HELLO & WELCOME! March already and the start of Spring! We’ll all feel better with the onset of warmer weather ☀️.

This thread is for those of us who enjoy healthy eating, exercising and feeling motivated to reach (or maintain) a healthy weight/bmi. The founding members of these threads are inspirational and supportive in equal measure. I’m sure @SunshineCake & @halfshrunkmoretogo won’t mind me using them as Poster Girls.
They have both demonstrated that if we eat right, get outside & move more your mental health will heap the rewards. Better mental health = better choices. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with light weighs.

As no one size fits all members need to follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless this thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

There is no shaming, competition or harsh words to be found on these threads. We are in this together.

Jump right in! If you’re not too shy, post a bit about yourself 😊. How do you plan to do it? What do you want to achieve? What excites you about your future self? Together, we can create a whole new you!

You’ll be glad you got on board this time next month 😊

The fast worked nad I carried the loss plus another 0.25lb - Yay after 3 weeks. I have to be moving forward as it is Lent and when Easter comes I want to ease up a bit and maintain so I need to get close to goal by then. The licorice tea sounds yummy. Must admit I really feel like some veg soup now @Drybird2020
So:
Day 60
SW:151
CW:139.25
GW:132
0.25lb off -
11.75lbs in 60 days

CescaNicole · 05/03/2021 09:06

@fallfallfall Liquorice Spice Tea- sounds delicious!! 😋

Welcome @Bluenightowl, a 3lb loss in 10 days is really good 👏🏻 well done!!

@SunshineCake good willpower with the chocolate!

Day 5 no sugar! Decided I will have a very small treat on Day 7,then that is my plan moving forward - sugar free all week with a small treat on a Sat/Sunday.

Today's menu is:
No Breakfast
L: Beetroot Couscous Salad (with Feta/Mango/Spring Onion 😋)
D: the family are having Beef Burgers... So I will just have the meat and then a big pile of salad!!

I did a 25 min bodyweight workout this morning! Aiming for every other day atm.

SunshineCake · 05/03/2021 16:01

Afternoon everyone. Just catching up and I had forgotten I had said I wouldn't run today as sore as I have just come back from running Grin.

Your soup sounds lovely, @Drybird2020 and a home school lesson to boot so a win all round. I haven't made soup for a while. Last time I went shopping I was hoping for a load of reduced veg to make a large soup but they had nothing but salad. I know how hard it is to not lose for a long time. The numbers might not be going down but you are still winning as you are making good food choices and feeding your better the goodness it needs.

Well done @132orbust almost a stone in two months is stellar Star.

Thank you @CescaNicole and well done on Day 5.

I tried to be good in the week and just have treats on the weekend but then the weekend became Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night and tbh these days I have a treat most days but I don't eat to the level I used to. I also seem to have gone off crisps Shock.

fallfallfall · 05/03/2021 16:22

last night on the news there was a discussion on the topic of nanaimo bars.
the new york times had posted a recipe and photo which was not typical of the original treat. all this on the 6pm national news (you know our country is a bit slow when dessert bars make the news). anyway it made for a tough hour following with both dh and i salivating at the idea.
i quickly ran the ingredients through my mind and knew we could make some and though dh might make a batch of cookies BUT thankfully the urge passed without incident.
i wish my love for treats and crisps would curtail but not yet anyway.
all this to say @SunshineCake, lucky you being off crisps!!

SunshineCake · 05/03/2021 18:30

It is just the thought of them. Like they are greasy and yuk. It is a bit like when I was still learning about what I could safely eat and I would think I wanted some toast but then I would imagine eating it and would almost get tummy ache and feel awful.

So proud I haven't weighed myself since Tuesday and I have run twice since then which would have been at least one step on the scales after my morning run.

DS just offered to share a slice of his home made pizza and I would normally say yes as wouldn't want to reject him or miss out but I told him I am full from dinner. Have a bit of tummy ache so think I made a mistake with having a small piece of apple strudel.

fallfallfall · 05/03/2021 19:43

well done @SunshineCake

CescaNicole · 06/03/2021 10:47

Day 6 I fell off the no sugar wagon. Its because I am baking for a family member and I'm weak haha!!
Never mind. Small binge done.

