I feel more at home with you lot Smile

You can bet if I had to cook Christmas dinner, I'd have an auto populated sheet!

@SwimmingOnEggshells I can't wait to hit green on the bmi column!

purplegirl13 · 21/05/2021 14:27

@Lulooo welcome. You've done well in 1.5 months!

SwimmingOnEggshells · 21/05/2021 14:30

Isn't it interesting how every inch makes a difference to your BMI? I hit normal BMI range at just a smidgeon under 9 stone. Gah, the joys of being 5 foot.

It seems to be about 9 stone 6 for a 5 foot 1inch person to reach a BMI of 25.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 21/05/2021 14:38

Sorry it's actually:

4'11 hits a healthy BMI at 8 stone 11lbs

5'0 hits a healthy BMI at a 9 stone

5'1 hits a healthy BMI at 9 stone 6lbs

5'2 hits a healthy BMI at 9 stone 8lb and a half

5'3 hits a healthy BMI at 10 stone

Knittingnanny · 21/05/2021 16:55

I love the spreadsheets! I’ve got the apple health icon on my screen and as I’ve had three targets I can look at 3 different graphs. Knitting nanny 1, 2 and currently knittingnanny 3.
Not that I’m knitting much at the moment, arthritic finger, a probable tear in rotator cuff ( awkward lifting of baby car seat out with chubby 8 month old in situ) and insomnia!
After moving the 2 pairs of dodgy scales around the kitchen floor to find the best place, the digital ones showed 8 st 10.4 lbs this morning.

The wind is making me want to stuff my face with sugary stuff. There is a fence panel in my back garden which is slightly moving to and fro in the concrete post and I am irrationally furious with because of the whiny, whistles, knocking noise it is making. If my husband doesn’t get back soon from his diy job I may eat everything in the house and put back on the 20lb it has taken me 8 months to lose.

I’m not having a good day, can you tell? I decided to paint my nails to stop me eating the cheese I’ve grated to go on top of the portioned spaghetti Bol for tea, but the only one I had in the house had gone all gloopy and I had no remover to thin it.

It will all pass and tomorrow will be fine.

purplegirl13 · 21/05/2021 17:01

It is interesting to see the difference between the heights. I'm tempted to check what a BMI of 25 is for those 5'3 and over

I'm checking in for the day

B - coconut yogurt with kiwi
L - lentil and chickpea soup (no bread!)
S - rhubarb trifle
Dinner will be chilli tofu, and leftover quinoa

I have to work out the calories but think it'll only be about 1100 today, but I plan on making a cosmo tomorrow and having a carby dinner tomorrow so all balances out

purplegirl13 · 21/05/2021 17:04

Oh @Knittingnanny that does not sounds like a good day, I'd be a bit grumpy myself but yay to your 8st10.4. It's a new day tomorrow x

BlodwinTheThird · 21/05/2021 18:35

@purplegirl13 that’s right! We might be in the 9s this time next.....nope! Let’s not jinx it!

I have not had a good day today food wise. Bit sick of it all really. Need to get my motivation back.

Knittingnanny · 21/05/2021 18:36

@purplegirl13 hopefully I will remember the location of the special spot on the kitchen floor next Friday!

Morningmaeve · 21/05/2021 19:47

@SwimmingOnEggshells - same for me one pound since 20th April but I am now in healthy bmi range which I wasn't last summer at 10 stone 4lb and 5ft 2 so can't complain. Probably explains why it gets increasingly difficult to lose more weight

ApplePenPineapplePen · 22/05/2021 10:05

5ft1 and 13st10 here so a hippo compared with moat of you! but even in my early 20s exercising and dieting like mad I was never lighter than 9st 7. I am pretty solid, size 5 feet and thick wrists. Petite and delicate is not me! So if I could get under 10st7 before I hit 50 in 2 years I would be ecstatic . Always eaten relatively healthily but large portions and too many calories for my sedentery life these days due to working 50+ hours a week in a deskjob. Lost 3lbs over last 2 weeks through more conscious choices like making an omelette for lunch instead of a sandwich. I just struggle to keep it up. And now I am about to make birthday cake for my DC and do my best not to lick the bowl Grin dieting when I lived alone was so much easier. I could only have salad in the fridge and avoid all temptation but I am determined that DC don't see me eat special food or get consumed by a diet.

Lulooo · 22/05/2021 10:25

@ApplePenPineapplePen I was exactly where you are about 9 weeks ago and I'm now about a stone and a half lighter. If you've always eaten healthy it's a good start as you've got less to training and habit changing. Good luck to you!

I also eat quite healthy- I cook all my own meals and eat a lot of veg. My problem is my sweet tooth- I'm working on breaking the habit of eating a sweet sugary snack a few times a day.
Weekends are always a challenge. I'm determined to conquer this one. As long as I keep distracted but don't overly tire myself and then look for a comfort snack I'll be okay.

purplegirl13 · 22/05/2021 11:45

@BlodwinTheThird it's within reach so I'm hoping it will keep me on track this week.

@Knittingnanny you should have marked the area with tape Wink X marks the spot! I hope you're having a better start to the day.

