Congratulations! @neverenoughchelseaboots
Well done @TheProvincialLady, you've reached your target.

Weigh in:
8st 8 (-2lbs)

Good luck to everyone.

AuldFox · 07/05/2021 14:11

As expected, I’m maintaining at 8st 10.
I’d love a great salad recipe, the delicious ones I know all depend on heavy calorific dressings.

Happy Friday everyone!

humptydumpty21 · 07/05/2021 15:57

Halloumi and puy lentil salad
Grill halloumi
Chopped cucumber
Chopped chillies
Cherry tomatoes
Bunch if roughly chopped coriander
Dressing: lemon juice with extra virgin oil mixed
Add puy lentils (I use microwave pack)
Mix all together and add grilled halloumi on top to serve.

humptydumpty21 · 07/05/2021 16:00

I'm also making chia pots with almond or coconut milk, topped with fruit. Makes a very filling snack.

How do people feel about them?

neverenoughchelseaboots · 07/05/2021 19:15

That salad sounds lovely @humptydumpty21 Halloumi and lentils are two of my favourites so it sounds like something I'd definitely enjoy.

Today's plan:
B - raspberry kerfir drink
L - soup from the freezer - www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/red-lentil-chickpea-chilli-soup with some rye bread topped with boursin
D - tofu & veg thai red curry and rice.

purplegirl13 · 09/05/2021 09:21

I went little overboard on snacking last night, once I started I couldn't stop. Today is a new day.

B - tbc
L - halloumi burger and chips (am out for lunch)
D - leftover tofu red thai curry and rice

Have a good day everyone.

WellTidy · 09/05/2021 09:48

I get it @purplegirl13. I only ate one proper meal yesterday and so have gone well over my allocated calories by eating carbs all day like two bagels and sourdough toast. And then chocolate. I was just super lazy and so I’ve put on a quarter of a pound.

9st 4.75lb today. Only three weeks to lose 4.75lb and get to 9stone for the end of the month, which was my next goal. It’s too much of an ask for me.

But getting towards that is now my goal.

I liked seeing your progress purple. Well done. Here is mine:

4 Jan 2021 - 10st 13.5lb (highest weigh ever whilst not pregnant)
1 feb - 10st 2lb
1 March - 9 st 13lb
9 March - 9st 11lb
22 March - 9st 11lb
27 March - 9st 9lb
30 March - 9st 8lb
24 April - 9st 4lb
and I’ve fluctuated between 9st 4 and 9st 5 or so since.

Still aiming for 8stone and between 8 and 12lb. So at least half a stone left to lose. Just not as motivated to work hard towards it!

purplegirl13 · 09/05/2021 10:12

@WellTidy you've done so well. I think it's so inspiring to see how far we've come, all those 1lbs all add up. My goal is 8st7 (would love 8st5 though!) but I find it easier to hit the little goals so it's not so overwhelming. My next goal is 10st mark, getting to 7lbs lost on Friday was my first mini goal. Posting on this thread really keeps me accountable and going. I am sure I would have stopped by now otherwise.

I think it's helpful to have goals but don't do well with time pressures. Normally I would have said xx off by the end of month or by my birthday etc, but have noticed I feel so much better just keeping on going with no deadline. With the caveat I continue to keep losing each week.

Sourdough is lovely isn't it! I would have definitely had a few slices last night if I'd had any in the freezer.

Teaand · 09/05/2021 11:54

Can I join. I am just 5'2 and after losing weight after my youngest a few years ago it had been creeping on before the first lock down and then skyrocketed. I used the last lockdown to start exercising and completed the couch to 5k in a bid to start getting fitter I now need the weight start coming down. I work in kilos (not sure why I think I find the numbers less scary and find it easier for mine goals) I lost a kilo in the last week when I started to make the effort. I would like to lose 12 more. Maybe a little more to get back to me pre children weight. But 12 would see be comfortably I a healthy bmi range. I think I need a hand hold as I have been finding working and running around after small children means I often get distracted. But I really want to start feeling like me again.

Sooverthemill · 09/05/2021 12:12

I have to get back on track this week. From Tuesday because tomorrow is DHs birthday and we've booked a sitter so we can go for a walk by the sea with a coffee/ cake first thing and I've bought stuff to make a 3 course dinner for him later. He has to work all day so try g to make it special, thank goodness our local bakery/ coffee shop opens at 8. But at this very moment I can feel the rolls off at creeping over my jeans and I hate it!

Morningmaeve · 10/05/2021 10:13

I have to get back on track too - I let getting under 9 stone 2lb go to my head and totally took my eye off the ball. Renewed effort this week including upping water intake and exercise plan...and lowering booze intake as that is really sabotaging my efforts.

WellTidy · 10/05/2021 10:25

@Teaand welcome. We are all at different stages of our weight loss journey, having started at different points, with different aims. Everyone is welcome. You are well on your way with your 5k, so good luck.

