Welcome to the 'lose 7lbs per month' thread. Our usual host @cricketmum29 is having a little rest for Feb but we can follow her good example and continue to give each other support and inspiration and I'm sure she'll drop in when she's feeling well. Flowers

All are welcome to join, there's a really good mix of diets and methods and everyone is really helpful.

Previous thread is here: Jan lose 7lbs thread

I started last year and I'm so grateful to all the support and kindness throughout the months Flowers Jan was about maintaining for me but finger's crossed February will be about losing again.

Morning everyone! Please can I join you! I have two stone of baby weight to lose before my wedding in the summer! Blush I started a couple of weeks back at 11 stone bang on, and I'm down to 10 stone 9. It's slow going! My target weight is about 8stone 10.
I'm just using one of the calorie apps, and I'm sticking to 1400 calories a day max. My weight fluctuates alot due to water, just noticed I've gained two pounds around ovulation, it's just come off again this morning, but I'm sure it'll go up again before my period is due. So, for that reason I've been using a tape measure to track inches lost as not finding scales weight as reliable.Smile

Onesmallstep67 · 19/02/2021 09:31

No movement on the scales. Hoping still to hit target of 7lbs by the end of the month. Just needs a concerted effort over the next week+.
I have been considering a treadmill. I think if it was in the house I would get to do more steps. I don't actually enjoy some of the walks that I do. There are parks but because we are in the outskirts of a city they just get so clogged up. And between adults on bikes, kids, dogs and assorted others it can be a bit hazardous. Plus I have become a bit too used to staying in and have begun to prefer it. Lockdown related. I'm sure once we have more freedom I will want to be out again.

Foresttheout · 19/02/2021 10:48

Back down to 72.4 this morning still means only 0.6kg lost so far this month after the gain last week so hoping I can try and at least get down to 71.5 by the end of the month. It is so so slow but trying to remind myself that my current BMI is healthy and the less I have to loose the slower it will come off.
I also have a DP who someone diets for a week and looses his whole belly which is very annoying but slow and steady will win in the end right.

NerrSnerr · 19/02/2021 11:47

I all. I'm still 11st 13 which is still a 2lb loss for Feb but I haven't been eating brilliantly. I'm trying to do better though. I didn't go over my calories yesterday and did a 50 minute yoga video (and a long, slow and very muddy walk with the children).

Today I have a cheesy lentil bake in the oven and I'm about to go out with my eldest as she wants to go out on her bike. My youngest is at preschool which makes it much easier not having a grumpy 3 year old with us! I'll do more yoga later. We will get a takeaway and have a few drinks some point this weekend but will try to be extra good all other times.

EasterIssland · 19/02/2021 12:26

my scales are going up a bit this week :( I'm quite upset as doing workouts as never ... feel a loser this week :(

Foresttheout · 19/02/2021 13:19

If you're doing way more exercise than you have before it could be that you're loosing fat but replacing it with muscle @EasterIssland

Tash6000 · 20/02/2021 08:54

Had another 1lb loss at weigh in yesterday so that's 4lb in just over 2 weeks. Slow going but going down! Back in the 10stn bracket now. Next goal in 10.7st and then I'll take it from there

TheStirrer · 20/02/2021 10:16

Well a marginally better week for me as I have lost a 1lb bringing me to a measly 2.5lbs this month. Still it is better than going up or staying the same! Now 13s 7.5lbs from my original 21st 11.5lbs 2 years ago and need to get to 12st 12 to not be obese which is my target before my big 50 in May so eminently doable. 🤞

I am just finding that I am struggling a bit at the moment and seem to be bingeing if I start eating anything remotely naughty.... it pretty obvious that I just need to not eat anything naughty but is difficult when I love hot cross buns and Easter eggs Blush.

@EasterIssland - I imagine that you’ll get an extra big loss at some point just keep up the good work. Perhaps have a measure to see if you have shrunk?

On a positive note I am getting my Covid jab on Monday as I am a type 2 diabetic which is a bit of a relief!

Well done to everyone for keeping going as that’s the hard part - it’s easy to just give up when you gave a bad day or the scales haven’t moved in the right direction

Onesmallstep67 · 20/02/2021 12:07

Having a pretty good few days. At my lowest February weight so far, nearly 6lbs off. Hoping to hit target by next weekend, then tackle the next 7lbs in March. I haven't had a period for a couple of months and not feeling particularly like I will - although I went several months without one last year then they restarted ! At 53 I am hoping this could be the proper start of being menopausal. Hot flushes are off the scale. Another thing to add to post lockdown consultation with my GP.
I know everyone approaches weight loss in a different way but for me cutting down and cutting out when I can has worked best but nothing is off limits. Anything more restrictive is just too much for me. And not sustainable.
Have a great weekend losers !

