Sorry to hear your interview didn't go well @purplegirl13. I like the sound of those tacos. We are having homemade pizza - lovely but obviously not very diet friendly so I expect maintaining is the best I can hope for on Friday Grin

Sooverthemill · 27/05/2021 07:11

@neverenoughchelseaboots I used to have hello fresh and sometimes have MindfulChef now. I save all the cards and reproduce the recipes we like

WellTidy · 27/05/2021 07:49

I am enjoying the recipe suggestions, they’re great!

I fell off the wagon again on Tuesday night. My mum came to stay for a few days and encouraged me and DH to go out for dinner. That turned into cocktails, mains, a shared pudding and a Tia Maria coffee. I put on 1.5lb overnight again, so back up to 9st 5lb. I know it will come off, but the 2lb that went on after my massive celebrations a fortnight ago took exactly a fortnight to come off. So I definitely can’t keep having celebrations on such a regular basis!

DH, of course, hasn’t put on any weight as a result.

Did a four mile walk at 7am yesterday to collect the car from the restaurant Smile

SwimmingOnEggshells · 27/05/2021 09:45

@WellTidy but you haven't seen your mum in so long, that's definitely worthy of some celebrations :)

I slipped up again yesterday, coffee for breakfast, smoothie for lunch, bean enchiladas for dinner but I also had a g&t, two glasses of wine and two packets of crisps Blush

purplegirl13 · 27/05/2021 09:49

@SwimmingOnEggshells thanks for that link, I saw it in time to add a few ingredients to my online grocery order, I think I will have the tacos at the weekend.

@Morningmaeve thanks, I'm feeling much better about the whole situation now. I am fully expecting to have maintained gained when I jump on the scales tomorrow.

@WellTidy ooh I can't recall the last time I had a tia maria, I was late to the party but discovered baileys coffee last year. It sounds like you had a lovely night out though, and it's not a daily occurrence. Good job on the walk! Now it's stopped raining, I must get myself out for a walk soon.

I had more ice cream yesterday, and then because I've been craving puff pasty because of swimming I had 4 large spring rolls (from the freezer) as that was the closest thing I had. The ice cream and spring rolls haven't been calorie counted and won't be.

Today's plan is to try and stick to the plan:
B - greek yogurt and frozen berries
L - salad with cottage cheese
D - I am making this for the first time myheartbeets.com/chickpea-cauliflower-coconut-curry/ served with rice
NO ICE CREAM

purplegirl13 · 28/05/2021 08:39

So I'm up by 1.8lbs today, which puts me at 10st2.2. Time will tell if this if a real gain or fluctuation.

I keep falling out of the zone, and need to find my way back. My main meals are mostly ok, but it's the ice cream and snacks that are my downfall. Will try to focus on more protein at main meals to see if it helps.

Good luck to anyone weighing in today

SwimmingOnEggshells · 28/05/2021 09:33

I'm up as well @purplegirl13 8 stone 8 lbs and 3/4s. Bloody annoying but I know I haven't been eating as well as I could be. And of course, it's probably because i'm in a healthy BMI now, it's just so hard to care as much as I did at the start.

purplegirl13 · 28/05/2021 10:55

@SwimmingOnEggshells I can easily see how hard it would be to keep on track when you reach a healthy BMI.

I don't want to not enjoy myself when socialising with others or feel bad if I put on weight as a consequence. It's learning what the balance is. I say that, knowing I'm staying with friends next weekend and have got a few dinners out scheduled for the next few weeks.

Anyway, I weighed again before my shower and I'm recording 10st2 instead of the earlier 10st2.2 Smile

BlodwinTheThird · 28/05/2021 10:55

I had a 1.5 loss this week which means I have inched my way into the nine stone somethings bu a whisker. It will all go back on and then some next week though as am on hol with friends and family and will be eating out every day.

Good luck to everyone weighing in, and to those who have gained or maintained - keep your resolve, you know that a gain/maintain is usually followed by a loss x

Morningmaeve · 28/05/2021 13:24

Checking in the say hello - no change here as expected. Renewed focus required...

humptydumpty21 · 28/05/2021 20:24

Checking in for this week - no loss for me. I knew this might happen once restrictions were lifted, on to next week.

purplegirl13 · 28/05/2021 20:43

Ending the day with no ice cream consumed. Counting that as a small win

B - Greek yogurt, frozen berries, mixed nuts
L- salad with avocado and veggie 'kebab' pieces
S - nuts
D - cauliflower and chickpea curry with rice

Knittingnanny · 28/05/2021 22:35

No change for me this week either!
I’m going to have to try very hard this coming sunny week and avoid the ice creams.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 28/05/2021 23:33

@purplegirl13 well done in abstaining, can't say the same for myself - I ate half a tub of flake ice cream with DH! It was gone in less than 5 minutes! Blush
Tomorrow is another day and all that

WellTidy · 29/05/2021 09:40

A week when some of us are up, some the same and one loss. But we can do this! Yes we can!

