Any doing Exante?

Hi.

Just wondering if anyone is doing Exante (or anything similar) currently. I have a few VLCD sachets in my kitchen cupboard and have ordered some bars. I’ll be starting Monday. Anyone else?

My starting weight is 18stone so I have to lose literally half my weight Blush.

Well I weighed myself this morning and I’ve lost a pound. Think it might actually be closer to 4 pounds as I only weighed myself on Tuesday and started on Sunday. Pretty sure I was heavier as my clothes were really tight plus I’d had a really good week with loads of wine and meals out.
DH has lost nearly 6lbs, he’s just doing low carb, so egg and bacon for breakfast and a huge tuna/chicken salad for lunch. He always loses quicker than me which generally makes me give up, determined not to this time.

3Britnee · 27/05/2021 13:20

@Recycledblonde Don't get disheartened, men lose quicker and easier than women, especially if they do low carb.

I'm bloody starving, I've done 15k steps and had a salad when I got in but I don't feel like I've even eaten anything. I don't want to have a product as well as the salad though, so I'm clock watching til 4 when I can have my next one 😂

3Britnee · 27/05/2021 21:05

I missed my first product and had a salad (225 calories) instead, then the maple syrup pancake, then red bean chilli with 100g mushrooms, 100g cauliflower, 165g broccoli. The veg came in at about 100 calories.

Stats this morning was 12st 3lb 6oz, BG was 7.9.

I've done just under 16k steps today and burnt 618 calories through exercise. According to my app.

WhoWants2Know · 28/05/2021 07:28

3Britnee you are doing so well!

I did my second week weigh-in this morning and lost 4 pounds, so my total is 9. I'm pretty happy with that.

3Britnee · 28/05/2021 07:55

Thanks, I'm concerned that my blood sugar isn't coming down out of the 7's though. I'm considering another 3 day water (and tea) fast. I finished eating at 7.45 last night so that would take me to 7.45 on sunday. Then I could either eat then and finish by 8, and then get back into my 12 4, 8 (16:8) routine or carry on until 12 on monday. I suppose I'll see how hungry I am at 12 today. Last time I did a 3 day reset though it was pretty easy.

Helene2019 · 28/05/2021 15:45

@Recycledblonde and @3Britnee yay for the lbs lost this week. 3Britnee would you see a big change in blood glucose levels in just a couple of days? Just wondering if it is something that happens over a longer period of time.

Today marks the day where I've lost 1 whole BMI point. Down to 27.5 🎉 next mini goal is to break 27. I feel firmly on the wagon so to speak.

3Britnee · 28/05/2021 16:11

Well done @Helene2019 👏👏👏

Yes I'd see a drop pretty quickly if I did a 3 day fast. I decided not to, I decided to trust the plan, so I had my first product but then I decided to make soup. I had 2 mouth ulcers last week and now I've got another one and it's got a bit worse today. My gums are sore too, probably because they got a bit irritated, so I've been poking them with interdental brushes before a dentist appointment next week. I've had issues with receding gums etc due to a tongue piercing, but now I've found out it can be to do with blood sugar as well.

Anyway, I ended up making soup with onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, thyme, basil, oregano, cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms and chicken. Lots of healing ingredients. All very low carb and calorie though. Its cooking now and smells 👌

WhoWants2Know · 28/05/2021 16:14

Celery is good for mouth inflammation too.

3Britnee · 28/05/2021 17:11

Is it? That's good to know. I normally stick that in if I plan to make it but I made this with what I've got in and couldn't be bothered to go out. It's really bloody sore. I think I've got a canker rather than an ulcer.

I've got some thieves oil so I'll put some of that on after I've eaten.

Recycledblonde · 28/05/2021 21:45

It really seems to decrease your appetite, I’ve had a shake, the chocolate orange bar and have struggled to get through half of my small salmon salad. The acid test will be how I feel when I finish my shift at 2am!😀

3Britnee · 29/05/2021 06:39

Now I've got a dilemma. After a product and then soup, my blood glucose was down to 6.6 this morning but my weight was up to 12st 4lb 6oz.

WhoWants2Know · 29/05/2021 07:24

Don't worry too much about the scale going up one. Generally they recommend only weighing once each week so minor fluctuations don't throw you off.

