Welcome @Gingernaut, I weighed 12 stone post pregnancy, took me ages to lose that weight. Years. Slow and steady wins the race. Good luck, you can do it! Smile

WellTidy · 29/04/2021 17:33

Welcome Ginger. Whilst I am less than a stone from the weight I want to be right now, I wasn’t when I started. We all start somewhere. A stone and a half later, I’m glad I did. Good luck.

Still 9st 4.75lb here, which I am pleased with given the birthday celebrations (cake) for Ds. I am mindful that I want the Dc to see me enjoying all types of food, so I happily tucked in and celebrated in the same way as they did.

Walked for just over an hour yesterday, and an hour and a half today. Will try and do the same tomorrow, to set me up for the bank holiday weekend.

purplegirl13 · 29/04/2021 18:07

@WellTidy I wouldn't be able to moderate with a bag of chocolate in the house. Pastries, cheesecake, desserts etc are my thing. I buy a cheesecake and it's gone within 12 hours, I think I will have to buy the 2 portion cheesecake that work out much more expensive next time I fancy a dessert. I am also very late to the game re podcasts, and have only started listening to them.
I am glad you enjoyed the birthday celebrations, and are still doing well with your walks

Welcome@Gingernaut do you have a plan in mind? It really does suck when certain meds cause weight gain. Definitely do concentrate on yourself, self-care is very important to our mental wellbeing.

@Zoomoff sounds like you did well with those hikes by the end of it.

Today:
B/L - cheese salad baguette
S - nuts
D - takeaway veg & tofu thai green curry, with rice

I am still tired and occasionally lightheaded but this is being investigated. Blood tests haven't revealed anything so it's likely to be down to low heart rate. i am making sure to eat enough but must up the fluids!

Gingernaut · 29/04/2021 21:16

No plan, although binge eating a bunch of Skinny Whips won't help.

Start again tomorrow.

BlodwinTheThird · 30/04/2021 07:50

65.5kg (10st 4.4) this week, so down 0.6kg (1.3lbs). BMI 26.6. Going in the right direction but God this feels like a long hard slog :( Still another 8lbs before I even inch into the healthy BMI range.

BlodwinTheThird · 30/04/2021 07:52

Uh, more like 10lbs to healthy BMI. Not sure. Sigh.

Sooverthemill · 30/04/2021 09:09

@BlodwinTheThird don't forget BMI is just one indicator so don't be despondent

AuldFox · 30/04/2021 10:06

Checking in for my Friday weigh-in: 8st 10lb
1 pound lost. I got my period today so I know I won’t lose anything for at least another two weeks as I will mostly be mainlining chocolate

Have a great long weekend everyone! Smile

AuldFox · 30/04/2021 10:09

I’ve been there, I remember being ecstatic once I had a “normal” BMI (like it was some sort of magic barrier, it wasn’t!) It’s a long slog but it’s possible. Keep going!
humptydumpty21 · 30/04/2021 10:35

Checking in: 8.10 (no loss this week). Got my period yesterday and the crunchie made me eat it Grin

TheProvincialLady · 30/04/2021 11:12

Checking in also: 8st 2lbs which is 2lbs down from last week. BMI is now 20.9 and I only have 2lbs to go before I reach my goal. I look ‘myself’ again and all my clothes look so much better. Wow! Now the real challenge of staying this weight and not returning to rubbish habits begins. I think the permanent giving up of Diet Coke and the almost complete permanent giving up of crisps and sweet foods (except whatever I like as a pudding on Saturday) will really help. I don’t even miss it.

Well done Blodwin and Auldfox for your losses. Humpty I never lose weight while on my period - I’m sure we hang onto water. And one 200 calorie chocolate bar won’t make any difference!

WellTidy · 30/04/2021 11:41

9stone 5lb today, which is a gain of 0.25lb on last Friday. Birthday cake and pastries have contributed! But I’ve walked for 90minutes again today so I’m confident that it will shift.

