Appreciate I'm a bit too late for March but didn't want to wait until Thursday to start. I'm 5ft 2 and although a healthy BMI I'm right near the top and don't feel right. I have put on fat around my waist, especially over the last couple of years. In fact even when I haven't gained weight I have gained waist fat. I saw some recent photos this weekend and I know anoraks aren't flattering, but even they don't make your face look chubby! Have started this morning by measuring out 2litres of water to have today (with healthy food of course!)

WellTidy · 29/03/2021 08:55

I actually went back for another three knitting! I too love mini eggs - does anyone think that the pink ones taste different to the others?

Welcome lurking

purple well done on the walk! I didn’t go yesterday, but am hoping to get a good six miles in today. Should be glorious here this afternoon, so it will be a pleasure to go.

I am 9st 8lb this morning. Beyond delighted. This is the lightest I’ve been for nearly two years. And even if I am not 9st 7lb (mini goal) for Easter, I am pretty close now (yo-yo allowing).

My goal is to walk 25 miles over Monday to Thursday this week.

I tend to eat the same meals as the family, just a smaller portion, so looking forward to paella for dinner tonight (my portion will be heavy in the chicken and prawns and low on the chorizo).

Sooverthemill · 29/03/2021 08:58

Had a slightly better weekend and managed to just stick to my 3 meals and no snacks! Stuck at 9 stone .04 lbs so I'm happy with that. Hoping to be under 9 next time I weigh

WellTidy · 29/03/2021 09:07

So it must be really difficult to lose when you don’t have much to lose. I am finding it slow going now and I have a bmi of 26. If I was 9st, I’d have a bmi of 23.8 and I know it would come off much, much slower. Good luck.

Sooverthemill · 29/03/2021 10:40

That's exactly what my BMI is! I would like to be 21 or 22 like I used to be. I know it's only one slightly dodgy way of measuring 'healthy' but it works for me. I used to have a BMI of 18 when I was in my early 30s....

purplegirl13 · 29/03/2021 10:51

A quick post for accountability about my weekend eating and I'll catch up on posts later today.

Saturday went off-plan:
B - cheese toastie and coffee in the park (planned),
L - sandwiches at my sister's (unplanned)
D - feeling so full and bloated in the eve, I I did not feel like dinner. Of course, at 8.30pm I was suddenly ravenous and the only meal that would be ready in a few mins was a massive bowl of pasta.

Interestingly that was the most carbs I had eaten in a couple of weeks and I was so uncomfortable and crampy that evening.

Yesterday
B - nothing
L - ratatouille, with veggie sausages and fried eggs
D - chinese takeaway - veggie pad thai, plain chow mein (had a craving for noodles only)

I did another long walk so went to bed last night having hit nearly 17k steps.

I have absolutely no guilt over the weekend eating - it was not a 'bad' day/meal but off-plan.

Morningmaeve · 29/03/2021 11:40

Hello all. My weekend wasn't great as so often happens but onwards. I would really like to be under 9st 2lb before Easter so I am really going to focus until then.

AuldFox · 29/03/2021 13:13

Hello everyone, it’s a lovely sunny spring day here! Hope you catch some of the sunshine.

I’m reporting a weigh-in of 56.2kg which is about 8st 12 in old money. Couple of more kg will put me comfortably midway in the BMI range. I now fit into a size 10 in most shops, including my boobs which haven’t seen a size 10 in about 15 years! I’m thinking getting to size 8 will mean I look gaunt in the face, so I’ll stick to where I am. I have a friend who looks amazing as a size 6, but she has a lovely round and youthful face and can pull it off.

I’m looking forward to ice cream weather soon. Just think how great we will look wafting about in our summer clothes. Totally worth the pain Smile

FedNlanders · 29/03/2021 17:44

Afternoon all. I went up lb this morning, but I did have Indian yesterday so ignoring it.

TheProvincialLady · 29/03/2021 18:21

Do you mind if I join you? I’m 5’2, 47 and currently 8st 13, down from 9st 5 ten days ago. I did a 3 day juice fast to get me started and to kick the habit of daily cheesecakes. It worked and now I am just trying to eat under 1200 calories as healthily as I can. I want to be 8 stones again (can still remember the days when 8 stones would have felt like incredible obesity Hmm). I’ve found lurking here very inspiring so thank you for that!

humptydumpty21 · 29/03/2021 21:12

@TheProvincialLady may I ask which juice fast you did? I'm sitting on 9.1, would love a little nudge to see 8.... again,

WellTidy · 29/03/2021 21:47

Wow TheProvincial 6lb in ten days is incredible. Welcome!

modernfemininity · 30/03/2021 01:14

Maintaining @modern here to report that I actually maintained this week!

modernfemininity · 30/03/2021 01:23

I added cauliflower rice and chopped carrots to meals to pad them out, I made a three day salad - as in one big enough to last three days!, I made two soups, I have eaten less meat, and I have started to avoid going into the kitchen too often.

I stuck to the 16:8. I do fear that the 16:8 is now just my pattern and it doesn’t help with weight loss or maintaining.

TheProvincialLady · 30/03/2021 01:40

Hello 🙂 and thanks for welcoming me. It was the Nutriseed 3 day juice fast. I have never done one before and wasn’t sure I would be able to manage it, but in the end it was fairly easy. One or two of the juices tasted fairly disgusting to me on day one but by day 3 my taste buds had adjusted and they tasted ok, even pleasant! It was expensive (£70 ouch) but I am really glad I did it. www.nutriseed.co.uk/products/cold-pressed-juice-cleanse

WellTidy · 30/03/2021 04:03

TheProvincial I know that £70 is a lot, but, as these things go, it’s a competitive price. I’ve not done a cleanse as such, but I have bought juices in the past, and done a three or four day one but with juices for breakfast, lunch and a mid afternoon one, and then a small evening meal.