Off to find that wagon down the road...

Have a good weekend everyone!

Puffalicious · 06/03/2021 11:37

fallfallfall which brand is your liquorice spiced tea? Liquorice tea is my favourite but Twining seem to have phased theirs out and Pukka's is with peppermint (which is still delicious but different). I do have loose Liquorice but I like bags for ease during wfh in the day.

SunshineCake · 06/03/2021 11:53

It's not falling off the wagon @CescaNicole, you are just joining in with all of us having a weekend treat!

132orbust · 06/03/2021 12:15

Weekend treat here last night too so not down but not up either:
Day 61
SW:151
CW:139.25
GW:132
11.75lbs in 61 days
Happy enough with that.

poshme · 06/03/2021 12:21

Bought new scales which initially told me I'd gained half a stone which was depressing!

Restarted them and all back to normal, but I think I'm going to change to using kg.

No loss this week but entirely my fault as face in to wine twice & take away last night!

But still doing much more exercise & drinking lots of water so I'm getting fitter if not thinner!

Epponnee · 06/03/2021 15:10

That’s amazing progress @132orbust!

And well done @CescaNicole for the no sugar streak. I always find it so much harder to resist home baking than store bought treats - something about that smell but I’m sure you’ll be right back on the wagon.

I was up 2 lbs on my weigh in but have been feeling good about sticking to the two meals a day. I will continue for another week in hopes of seeing some results but perhaps be a bit more mindful about carbs in the evening. I don’t want to cut them out and go low carb but I can definitely have smaller portions when I do have them.

B: Greek yogurt with berries and nuts (will be having a smaller snack in place of breakfast on weekends)
L: Thai coconut curry soup
D: chicken with veg and small serving of potatoes

CescaNicole · 06/03/2021 16:05

Good way to look at it @SunshineCake 😊

@epponnee I would bake everyday if I could 😍 but I cannot resist licking the spoon 🤣

A NSV though!! I've just braved trying on my pre pregnancy jeans and they fit!! 🎉 Heck they are even a tiny bit baggy! I haven't fit into this size for 2 years. Super pleased with this 😁

fallfallfall · 06/03/2021 17:13

Smile @CescaNicole

Puffalicious · 06/03/2021 17:16

Way to go with the jeans CescaNicole.

I've just had the most amazing weekend treat- scone with butter and home-made jam with a huge cuppa. Was shamazeballstastic. The BEST thing I've eaten in months. Calories all counted, so I feel saintly.

fallfallfall the link is in dollars. Are you in the US? I'd love to order some but may be prohibitively expensive??

fallfallfall · 06/03/2021 19:12

@Puffalicious i'm in Canada :( which is lovely but yes crazy hard to import and export to and from.
my dd's and her family's christmas gift is still here waiting to be mailed besides the crazy fees there was an import ban from canada to the uk in december and i don't know if it's been lifted.

Puffalicious · 06/03/2021 19:15

Bummer fallfallfall but lovely to have an international flavour to the thread! I shall keep hunting for my bags!

Faith50 · 06/03/2021 19:58

Can I join?

Height - 5ft 8
CW - 10st 12lb
GW - 10st

I drank two litres of water today and walked 4.5 miles. I skip breakfast and go straight to lunch as I do the 16:8. Eating in an eight hour window makes a huge difference. I am a snacker so do not eat carbs with evening meal to allow for a few treats in the evening. I am happy for my weight to reduce at a slow rate.

CescaNicole · 06/03/2021 22:04

Thanks everyone 😊

Welcome @Faith50!

SunshineCake · 06/03/2021 22:13

Well done for too big jeans, deliciously enjoyed scone and jam, extra water and exercise and all the other wins. Welcome to the newbies.

Just found out someone I used to work for has died so I'm not feeling so chatty. Apologies.

Just don't know what to say really but wanted to feel the support of my group. Hope that's okay.

Avocadorable · 06/03/2021 22:20

I’m Sorry about your friend sunshine x hugs