Well done on all the losses!

Zoomoff · 30/04/2021 13:23

I also got my period yesterday (and the awful cramps, back and leg aches) but didn't get a chance to rest yesterday so went back to bed after everyone had left this morning. Slept from 8 until nearly noon! Now craving carbs. I did briefly consider putting a jacket on over my pyjamas and going to a drive through but must maintain some standards (if it was dark I would have probably done it Grin )

Morningmaeve · 30/04/2021 13:29

Well done on losses. I stayed the same and that was expected as that seems to be how it works for me. Half pound loss then a week or two or three (!) where the scales don't move and then another drop. Slow progress indeed but still progress and to be fair I am not being super strict with my diet. 9stone 0.8lb for the record...

Gingernaut · 30/04/2021 13:49

I've made myself record every last calorie of yesterday's binge.

I can't lose weight by forgetting these times ever happened.

purplegirl13 · 30/04/2021 14:30

@BlodwinTheThird I feel your pain, it;s a slow slog but we just need to keep going and we'll eventually get there. Even though some days it feels incredibly overwhelming.

Good losses everyone and @WellTidy that's a tiny gain that'll you'll soon lose.

I forgot to weigh in as had an early hospital appt, had to get the tube (for the first time in over a year). Felt very strange. I did take a walk over to Bravissimo in Oxford Street and bought a sports bra (finally), and got fitted for a new bra. As soon as I'm feeling a bit better, I plan on starting C25K.

Today:
B - kefir drink
S - nuts
L - veggie lasagne and rocket salad
D - no idea yet.

p.s 40mins in a changing room surrounded by mirrors was not fun

browneyedgirl81 · 30/04/2021 21:01

Hi! hope it's ok if i join for May.
I am tiny at 4ft 11, 40 at the end of this year and after 3 children in the last 19 years youngest being 6, at my heaviest i was 11st and my lowest 6st 6 ( underweight and PND after youngest!) i just want to find a happy medium.
Currently weighing in at 8st 8lb and looking to get down to 7st 7lb and see how i feel.
Put a stone on in the last year and just feel really uncomfortable with lots of lovely size 8 clothes ready for summer in my wardrobe!!.
Tomorrow i am stopping the booze for the month and ditching the takeaways and am aiming for 1100 cals a day see how goes, 1lb loss a week is my target wish me luck fellow shorties!!

AuldFox · 30/04/2021 21:43

Tell me about it, I can’t get changed fast enough in one of those Grin
purplegirl13 · 01/05/2021 11:22

welcome @browneyedgirl81

Weighed in this morning and have gained 0.2lb taking me to 10st3. I am fine with this given my lack of movement this week.

Gingernaut · 02/05/2021 09:47

I'm so down.

I'm in pain from what is now a chronic injury and I'm waiting to hear from physiotherapy.

I've got a sick note until Wednesday and frankly, I can't bear the thought of going back - whatever I do there triggers pain.

I binged again yesterday too. 😭

Sooverthemill · 02/05/2021 18:01

@Gingernaut I'm so sorry. That's awful. I hope you can get your sick note extended

Gingernaut · 02/05/2021 19:22

Thanks.

I actually forgot it was a bank holiday, so I'll have to call work on Tuesday to discuss this.

I did buy an expensive pair of work clogs that are supposed to be for people with PF, but they are too narrow and are aggravating my bunions and toe problems. The pain is no better.

purplegirl13 · 02/05/2021 19:30

@Gingernaut I'm sorry to hear you're in pain, I hope you can get your sick note extended to take some time to look after yourself. Don't beat yourself up about the binges, I think that's the last thing you should be doing especially when in pain.

@Knittingnanny are you still at the magic number? I didn't see a check in on Friday, unless I missed it

How is everyone doing?

purplegirl13 · 02/05/2021 19:32

@Gingernaut I meant the last thing should be doing is feeling guilty, not the last thing you should should be doing is bingeing if you know what I mean.