Smarshian · 20/02/2021 12:49

Weighed in this morning at my lowest weight for a good while. 10st 9lb, which is 5lb off this month and 7lb altogether. Feeling very pleased. Had a salad for lunch and just yogurt and berries for breakfast as I have plans to get a kebab tonight. Will try to make it as healthy as poss though - chicken and no mayo

GetTheStartyParted · 20/02/2021 16:07

@Smarshian DH had the same though so I have a lovely spicy chilli bubbling away on the hob, thank you. Will serve with cauliflower rice and cheese on top.

I had a carbzone wrap as a quesadilla last night, it was delicious. I haven't eaten yet today, I just don't have an appetite.

It's TOTM again and I could cry, sorry if it's TMI. I was on for 18 days, finished 8 days ago and now it's back. This pill had better settle things down soon. I hadn't lost anything this week, when I weighed yesterday but I have stuck to my diet and calories all week so hopefully its hormonal like my attitude yesterday

Hope you're all having a nice weekend.

EasterIssland · 20/02/2021 16:19

well done everyone! glad to see the effort is working!

I'm Still yo-yoing... my scale says I'm 84.5 , 84.6 84.9 ... I was 84.4 last week so not happy really... did some body combat this morning so hope I did some of it

Foresttheout · 21/02/2021 05:31

Back down to 72kg so 1kg in total and 16:8 definitely working. Much easier now I'm back in the swing of it also.
Still not calorie counting but reducing portions and trying to reduce carbs a little I.e if I have one very carby meal I try to leave them out of the second and fill my plate with protein and veg. Or have two smaller portions of carbs.
I've also not eaten and chocolate, sweets or puddings Monday-Friday which I'm going to try and stick to. I absolutely love sweet things and can easily put away two family size chocolate bars and a bag of sweets without even thinking. So last week I didn't buy any, plan is to only allow myself to bake pudding once a week and a chocolatey treat at the weekend but not to buy extra for weekdays

Howmanysleepsnow · 21/02/2021 07:37

9st10lb today so 6lb loss so far in February. Plan is salad for lunch and chicken/ celeriac parmentier (delayed from 2 days ago as Tesco didn’t have celeriac!) finally tonight.

Onesmallstep67 · 21/02/2021 13:24

@GetTheStartyParted, your cycle sounds horrible. You poor thing. I'm not sure what age you are or if you have looked into it but I would definitely get some medical advice with that.
Feeling pretty positive. Have only just eaten today so if I eat again later I will manage a 16:8 day or probably 18:6 without much effort. Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

GetTheStartyParted · 21/02/2021 14:58

Thanks @Onesmallstep67 I'm 35.
I have endometriosis and have been having heavier periods over the last couple of years. I finally went to see the nurse practitioner, who suggested I take the pill to try and help but its sent things haywire. This is my second month of taking it so I'm hoping it settles down soon!

Well done on the 16:8 or 18:6, it makes it much easier to keep the calories lower then doesn't it!

Howmanysleepsnow · 21/02/2021 19:48

@GetTheStartyParted I just made the chicken/ mushroom sauce/ celeriac parmentier and it was amazing! Thank you for sharing.

GetTheStartyParted · 21/02/2021 21:15

So glad you enjoyed it too Smile We had roast chicken with broccoli, roasted celariac and keto yorkshire pudding for dinner. DS loves keto yorkshire puddings!

GetTheStartyParted · 22/02/2021 09:19

Morning, its weigh in day for me.

I have only lost half a measly pound this week, despite sticking to keto and under 1400 calories a day. Saturday and Sunday were OMAD with Saturday coming in at under 500 calories! At this rate I'll have to quit eating to lose weight Wink Stupid hormones... I'll continue to blame them and hope the weight comes off next week.

Hope you've all had a better week!

Howmanysleepsnow · 22/02/2021 10:21

@GetTheStartyParted it will definitely be the hormones! I never lose anything that week, then 3-4lb the week after. You’ve done well to lose that half pound!

Howmanysleepsnow · 22/02/2021 10:22

I’m 9st9lb today so 7lb down this month... 3lb to go!

EasterIssland · 22/02/2021 11:21

I've put 0.5lb this week and I'm quite down (quite a few times affecting me) so hoping I don't screw it this week.
Well done to everyone !

Stilltalkstotrees · 22/02/2021 12:28
