Any doing Exante?

Hi.

Just wondering if anyone is doing Exante (or anything similar) currently. I have a few VLCD sachets in my kitchen cupboard and have ordered some bars. I’ll be starting Monday. Anyone else?

My starting weight is 18stone so I have to lose literally half my weight Blush.

Thanks, I think I've broken the binge, for effectively that's what it was, and am feeling better for it now so hopefully I won't fall off the wagon again 😂 my blood glucose was 7.0 this morning so it's coming down 👏 - and I'm 12st 5lb 8oz today. I could feel it was easier walking the dogs this morning so I'm trying to focus on things like that and the glucose reading instead as 'proper' reasons to stick to the plan.

Recycledblonde · 24/05/2021 08:07

I had a good day yesterday for my first day. I’m doing time restricted eating so had a shake at midday, one of the bars then a plate of stir fried cabbage and onion with fish and soy sauce. Loads of water, cinnamon tea and green tea. Not feeling hungry yet today. The shake and bar were really sweet but at least that made sure I didn’t want to have anymore. I’m rather odd in that I don’t really like milk chocolate.

3Britnee · 24/05/2021 08:20

I'm desperate to try those new dark chocolate bars but they aren't on the European site 😔

Helene2019 · 24/05/2021 09:10

@UpsyDaisysarmpit that's loads. Definitely motivating for me.

@3Britnee that's good news about your blood sugar, and staying on plan.

@Recycledblonde day one down! I think I'm now in a routine.

Begining week 4 and feel like I'm in control. I guess I have to see how many more weeks I can do like this. I tried the Exante burst drinks (the no caffeine ones). I quite like them. Make a change from water, kind of like squash but really nice wth crushed ice.

WhoWants2Know · 24/05/2021 11:51

I find that I'm less keen on some of the savoury options, but I agree that the others do seem very sweet considering it's a low calorie plan. I think the Cherries and Berries shakes are my favourite.

riotlady · 24/05/2021 11:57

Thanks @UpsyDaisysarmpit (love the username). That’s a great loss, fingers crossed I’ll manage something like that!

Started this morning, weighing in at 18 stone. Had a double chocolate bar for breakfast.

WhoWants2Know · 24/05/2021 20:28

I'm doing my best, but right now I'd punch somebody for a burrito. But like a medium-sized person, not a huge person.

myrtlehuckingfuge · 25/05/2021 08:27

Hello, glad to see a thread on this. Started yesterday, weigh in 15st. Would like to get to 12.5st. All of it tastes artificial so far (and so sweet) but I think that I have the ability to stick out 28 days on it (just). Will review at that point. Made some low cal soups, dahl and curry and froze just in case I got bored of the taste. Utterly missed the fact that I could have a 'real' snack yesterday too.

Recycledblonde · 25/05/2021 10:45

I’m entering my food into myFitnessPal, getting slightly fed up with being lectured every time I close the diary because I’ve not eaten enough. 😆
Yesterday could have been such a disaster as I went to a friends and she had homemade banana bread, I looked it up and only had a very small slice so just entered the calories. Still came in just under 800 for the day.

3Britnee · 25/05/2021 13:08

Well done recycledblonde.

I've had a salad with ceasar dressing so far today, and I really wanted to do products only but I've done over 16k steps so I'm not getting hung up on it. I'll just have products at 4 and 8 as normal and get back on track.

riotlady · 25/05/2021 16:52

Day 2 and surprised at how unhungry I am- I thought it would be a struggle until keto hit but I’ve been managing fine. Currently having my third product of the day (flapjack- horrible, daal- quite nice, double choc bar- why so salty??) and planning on having boiled eggs and salad around 8pm for my meal.

Recycledblonde · 25/05/2021 17:17

I’ve had porridge, leek and chicken soup and a peanut butter bar. The bar was horrible but the other two things were ok. Just had a tuna salad, just a small amount of tuna mayo with lettuce tomatoes, cucumber, red onion and red cabbage, no dressing. That’s me done food wise for today, just green tea and cinnamon tea now until tomorrow. Have ordered some of the ‘proper meals’ and some more soups.

3Britnee · 25/05/2021 22:14

I've had some sliced chicken, salad and a bit of caesar dressing. A low sugar chocolate smoothie mixed up with an egg, baking powder and a bit of water, baked in the oven to make 'cake', and a bar. I also had a diet fanta when I was out, I didn't want to drink any more fizzy drink but I reckon the occasional one is ok. I've finished today on just under 17,450 steps so I'm happy with that 😁

UpsyDaisysarmpit · 25/05/2021 23:25

I went for a subway salad box this lunchtime so stuck to products the rest of the day (I'd had a porridge pot for breakfast so I had a bar and soup. I normally have my evening meal as real food, but this actually was a nice change!

3Britnee · 26/05/2021 07:00

I miss subway salad! Subway is on my list of places I have to go when I can get back 😂 - along with tgi's, wimpy, pie&mash, kebab and chip shop 😳

I seem to only have one chin instead of three now! Result!

Helene2019 · 26/05/2021 16:21

@riotlady try microwaving the flapjack for about 15-20 seconds before eating. It becomes softer and more like a fruit bread. Also works for the cookies which I think are incredibly dry and difficult to eat if not warmed up.

@WhoWants2Know yay! 🎉

3Britnee · 26/05/2021 17:24

I always have a cup of tea with the bar/biscuit/flapjack. You can't really eat them in their own.

Ooh thank you, I’ll try that!

Today I’ve had a lemon bar, daal and a melt in the middle choc pud, which is probably my favourite product so far. Am freezing cold and weeing like a cart horse which I’m taking as a good sign?

WTF99 · 26/05/2021 19:56

Another pound off for me so 10 in total over 4 and a bit weeks.
I'd like to lose another stone but I think a combination of my age, relative inactivity as WFH and not loads to lose is making every loss hard going, so not convinced my motivation to consume products will last long enough to get me to target. Its variable depending on the day so we'll see!
Still, I feel better than I did 4 weeks ago, and the trend is downwards despite treats wine and gin at weekends.
Good to read updates from everyone

3Britnee · 26/05/2021 21:26

I've had a good-ish day today. I've had:

-Exante sausage mix, mushrooms, red onion.
-2 guinadillas (like little kebab chillis) and a gherkin.
-Supermarket equivalent of exante bar.
-2 romaine lettuce leaves, squirted with ceaser dressing, one sprinkled with a few crispy onions.
-Exante gooey chocolate pudding.

5 green teas.
1 cherry tea.
Minimum 3L water.

= 878 calories.

My app reckons I've burnt 210 calories in activity.

12st 3lb 6oz this morning and my blood glucose was 7.1.

Ginevere · 26/05/2021 21:32

I’ve had huge success with exante in the past, and due to give birth in 6 weeks with lots of baby weight to lose. Wondering if anyone knows if you can exante while breastfeeding?? I’ve had a google with mixed results!

riotlady · 26/05/2021 21:59

@Ginevere Very low calorie diets aren't reccomended for breastfeeding mums, so while you could have some of the products I think you'd need to eat more calories in your evening meal.
