This time I am aiming to lower my blood sugar, lose weight and get fitter. So I've started walking a lot instead of sitting on my lazy arse too much.

At the moment I've managed to stick rigidly to the plan since beginning of June, except for today when I ate 3 doritos! Not going to beat myself up about that though because it's nothing compared to the amount of junk I was putting away before.

I'm 2 stones down and haven't felt this good for years. My blood sugar is in normal range now every time I test. So I'm pretty damn pleased at the moment. I still have quite some way to go though. Good luck to everyone on Exante.

Helene2019 · 03/07/2021 15:02

@Picklesbaby bloody hell 👀 What a first week loss. Definitely motivation to keep going.

@LoveGalgos yeah it doesn't matter what packs you have everything is nutritionally balanced so you would total same calories, fibre, protein etc. If you already know that you might prefer to chew then stick with those products and get less shakes. The bars are handy for when out e.g. travelling or when I know I won't have time to prep something. I find I drink more water, teas (herbal and black) and coffee when on this anyway. It fills out the time between packs and the extra water is good anyway. I really like their caffeine free burst range - the mocktails ones are good blended with ice! I know others that like the water enhancers too.

Helene2019 · 04/07/2021 11:58

Weekly weigh in: been on 1 pack and two meals this week. Didn't lose last week but lost 2lbs this week (think time of the month bloating affected it last week). So am sticking to this ratio of packs to meals and still on max 1200 cals/day I think I can keep losing 1lb a week this way. BMI is 26.2 and am soooooo close to 26 (started at BMI of 28.5 8 weeks ago).

Fitting into an old pair of work trousers comfortably that I couldn't do up 2 weeks ago is a great bonus!

3Britnee · 04/07/2021 12:12

Well done.

My scales broke yesterday 😩 I bought new ones this morning but they only have kg or lbs settings and I can't determine exactly what I am, in stones and pounds 😡 155.9. I think its 11st 0lb something but I'm not sure.

Orangesandlemons77 · 04/07/2021 12:32

Inspiring the read the stories. I have discovered a little trick to spread out one of the bars, as they are so sweet, I have chopped one into tiny squares and been having tiny bits with a cup of coffee. The coffee and sweetness go quite well together and it stops me eating the whole lot at once.

I'm finding it a bit easier now, doing the 800 cals so thinking might swap about depending on how I am feeling (and what I have got in the fridge) sometimes doing 3 packets plus bar, other times 2 plus a 400 cal meal.
I could also do 2 packets plus bar with added semi skimmed milk to the shake to bring it up to 800 cals (saw this idea on the website).

Good luck this week everyone Flowers