@ApplePenPineapplePen welcome

Quick accountability post for me now

B - cherry kefir drink
S - cucumber slices spread with boursin (way nicer than I expected!)
L - leftover chilli tofu
D - spaghetti, veggie meatballs, topped with a decent amount of cheese

Am sure I'll reach for the dark choc this evening as well.

Have a lovely day

AuldFox · 22/05/2021 12:33

Everyone is welcome here, no matter your starting weight. You just need to be hobbit sized Grin

Knittingnanny · 22/05/2021 14:10

@ApplePenPineapplePen it’s 100% more difficult with children in the house, especially trying not to mention any of the words like diet, diet food etc. Best wishes to you
By the way, my 6 year old granddaughter is obsessed with Apple pen video and I have to keep watching it too!

Badgerstmary · 22/05/2021 16:06

Hi, I’ve been following this thread for a while but hadn’t posted before as everyone had seemed so light. However, I started eating sensibly 4 weeks ago. I’m 5 3, 49 yrs old & don’t want to be fat & fifty.
Sw 12 st 7 1/2
Cw 11 st 7
Tw 9 st 12 (as I can’t imagine being less than this)

SwimmingOnEggshells · 22/05/2021 22:11

Exactly what @AuldFox said @Badgerstmary, I would hate to think people might put off by lighter people on the thread. The more the merrier I say!!

Welcome fellow diminutive ladies!

SwimmingOnEggshells · 22/05/2021 22:23

@Badgerstmary amazing progress btw, 1 stone already, high five! Grin

purplegirl13 · 23/05/2021 11:41

@Badgerstmary welcome! Agree with the others, do join us - I think we''re a friendly bunch Smile and I wouldn't want people to feel unwelcome here because of their starting weight. We all have to start somewhere.
Well done on your loss so far! What have you found working for you?

I stuck to plan yesterday, with the addition of a 50g bag of crisps. I've realised those little 25g bags are gone in 5 seconds!

This morning I woke up wanting something a bit more than yogurt, so brunch has been rye toast (gutted not have sourdough in), avocado, 2 poached eggs and 2 hash browns. Should keep me going for a while!

I need to focus on interview prep for tomorrow, it''s my first interview in a while so I'm nervous! At least it means I'm won't eat much tomorrow due to nerves Wink

BlodwinTheThird · 23/05/2021 13:10

I’ve fallen spectacularly off the wagon!! Oh well, today is a new day. It’s a marathon not a sprint right?

@Badgerstmary you’ve done spectacularly well in the last four weeks. I bet you feel better already. Keep going girl!

@purplegirl13 good luck with your interview tomorrow! 🤞

purplegirl13 · 23/05/2021 13:40

@BlodwinTheThird the trick is keep dusting yourself on and getting back on the wagon Wink My tummy is in knots about this interview already, I feel quite emotional so really need to calm down before tomorrow.

Knittingnanny · 23/05/2021 18:55

I fell off today as well, but still no processed sugar, although it probably would have been less calorific!
Went to windy Southsea for my second jab and the cupboards are almost empty ready for click and collect. So I decided to have a really bad (nutritionally wise ) dinner- pancakes. I looked forward to them all day.
Same recipe as always, same pan, same heat, timing etc
Disaster, don’t know what went wrong, I ate all the ok bits and threw the rest of the burned stodgy mess in the bin.
Then rampaged through the cupboards and ate crackers and cheese, yoghurt and berries, more cheese.
I might as well have gone to a lovely tea shop and had a big slice of yummy cake!

purplegirl13 · 23/05/2021 19:05

knitting how disappointing,. especially if you were looking forward to those pancakes.

My main meals were fine but then inhaled a large bar of dark choc, crisps and ice cream. Feeling sick now so hoping that's me done for the day.

Zoomoff · 23/05/2021 19:29

I've realised over the last week or so that I'm an emotional eater. I like to celebrate with food! I've had some really good news over the last 10 days or so and have fallen off the wagon spectacularly (working my way through a medium sized bar of Galaxy caramel right now which is the dessert to my large piece of white crusty bread with a thick covering of half fat cream cheese and around a third of a sharing bag of doritos and lunch was a two course roast at a local restaurant). I haven't weighed at all this last week and dreading doing it tomorrow morning.

I wish I could be on of those strange people who forgets to eat.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 23/05/2021 20:45

We've all been there @Zoomoff @purplegirl13 and @Knittingnanny. There's just so much nice food out there!

I was no angel myself this weekend. Last night we had family over and I had steak and chips with a very rich sauce and then pavlova for dessert. I also drank way too much wine. I'm hoping it's offset by the fact I had a rice cake and a leftover crust from DDs sandwich for lunch. Also no breakfast. All in all not very healthy but I rarely eat meat these days so I don't feel too guilty about the steak. And I need the iron of course

Best of luck tomorrow @purplegirl13 , have you ever used rescue remedy? I find it great. I used beta blockers for a big work event recently and they helped my nerves loads, prob a bit late to get them but worth looking into if you've a tendency to turn into a nervous wreck like I do!
