knitting that croched cap sounds gorgeous. I love the sound of it. My mum made me a red cape when I played little red riding hood in an assembly or something like that aged 5 (so 40 years ago). One of the teachers reported to my mum recently that it is still in use, and doubles as a wise man costume in the nativity!

needagirlsnight · 31/03/2021 08:17

Hi everyone, I'm hopeful for another pound off this week. I did start off low carb but I am having some carbs now. Yesterday was a chicken salad for lunch and I really felt like some of the tiger bread we had in the cupboard at dinner time so I had a ham and salad cream with lettuce and tomato sandwich on tiger bread Grin it was amazing and I went to bed full and happy with that. I seem to be averaging around 800-900 calories a day by only having carbs with one meal so I'm happy with that.

This time with the end in sight I am going to make sure I still calorie count to maintain. I simply can't just eat what I want with a tdee of 1400 (bound to go down as I lose more too)

For the future and to maintain I will make sure I'm having carbs once a day and a little treat on a Saturday

Hoping to be at my goal towards the end of May.

Lurkingforawhile · 31/03/2021 09:06

I'm really struggling with hunger at the moment despite having lots of protein - I think it's the two week course of antibiotics I finished last week. Really should have taken more probiotics at the time. Has anyone else had this? I've read a couple of studies and apparently they can interfere with your grehlin levels as well Hmm

Sooverthemill · 31/03/2021 10:00

I'm just trying to stay stable at the moment ( in more ways than one!). Tiredness and worry makes me want to eat so I'm happy if I've just managed to stick to my 3 meals and no snacks. It's my birthday and DDs birthday this weekend so may have a small relax then but as I'm gluten and lactose intolerant it helps not being able to have many cakes!

WellTidy · 31/03/2021 11:12

Still at 9st 8lb this morning (three days running). I’d normally be unhappy with staying the same, given how strict I’m being (daily 6+mile walks and staying under 1000 cals) but because I haven’t been this weight for a couple of years, I’m strangely pleased.

Walked six miles this morning so now sitting in the garden with a Diet Coke. The last day of warmer weather, for now, so I’m making the most of it.

TheProvincialLady · 31/03/2021 17:35

Lurking have you considered having some more fat to see you through your hungry phase? I find cheese and double cream/Greek yoghurt more helpful than protein when I am struggling.

I’ve dropped 1.5lbs over the last couple of days so I’m at 8st 11 which I am pleased about.

I’m impressed with how much exercise some of you manage! I do strength training with a PT twice a week and walk when I can, but my job is very sedentary and I don’t think I could fit much more in. Plus exercise makes me HUNGRY! Does it not make you hungry?

Lurkingforawhile · 31/03/2021 17:44

@TheProvincialLady I've just run out of yoghurt so I'll get some more as I've read before it's good for satiety, and eating more cheese is a very welcome idea!! (I absolutely love cheese). Just been for a short bike ride for the first time this year. I do appreciate the warmer weather.

Some exercise makes me hungry but not all. Swimming makes me ravenous, but my aerobics class which is harder work, and longer, doesn't.

FedNlanders · 31/03/2021 19:13

I'm also at 9st 8. Slow losses now x

Knittingnanny · 31/03/2021 19:50

Hoping to get the bikes out very soon. We explored every possible cycle route variation during the first lockdown but dropped off a bit by late summer. I think our longest circular ride was 15 miles which was good for me !
Only clocked up a short one mile stroll today but kept within my 1000-1200 calorie allowance.
But now I’m watching “ Aldi’s Easter secrets” on channel5 and really need a chocolate egg , preferably large.
Well done for the losses today

WellTidy · 31/03/2021 20:37

Pants. I’ve just had an espresso martini and a champagne chocolate truffle. 300 cals that I would now normally have of an evening. Lovely, but I’m scuppered, I think, and with the chocolate fest that is Easter weekend to come. DS is making chocolate corn flake nests and hot cross buns, which I wouldn’t dream of saying no to (he’s 13). Maybe a reset after Monday is in order! And maybe I should be getting my bike out too!!

BasilLeaf · 01/04/2021 06:47

Lovely to hear everyone’s progress

I’m having a really busy work week, can’t wait for the long weekend!

I’m doing a decent job of staying within a range of 1200-1600 calories, looking at MFP it seems to be like a wave: I’ll have a low day, a high day, a low day again! No weight loss yet, but this is only day 6. I ought to stop weighing every day but it’s a habit.

Have good days everyone

WellTidy · 01/04/2021 06:53

Well, the espresso martini and champagne truffle doesn’t seem to have had an immediate impact as I am 9st 7.5lb this morning. I am amazed and very happy. I cannot believe that I have less than a stone to lose to get to my goal weight, I am over half way there now. Half way in terms of the weight loss, but less that half way as a period of time, as results are slower to see, but still.