3Britnee · 29/05/2021 07:56

I don't know whether to stick to low carb for a bit to get my bg down. I find the products high in carbs, but if I have them when my bg is lower they seem ok. I think I've answered my own question, I might do a couple of days of ultra low carb. When I did that a few weeks ago I got a reading of 4.8. Getting my bg stable is more important than the scale.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 30/05/2021 01:00

I'm going to sell the shakes (that I have many of) on eBay. They make my blood sugar rocket. The bars and meals not so much.

I can't use the shakes at work anyway. The stupid ball thing doesn't break up the lumps enough and they're only drinkable blended with ice as they're all so sweet.
Love the porridge pots and bought stacks of reduced Thai curry soup.

I'm now doing a porridge in the morning, a bar or daal at lunch then a meal 3-400 calls at night. 4.7 kg off for first month, and a new hole punched in my uniform belt. Grin

WhoWants2Know · 30/05/2021 08:58

@Babysharkdoodoodood There's an Exante selling trading group on Facebook where you can offload your extras.

3Britnee · 30/05/2021 10:01

Well done baby shark.

I did meat and salad yesterday but like a fckn idiot I bought no sugar 70% dark choc thinking I'd have 1 piece a day, and ate a couple of bits yesterday. My bg this morning was 7.1.

I've now decided to eat by 12 for a couple of days, with no carbs, to try to get it down, that worked for me before. A window of 23:1. I've eaten all the chocolate that was left this morning.

I've had some pork and soy sauce, sweet chilli, ginger and garlic dressing, with sesame seeds and spring onion garnish. And I'll have some chicken just before 12 and then that will be it until 11 tomorrow.

riotlady · 30/05/2021 13:40

DH and DD are currently tucking into a McDonald’s while i virtuously eat my bar abs Diet Coke! I’m proud of how well I’ve stuck to it this week, had a couple little cheats here and there but mostly stuck to it really well

PivotPivotPivottt · 30/05/2021 21:54

I've just ordered Exante off the back of a thread I've read on AIBU. I've been wanting to try it for a while but been making excuses so decided to order it tonight. It should be here tomorrow. I've got 2 or 3 stone to lose I haven't weighed myself for over a year. I don't have any will power so I'm really worried about it but hopefully it works out for me.

3Britnee · 31/05/2021 06:57

Yesterday was pretty good. I had a small wobble where I wanted something at about 7.30/8, but that's all it was, I just wanted something, I wasn't actually hungry. That's a problem with exante I think, it let's you have 'cake' or 'biscuits' which I don't think is that great, it doesn't break the want for those things. I did have plenty on mayo on my meat though yesterday, which helps with hunger.

My weight was down to 12st 3lb 0oz this morning but my blood glucose was still at 7.1. I barely did 1000 steps and ate 3/4 of a bar of (sugar free, 70%) chocolate though, so I don't know what I really expected 😂

I'm planning to have meat & eggs between 11-12 today and that will be all until tomorrow, other than my teas and water.

UpsyDaisysarmpit · 31/05/2021 14:05

@3Britnee well done!

@PivotPivotPivottt is that the thread I was also watching? Good luck!

I'm on weigh day today and 'only' lost 2lbs this week, after 5 weeks of losing 4lbs. I am hoping to lose the next 2lbs and more over the next week so I can say I lost 2st in 7 weeks 🙂

Babysharkdoodoodood · 31/05/2021 14:40

Another kilo off today. Will do my measurements tomorrow as it was last month when I did them last. Slowly but surely on the way down.

Only 1 soup today as we're off to The Botanist tonight. Lamb kebab and swapping out chips for salad.

3Britnee · 01/06/2021 13:58

I bet that was delicious babyshark.

I was up to 12st 4lb 4oz this morning but my blood glucose was 6.6.

Helene2019 · 01/06/2021 15:43

With the bank hol I forgot to do my weekly weigh in post. I think I'm now at the end of 4 weeks and so far down 7lbs with BMI loss of 1.3 points (now 27.2) so all slowly moving in the right direction. Although the nice weather is tempting me into BBQ mode Confused.

Helene2019 · 01/06/2021 15:45

Forgot to add @UpsyDaisysarmpit that's amazing loss over 7 weeks.

UpsyDaisysarmpit · 01/06/2021 19:54

@Helene2019

Forgot to add *@UpsyDaisysarmpit* that's amazing loss over 7 weeks.
Thanks! I've done 4 products today, to try and keep on track. Anyone else done this? I've had the lentil daal for dinner which was nice enough. Does anyone else feel acutely aware of how much food people around them are eating? Feels like loads when you are not, doesn't it? Smile