Went out to a very lovely lunch with my mum during the week too, which means that I am 9st 4.25lb. Completely to be expected. Friends coming over today and I’ve already written it off on the food and drink front and will enjoy what I have.

This increased socialising is hard for me on the weight loss front, but so fantastic on the feel better front! I think I’ll be able to keep things under control (ish) when we’re not socialising, but all the good is three undone, and at the moment that is twice a week or more.

purplegirl13 · 29/05/2021 10:48

We absolutely can do it, we have to accept there will be weeks we lose, gain, maintain. It was always going to be slooooow journey for us shorties.

I remembered that I have a hospital appt end of July and want to be as close to a healthy BMI as possible by then. That will spur me on, hopefully.

I am off to spend a few hours with my nephew, and have made a salad to take with me.

Today's plan:
B - greek yogurt and frozen berries
L - salad (veggie protein tbc)
D - halloumi, pepper and sweetcorn tacos (thanks to @neverenoughchelseaboots for the idea and @SwimmingOnEggshells for the link!)

I hope you all have a lovely day

@BlodwinTheThird good job on seeing the 9's and enjoy your break!

Knittingnanny · 29/05/2021 16:14

We are having a beach trip about 6 and husband making noises about fish and chips! I’ve got a chicken and sweet corn salad in the fridge so I’m going to take that with me as I actually don’t fancy chips! At least the seagulls will leave me alone.

purplegirl13 · 29/05/2021 19:08

@Knittingnanny that sounds lovely! Here's hoping the pesky seagulls keep their distance

The halloumi, pepper, and sweetcorn tacos were tasty, and so easy! I planned on 3 (using small tortilla wraps) but ended up having 4.

For those of you with partners, and kids I don't know how you keep on track, I am in awe of you not scoffing all the snacks in the house. A trip to visit my nephew resulted in me inhaling eating half an Easter egg, and a bag of crisps. At least at home, I just don't have the stuff in the flat to resist or anyone offering up snacks.

purplegirl13 · 30/05/2021 10:15

Today's plan:
B - greek yogurt and berries
L - tbc, I'm meeting a friend at a cafe. never been there before but I'm aiming for poached eggs on toast and a very sugary coffee
D - leftover halloumi, pepper and sweet corn tacos

I wanted to try and get out and start C25K this morning but didn't go, I've just built it up in my head and made it a massive deal. I will try for early eve, or first thing tomorrow. I want to go to the park when it's reasonably quiet.

purplegirl13 · 30/05/2021 20:24

I won't even mention the food consumed today but I needed to share that I did my first run (if it can really be called that) of the couch 2 5k programme! I only jogged about 6 mins in total between all the walking but I did it.

Morningmaeve · 30/05/2021 21:54

Go you @purplegirl13 I did C25K a few years ago but then got injured and stopped running. I need to do it again!

neverenoughchelseaboots · 31/05/2021 10:10

Amazing @purplegirl13, really well done. The whole idea of c25k is that it does involve a lot of walking. So you've achieved exactly what is meant to be 🙂

OP posts:
neverenoughchelseaboots · 31/05/2021 10:13

Oh and on the 'how do parents resist the children's snacks' question - my strategy is I'm still buying exorbitantly priced weaning snacks even though she's nearly 4 because in my head they've baby food and therefore gross. And it means I don't feel guilty about her running on mainly 'carrot cake' for most of the weekend.

OP posts:
SwimmingOnEggshells · 31/05/2021 15:19

I have no solutions for that conundrum @neverenoughchelseaboots, we always have treats in the house for kids and it can be so hard to desist.

How was everyone's weekend? I weirdly can't actually remember what I ate this weekend but I don't think I did too badly.

Today I've had
Coffee
Soup and slice of bread with olive tapenade on it
Dinner is sea bass with rice and green beans

SwimmingOnEggshells · 31/05/2021 15:20

Oh actually maybe I didn't do so fabulously - I forgot about the tub of Flake ice cream Blush
