Any doing Exante?

Hi.

Just wondering if anyone is doing Exante (or anything similar) currently. I have a few VLCD sachets in my kitchen cupboard and have ordered some bars. I’ll be starting Monday. Anyone else?

My starting weight is 18stone so I have to lose literally half my weight Blush.

I did a random blood sugar check this morning, after having not tested for 2 weeks, 4.8! So I'm happy with that. 11st 6lb 8oz, so 3lb down from last Saturday.

Lockheart · 26/06/2021 20:43

Well done @3Britnee!

I tried the chocolate shake tonight - game-changer, love it!

I admit I'm preferring the bars to the shakes generally. So far I haven't found one I didn't like and I think psychologically for me I find it easier to eat something solid rather than rely on liquids a lot.

3Britnee · 26/06/2021 20:59

@Lockheart Thank you. I prefer the bars too, but if you do 3 a day, dont go far from a toilet 😂

Noted! So far the max I've had a day is 2, I'd best stick to that!

3Britnee · 27/06/2021 06:36

It's the paste type bars that do it, the ones like chocolate peanut butter, I find the ones like caramel crunch or yoghurt and strawberry don't do it.

Is anyone else still exercising? I use samsung health and they have a monthly step challenge where you need to complete at least 200,000 steps to get the badge. Well I haven't done the target steps each day and have to do 20,100 steps for the next three days to complete it 😂 I did just under 20k yesterday, just walking up and down my living room in front of the telly 😂 I put programmes like supersize v superskinny and secret eaters on to make me get off the sofa, but I'm running out of ones to watch 🙈

After these next few days I'm going to make a real effort to do 10,000 every day again. In April I was up to 15k minimum a day, now some days I barely hit 1000 😫

Can I join you? I'm 50 in a couple of months and weigh nearly 15 stone. DM (and now deceased DGM) both have/had weight issues. I know I'm never going to be a size 8 but I'm creeping towards a size 18... I feel bloated a lot of the time.

Recently taken up yoga and gone back to Body Pump. I have also been juicing for breakfast and trying to eat low carb but finding it hard if I'm not organised or away from home

Would you recommend Exante? And if so when compared with other VLCD?

Feeling a bit scared, DH has already given me a raised eyebrow and the comment of "not another diet"

MissingTheMoonlight · 27/06/2021 09:26

Good luck to all. weighed myself this morning (wearing slippers and PJs). I have lost 17lbs over 12 months so far. Still BMI of 34 but feeling much better in myself. We can do this!

Orangesandlemons77 · 27/06/2021 11:50

On exercise I noticed the website said something about sticking to gentle exercise on the 800 plan but ok to do more on the 1200 one?

I'm doing stuff like walking and aqua aerobics this week. I'm trying to do 800 a day but will see how it goes. (possibly eat a but more on more exercise days)

Lockheart · 27/06/2021 12:00

I'm still going for gentle jogs two or three times a week, but I'm not a serious runner at the best of times!

Had the peanut butter bar this morning - did not enjoy it one bit! Worst one yet lol.

I'll weigh myself tonight and see how I'm doing. It's only been 4 days so far so not expecting anything drastic but I like to keep track.

I’ve just found this thread. I’ve been substituting 2 meals a day for bars but have had to stop as I’ve had dreadful stomach pain/cramps, vile wind and runs along with nausea. I’ve managed 3 weeks but these problems are getting worse the longer I go on. Has anyone else had digestive upset on exante?

😂 the consensus on most exante groups is never trust a fart.

@Lockheart, Some of the bars, the paste type, like peanut butter, are better if you microwave them.

Orangesandlemons77 · 27/06/2021 13:45

Maybe trying shakes instead of bars could help Literarydevice? I also find the bars can do that at times.

I'm using some other shakes as well such as slimfast but not sure if you are meant to. To see which ones cause problems.

Literarydevice · 27/06/2021 14:01

Thanks. The only things in the range I’ve liked are some of the bars. The shakes, soups and meals I found grim. I think exante is maybe not for me.

WhoWants2Know · 27/06/2021 14:03

I'm ok with the bars that have a more cereal bar consistency, but the chocolate peanut butter was not to my taste. By now I have worked out which products I like best, so it's easier to take advantage of the deals on the website. (I think the current deal is 75 shakes for £60, which isn't bad.

I've been using the Grenade bars instead, as they're so much nicer. Still a little windy but no upset tummy.

I do an online class a couple of times a week. Just gentle toning and core. Got an Apple Watch now so going to try the 3 month fitness+ trial.

2 new holes on my uniform belt punched and 2 new pairs of trousers. Hopefully I can keep up the gentle loss of 1stone/2 months. So next year I'll be 6 stone lighter.

What am I going to do about the (ahem) excess skin as it's probably stretched beyond redemption now? I'm already saving like mad to have my remaining boob taken off for symmetry. Can't afford a tummy tuck as well.

Lockheart · 27/06/2021 19:51

Agreed - I like the lemon and chocolate orange bars the best. Strawberry and salted caramel were OK, but not great. Peanut butter still rank.

I tried a strawberry shake for dinner this evening and that's now my new favourite!

3Britnee · 27/06/2021 20:58

Salted caramel and chocolate crunch were my favourites. The stollen (Christmas) and hot cross bun (Easter) ones are 👌 (I think there are the same but in different packaging)and I really want to try the two new dark chocolate ones. I'm not fussed about the shakes at all, I'd rather do bars, pizzas, fajitas and cheese and bacon eggs. And gooey puddings.

Orangesandlemons77 · 28/06/2021 09:34

Is anyone else doing a 2 exante / 400 cal meal? Just wondering how it was going as thinking of staying with this. Maybe a bit bigger meal on hungry days.

3Britnee · 28/06/2021 13:29

😖 I just bought a pie. It's a little individual one, like you get from the chip shop. Its chicken curry flavour 😭 it was reduced to 90p so I checked the calories and bought it but now I'm thinking better of it. I nearly bought pork pies too, they had loads reduced and I love the pastry on those but I'd have eaten them all (packs of six) to get them gone and it would have started a binge. I should put it in the freezer but I want it 😩

2020in2020 · 28/06/2021 14:57

Hello all. I weighed in and have lost 2.5lbs! Not loads but I am pleased!

WhoWants2Know · 28/06/2021 16:31

The freezer is a great idea for holding off cravings.

After I put my most recent order in, I had a offer for a free box of coconut shakes- but by the time I paid, the shakes had been replaced with a box of peanut butter bars 😮

Picklesbaby · 28/06/2021 18:09

Hi, please can I join ?
I have 2.5 stone (and probably more) to lose. I got down to to 10stone with slimming world after having DD in 2016 !but have really piled it on struggled to lose anything since emcs 12 months ago. Weight last night was 14stone 10lb.
Trying exante as a last avenue, I’m so disappointed I’ve let myself get so big.
I’ve had a banana shake and a bar so far today , grilled chicken and salad for dinner tonight.

Picklesbaby · 28/06/2021 18:10

Should add ,I’m still breastfeeding so am doing the 1200 diet.

3Britnee · 28/06/2021 19:28

Welcome new people 👋 and well done everyone 👏

I've put the pie in the freezer 😩 the thought of only being 2lb away from overweight instead of obese made me do it 😂
