Hi.

Just wondering if anyone is doing Exante (or anything similar) currently. I have a few VLCD sachets in my kitchen cupboard and have ordered some bars. I’ll be starting Monday. Anyone else?

My starting weight is 18stone so I have to lose literally half my weight Blush.

@3britnee can you get the strips on the Internet? Weeing didn't slow down after 2 weeks so I'm not sure it will!

3Britnee · 11/05/2021 08:40

Maybe. If I order them from the uk I'll probably have to pay import tax and mess about with customs. I don't know if you can get them on eu sites. I'll look in a minute. Getting deliveries is a pita though because our mailbox lapsed. Also, I don't trust the post if it has to come to your house, every time I've ordered to the house it goes missing or there's an issue. Its easier just to go to the chemist and possibly buy a new machine if they don't have these strips.

Morning all
Well I weighed this morning and am a pound up on my sneaky mid week weigh in but 6 pounds down overall in just over 2 weeks which is ok i suppose.
Doing my best not to be disheartened and I guess progress might be slow as I now have only just over a stone to lose. I'm determined to shift it though and surely its got to come off as over the week I must be in a significant calorie deficit.
I'm not really hungry on this diet but do have to resist eating for comfort and through boredom. I live alone and WFH so lots of time to fill Sad
Hope you all have a good day

If anyone is interested , there is a new exante whats app support group , I'm not sure how to link to it , but it's a link off the exante uk Facebook group . It only started up yesterday so don't worry you won't fit in or anything as none of us know each other yet

This is the new support group

WTF99 · 11/05/2021 10:55

Thanks for the link cute but probably not for me. I'm distracted enough with the FB group and with Mumsnet! Grin

2nd weigh in and exactly 1 kilo gone and another inch off my waist Smile

3Britnee · 12/05/2021 16:37

Well done 👏

WhoWants2Know · 12/05/2021 22:07

Hi everyone, I've just ordered a two week pack, so I haven't officially started. I've cut out sweets and tried to eat carefully since the weekend to try to ease into it, but I could cheerfully inhale a packet of biscuits.

Helene2019 · 12/05/2021 22:28

@WTF99 and @Babysharkdoodoodood well done on your lbs lost 👏

I think I'm almost 1.5 weeks in and feeling I'm at risk of not sticking to it/losing motivation/giving up this week. Hopefully the scales will show a small loss tomorrow to keep me motivated.

That's great! Always the downside of weighing oneself midweek though!
3Britnee · 13/05/2021 08:34

Arghhh I'm hungry this morning 😬

Trying to distract myself with teas 😂

3Britnee · 14/05/2021 13:28

How is everyone doing, with the weekend coming?

I'm doing ok, I met ny friend earlier and was very tempted to have a cake and tea after our walk but compromised on getting more salad to have each day, instead of giving that up. I think I'll have a exante pizza tonight, as its friday, so I'll add some mushrooms and a slice of chorizo to that, and I think I will still have a small side salad.

WhoWants2Know · 14/05/2021 14:31

My first pack just arrived in time for lunch, and I'm kind of looking forward to having less cooking and washing up to do!

I have been feeling it a bit today too. Almost counting the time to the next time I could eat. Massively regretted choosing the peanut butter bar for my 3rd thing of the day - the first ones I had were fine, but these taste a bit burnt and darker colour too. Is it just me, or do they vary? I had a McDonald's crispy chicken salad today which is over the 200 limit I know, but I was taking my daughter ( sitting outside) and other than coffee there's very little else. I'd had the Subway box salads when we were taking home, and they are great.
3Britnee · 15/05/2021 00:03

I used to get a (4) nugget happy meal with salad instead of fries and cherry tomatoes, with a water.

I don't know if you can have salad in a happy meal in the UK? That could be an option for the future, if you can.

Here, you can choose cherry tomatoes as a side and a dessert. You could have two portions of tomatoes if you wanted 😂

WhoWants2Know · 15/05/2021 14:38

The first couple of things I chose from the two week pack tasted like flavoured play-doh, so I'm relieved to have found a couple of nice bars now.

My targeted ads are now all for diet foods...

Helene2019 · 16/05/2021 10:43

@WhoWants2Know oh dear what did you try that tasted like playdoh? I pretty much like all the shakes and most of the bars. Least favourite things are the shepherds pie and the bolognaise - don't even like the smell of them. Very much like the porridge, berry muesli is a morning go to and the Dahl pots. Good luck in the rest of your first week.

My week 2 weigh in: down 1 lb (total 4lbs). BMI down to 27.8 (started at 28.5). Very pleased there is any loss at all as I had the two week wobbles and did go over plan with pizza twice this week and bagels once (clearly craving bread!). On the flip side I have unexpectedly had no craving/binging of chocolate so my strategy of portioned out 70% dark chocolate with hazlenuts has worked and kept it at bay this week.

Goal this week is to smash the 1 BMI point loss and get to 27.5 (and make a strategy for bread cravings).

WhoWants2Know · 16/05/2021 18:41

Lol, the first things I tried were a chocolate coconut bar and a cookies & cream shake. Later, people in the Facebook group said that they were they were the worst ones 😂

UpsyDaisysarmpit · 16/05/2021 23:31

I actually like the cookies and cream shake! Haven't found a shake I disliked yet! Plenty of savoury options that I wish I hadn't tried though!
I liked my first peanut butter bar so bought more - and they were hideous Hmm

3Britnee · 17/05/2021 12:38

Try one after microwaving it, that makes a big difference.

WhoWants2Know · 17/05/2021 12:49

Oooh, I never thought of microwaving them!

I have tried two soups that I wasn't keen on, so I'm not sure about the savoury stuff. But I've liked all the shakes and bars I've tried beyond the first ones.

3Britnee · 17/05/2021 14:48

Most of the savory ones are 🤮

The eggs and bacon, fajitas, pizza, chilli, dahl pots are 👌 though.

Helene2019 · 17/05/2021 23:25

I agree with @3Britnee I microwave the bars/cookies for about 15s. They become soft and gooey which is nice.

@WhoWants2Know the only soup I've liked is the ham, mushroom and pasta one not sure if they do it anymore.

Today I have come in 100cals under my 1200 limit (first time on this exante stint!). But also don't feel hungry either. Have been super busy so wonder if that's just distracted me from eating all day 🙃

MollyBloomYes · 18/05/2021 00:17

Oooh hello! I've been looking for an active thread on here for a vlcd! I have to admit I'm probably doing slim and save-had huge success with this last year then came off for Christmas, caught covid and it all went a bit wrong. Haven't gained everything back but probably about half of it.

I ordered a load of exante packs but all the shipping issues and the official Facebook group put me off a little I must admit, the sns group admins are on it and they have a reward scheme (I promise I'm not a shill for them!)

So if you guys don't mind an sns interloper I'd love to join in, we're all doing basically the same thing. I know it works and I know I can get back in the zone I just need to START and get through the first week! Annoyingly the exante shakes are better in terms of flavour range so I might do a bit of comparison and see if they're the same carbs/calories/sugar wise so I can mix it up.

Doing measurement and starting tomorrow but committing tonight by posting!