A day of errands and work for me, and organising around the house. Nothing at all exciting, and probably won’t manage a walk.

spottygymbag · 01/04/2021 07:40

Hi all, another shortie here wondering if I can join?
I'm 5ft 3 and 3/4 (because the 3/4 makes all the difference!), and I'm coming in at 66.9 - 67.4kg depending on the day so my BMI is just over 25.49 but as others have said being short makes it stand out a lot more.
I've struggled to lose the baby weight (DS has just turned one) with all the covid restrictions and would usually run myself back into the healthy range but I'm also recovering from a knee injury so limited to walking which I find pointless 😂
Loved reading everyone's situation and hoping for some accountability here.
I've plateaued in the 67 range and am really struggling to break through to the next drop.

Knittingnanny · 01/04/2021 13:37

I’ve broken through the big blockade that was 9st2 and am now 9st 1.5 lb!
Has spurred me on to enjoy one hot cross bun not several.
Enjoy your Easter weekend everyone

WellTidy · 01/04/2021 15:59

Well done knitting, it’s great to break a barrier

spotty welcome! Your baby is very young, so you’re doing well to be where you are, all things considered. Good luck.

Knittingnanny · 01/04/2021 16:32

Spotty absolutely what well tidy says.

My newest grandson was born in lockdown and I keep telling his mum she has grown a whole new human being and to try not to worry about getting back in the same clothes as before for ages yet.

2021youpromisedyoudbebetter · 01/04/2021 16:38

Hi everyone, well I thought joining would make me more accountable...I havent been awful but I've hardly been good either. @spottygymbag welcome, I have a 7 month old so know this struggle too well but as @Knittingnanny has said we have just grown whole actual humans so sometimes it's ok to not be quite back where we were. Although think I've used that excuse a bit too freely!

purplegirl13 · 01/04/2021 16:47

Need to catch up on posts but wanted to quickly say well done to @Knittingnanny!

Also a quick check up on @neverenoughchelseaboots are you still on the booze free wagon?- I'm still going strong and plan to hold out until 10th April

neverenoughchelseaboots · 01/04/2021 19:05

Thanks for asking @purplegirl13 yes I am apart from one glass of champagne for a household celebration earlier in the week.

I did very briefly teeter at 8st 10.4lbs on Sunday! Which is a record low for many many years. But work sent a huge hamper of Easter chocolate and so the scales are going in the wrong direction now! It's very generous but I wish they hadn't really. I have no willpower when things are on hand so tend to just never have bad things in.

neverenoughchelseaboots · 01/04/2021 19:06

So you think you'll continue after the 10th April. I've been thinking that I'd quite like to only drink if we have guests or I go out. Neither are very often so I should be fine!

OP posts:
neverenoughchelseaboots · 01/04/2021 19:07

Gah, that was supposed to be 'do you' with a question mark! I must proof read more, especially now I'm not always drunk Grin

spottygymbag · 01/04/2021 21:26

@WellTidy and @Knittingnanny thanks for that. It does help to hear that. Unfortunately I am not one of those that breastfeeding melts the weight off and I have always had to work at keeping my weight in check so I know that the last few kg's won't disappear without some real focus.
I did have a miraculous downhill slip when we thought DS might be have allergies (full body rash at every feed). I had to eliminate dairy, eggs and soy and the weight was just dropping like a stone. But it wasn't sustainable and without a real incentive I struggle with will power.
I'm on 1400cal/day now because any lower impacts my milk production. Have also been doing IF for short periods too when I see things climbing back up.
@neverenoughchelseaboots I'm the same, it's easier to just not have treats and sweets in the house because saying no does not come naturally to me!

Sooverthemill · 02/04/2021 06:02

Just checking in. Had a reasonable week eating wise and my weight is the same. It's my birthday today and in lieu of any other fun I've ordered a fairly restrained 3 course meal delivery from our favourite restaurant. But honestly it's not especially fancy. I nearly succumbed to comfort eating yesterday after a terrible afternoon with DD ( who has a severe chronic illness and is bed bound) and we ended up very upset with each other ( doesn't happen often but sometimes that 41 year age gap really shows). And DH had to work all evening but I knitted instead of snacking. Hopefully today will be better.

To the new mums: yes your body may be different but it does amazing things every single day. Be kind to it and your mind...

WellTidy · 02/04/2021 09:06

Be kind to yourself So. It must be so hard to stay on track mentally, not in relation to weight loss, but generally, with a poorly child. Please don’t be too demanding of yourself.

9st 7.25lb here, and I’ve done an eight mile walk this morning. Bring on the hot cross buns.

Notavegan · 02/04/2021 09:34

Argh I've gone off the rails for Easter holidays. Must get back to it Tuesday. Those of you who have stayed on track bloody well done.