I bought them from Plenish, and they work out at nearly £10 a go, though there is usually a discount code knocking around. One of the green ones isn’t at all nice (to me) - called ‘Fuel’, it is very heavy indeed on the cucumber, whereas the other green one, called Boost, is actually really nice, I think. They’re 500ml per juice, and I tend to drink each one with a pint of water, which is doubly good for me. I’d recommend them.

WellTidy · 30/03/2021 04:07

modern that’s great planning. I am eating 16:8 without realising it, as I don’t have breakfast, so the earliest I would have anything is an oat latte at about 10:30ish and we’ve eaten our dinner by 6:30 these days. I don’t have anything after that. I’ve had maybe two drinks in as many months, again without really realising that I’m not having booze.

I fear that when I do go back to eating more ‘normally’ (for me) it will be very easy to gain.

BasilLeaf · 30/03/2021 06:57

Hi again, I’ve been reading through this and the previous thread and Making A Plan Grin

The Syatt Fitness videos were brilliant so thank you to whoever posted them. He talks so much sense. I would really love to be 8st 5 again, it’s been about 4 years since I was but I’ve been pretty consistently between 8st 13 and 9st 4 for all of that time so I think I should be able to get back to my happy weight if I just maintain a bit of discipline. I am shocking for planning a day of healthy meals and then just going nuts and eating loads of crap. The plan is to aim for between 1200 and 1600 a day and slow fat loss. I do a lot of walking and some yoga and I think if I do some basic strength stuff, over a few months this should bring about the changes I want. My waist was always 25-26” - it’s nearly 29” and that’s just not ok!

I really liked the idea of the calorie counting free method of losing fat - not sure if I know how to link a photo on my phone but basically it was: 3 meals, half the plate veg, 1/4 protein 1/4 carbs with 2 snacks a day of fruit veg or protein. That feels like such an easy visual mental check.

Anyway. Sorry for long rambling post! I started this on Saturday and so far it’s going ok. I’ll try and check in here often - you lot are inspiring Flowers

WellTidy · 30/03/2021 11:01

Basil I like that way of thinking of a plate of food too. It isn’t something I do often, as I eat small portions of meals that are my family’s favourites and they can be curries, pasta dishes etc, but it does lend itself to many other family meals too.

I have stuck at 9st 8lb today which I am pleased about. Not enough time now to be 9st 7lb for Easter, but I don’t mind. Walked seven miles this morning before it gets too warm - didn’t think I’d be saying that about a March day! Forecast is for 22 degrees here this afternoon.

skylover · 30/03/2021 11:56

Hello Lovelies, I hope everyone has somesun today Smile

I'm a natural 16:8 person too. I don't snack generally and I'd need an extra meal/snack in the day if I started eating at 8 in the morning!

Hey provincial that's a big loss, I hope it's a good catalyst for you! Funnily enough I used to do those juice cleanses for clients, it's a lot of work & faff and you need a lot of clients to make any money at it! I don't even make juices much for myself anymore but I do love a green one.

I'm here to report that chips & Prosecco is the best thing to have the night before a run! We had something to celebrate last night and this morn, after last nights indulgence (within calorie limit though), I got aPB on my run Grin

Knittingnanny · 30/03/2021 13:25

Sunny here today, off to see grandchildren for an hour ( bubble) then to beach for flask of tea in the car , cake for husband snack a jacks for me
Cheese omelette for tea followed by yog and berries
Put a skinny size 12 springlike dress on today and it’s definitely a bit looser.
I cleared out a box of defunct cameras yesterday and we watched some holiday pictures on the SIM cards via the tv.
In 2011 when I was 54, I am quite a podgy 14 and could definitely see a difference in my shape compared to today. I was menopausal, teaching full time in a really tricky school, trying to cope with adult sons emigrating for marriage/work and visiting elderly parents 200 miles away! Obviously was compensating with food.

nickEcave · 30/03/2021 15:17

9 st 8lbs today, down from 9st 9lbs a week ago, so continuing at around 1lbs a week which is acceptable as my calorie intake is almost always around 100 more than the 1200 a day.MFP tells me I need for weight loss. I'm still doing a LOT of walking 5-10 miles every day. I've just started to see a real physical difference in the past few weeks as I now need to use a belt with my jeans.

dottyaboutstripes · 30/03/2021 16:41

Well I thought if I joined in here that it would spur me on but it doesn't seem to have worked out like that 🤦‍♀️ I seem to have a couple of sensible days followed by bonkers overeating so here I am at 9st11 again, feeling terrible!
I'll keep on lurking and reading, trying to make at least some sensible choices..

Knittingnanny · 30/03/2021 19:25

NickEcave, that’s a lot of walking, it must make a difference to your weight loss journey overall. My exercise tomorrow was stomping around little granddaughters big garden acting out Little Red Riding Hood- many many times. I crocheted a red hooded cape for her, and grandad/ wolf had to hide behind trees and jump out - many many times.
Just had my omelette and fruit, but it obviously wasn’t filling enough as I’m still thinking about what I else I can eat!

WellTidy · 30/03/2021 20:24

nick wow - I thought I was doing well with my walks (I’m happy if I’ve done 20 miles a week) but you’re making a huge effort. I’m sure it’s having a huge impact not just on your weight loss but also your health generally.

I’ve had leftover paella for dinner, but a small portion. I am planning bresaola for one of my meals tomorrow. It’s one of my favourites - rocket, Parmesan, bresaola and lemon juice mixed with extra virgin olive oil poured on top.