@purplegirl13 yes, this thread has been very motivating for me too. I know I've stalled a bit, but I haven't gained, and I think I would have otherwise.

Strangely, I think if the weather was warmer, I would be more motivated to keep losing. I am still in jeans and sweatshirts, whereas I am sure that this time last year I was in linen. I would love to be able to fit into more of my wardrobe before the warm weather comes, so I need to get losing again.

@Sooverthemill that sounds like a lovely plan for tomorrow. I hope you enjoy it.

@Morningmaeve sounds like a plan. you can do it!

Sooverthemill · 10/05/2021 11:12

It was lovely. We saw the sea and had a walk, bought a cake but haven't eaten it yet. Was a nice way to start the week. And first time apart from vaccination that I've been out since December and that was the first since September!

WellTidy I feel clothes I want to fit back into might have a motivating factor as well. I may have also been looking at things to add to my wardrobe when I have lost fone of the weight.

Omg I weighed myself this morning. I've put on 3 pounds. Hoping that it's a fluctuation rather than a trend. Going to very firm with myself now. I'd like to lose 7 pounds in the next month ( assuming I'm not actually 3 pounds heavier)

purplegirl13 · 11/05/2021 10:50

welcome @Teaand well done on C25K I am planning on starting next week. Do you have a plan in mind?

@Sooverthemill sounds like a lovely day yesterday. I hope you've had a little slice of cake by now.

@Morningmaeve I've slipped off track as well, only a few days so far but I know it's a slippery slope so I'm resetting from today. Reaching 7lbs lost went to my head Smile

@WellTidy I agree if it was warmer, that would spur me on a bit more as well. I have a wardrobe of lovely summer dresses I can't fit into!

Ok, now I've caught up I can admit to falling off-track but back on it today. With weigh in on Friday, I'm committing to 3 days of no crisps, chocolate, ice cream or bread. It's not forever but I can do 3 days to reset. I did open a bottle of wine yesterday so I'll finish that up with a glass of wine tonight and tonight (with it fitting into my calorie allowance). Not calorie counting for 2/3 days has been freeing but also caused me to slip into a bit of a free for all.

purplegirl13 · 11/05/2021 10:53

*wine tonight and tomorrow

Today:
B - nothing (sipping on green tea now)
L - scrambled eggs, veggie sausages, kimchi (weird mix but finishing up stuff before grocery delivery tomorrow)
D - rice and dal

I have broccoli, potato and half a courgette to use up so I'll make soup (for the freezer)

WellTidy · 11/05/2021 11:32

I’d really recommend the fluctuations YouTube video @Sooverthemill when you’ve had an unexpected gain. It really helps me stay on track and not be down on myself

I am full of good intentions but struggling. I’ve already had an almond croissant and an oat milk latte today. I won’t have anything now until mid afternoon, and will have a small portion of a normal family dinner (sausages, mashed potato, carrots and roast parsnips going on here this evening, so will need to watch my portion size). I’ve done an hour and a half walk this morning so hopefully that will counter some of the effects. I’ve turned to food as I discovered last night that my debit card has been cloned and loads of fraudulent transactions have been made. Took a good couple of hours to sort it all out but I’m not out of pocket, thankfully. This is the second time it’s happened to me and I’m wondering whether it’s because I do so much online shopping (possibly because my youngest’s needs mean that I have to buy things as soon as I see them as they go out of stock so quickly, but also because I am very click happy at the best of times). My details must be with a zillion online sellers! I know it’s not personal but I feel oddly shaken.

purplegirl13 · 11/05/2021 12:46

@WellTidy that is horrible news. It's only happened to me once about 20 years ago (a reasonably small amount) but I remember the panic of how much might go out of my acct and the worry I wouldn't get the money back.

It sounds like a few of us are struggling to stay on track at the moment but I find posting on here (and being honest) keeps me accountable.

It would be very easy right now for me to continue inhaling the crisps and chocolates but I'm trying a small goal of the next 3 days on track so it doesn't feel too overwhelming.

Knittingnanny · 11/05/2021 20:05

Hello everyone sounds like we have all had a bit of an off week.
I haven’t weighed for a week but back on track tomorrow so hopefully will still be under 9st.
I tried on the unforgiving size ten mother of the bridegroom I squeezed into 6 years ago at around 9 1/2 stone and I could wear it again this week if anyone needs an emergency wedding guest!
Day 35 of no sugar and was able to resist a slice of birthday cake today

Knittingnanny · 11/05/2021 20:06

Although I could still eat husbands birthday chocolate that’s still looking at me in one sitting!

Teaand · 11/05/2021 21:31

@purplegirl13 good luck with the couch to 5k. I have decided I really enjoy running and time just to myself. But have been struggling since completing it I think because ivan surrounded by hills it just makes harder to improve. My plan with weight loss is calorie counting. I am trying to be super strict the first few weeks for two reasons one as I seem to find it easier to stick to once I have got through the first two weeks and secondly I am hoping early loss will motivate me.
