JessJonesJumps · 01/02/2021 15:32

Welcome to the 'lose 7lbs per month' thread. Our usual host @cricketmum29 is having a little rest for Feb but we can follow her good example and continue to give each other support and inspiration and I'm sure she'll drop in when she's feeling well. Flowers

All are welcome to join, there's a really good mix of diets and methods and everyone is really helpful.

Previous thread is here: Jan lose 7lbs thread

I started last year and I'm so grateful to all the support and kindness throughout the months Flowers Jan was about maintaining for me but finger's crossed February will be about losing again.

Morning all. My youngest decided not to sleep last night so was up at 4am eating everything in sight. Will do my best to have a better day but I'm very tired.

Ah I eat tons when tired too! It’s so much harder!

I’m a bit late, but would like to join please 🙂

SW 01/01/21 - 12st 10.2lb
01/02/21 - 12st 4.2lb
CW 12st 0.6lb
GW 9st 8lb

Just following good old calorie counting and logging everything on Nutracheck app. Currently around 1000 - 1200cals a day.

I’m 54 and menopausal and have really struggled to lose weight in my 50’s. I needed to see a good drop to boost me on, which has happened, thankfully. As I get lighter I will move more too, although I did do 10,000 steps today

JessJonesJumps · 10/02/2021 18:48

@cricketmum84 I hope you've managed to have a chat with your GP about your results. It might be worth starting a thread on diabetes if you are diagnosed as there are sure to be lots of knowledgeable MNers. (maybe use a different name after how badly the other thread went when you were ill) Flowers

I'm so impressed by some of the losses already this month! I've only lost 1lbs but I've been snowed under with work and struggling to fit exercise in. Hopefully by the end of the week, I'll have a little more time and manage to step away from my computer.

Up 2lb tonight after eating half a pizza last night instead of the planned dinner. Back at it today, but really frustrated at myself for letting DH talk me into it and wasting my hard work!

7catsandcounting · 11/02/2021 06:56

2.3 kilos lost so far this month. Wish it would go quicker.

I'm doing keto. I don't feel hungry, but there's no joy. I'm eating the same thing every day.

Flapjak · 11/02/2021 07:06

SW jan 12st
CW 11.7
GW 9.7 ish
Not doing any exercise at moment, lowering carbs , no breakfast, light lunch , and dinner undr 500

Foresttheout · 11/02/2021 08:03

Morning all, I'm terrible for eating the whole house when tired @nerrsnerr hope you got a good night last night.
I haven't weighed again as trying to weight each week so I don't get put off by daily fluctuations. I've been pretty good at 16:8 but not so good at what I eat during the 8 hours.
Sadly bad news on the injury front and going to be at least another month before I can even think about running or high impact cardio again. I'm considering buying a bike. I am allowed gentle walks again at least so I can escape the house Instead of snacking when the late afternoon hunger strikes

Smarshian · 11/02/2021 08:10

@Howmanysleepsnow the half pizza weight gain should hopefully come off over the next couple of days. Remember a pound of fat is 3500 calories, so some of the gain will hopefully just be water weight from the salts etc/ daily fluctuations. Keep on - you will see the gains.
I have managed to get down to 10st 11lb today which is 3lb down this month and 5lb altogether.
I’m hoping to be 10st7lb by the end of the month. Plan for today is low carbing and I have a PT session this evening. I have takeout planned tomorrow night (steak) so going to try to keep the calories lower today and Saturday to counterbalance it.

Howmanysleepsnow · 11/02/2021 09:01

Well, I’m 9st 12lb today (so 1/4 of a pizza down, 1/4 to go...) @Smarshian I have a restaurant takeout planned for tomorrow (scallops and lobster!) too so need a really healthy day today first. I’m low carbing too, but my exercise is limited to walking Blush as I struggle to make time for exercise unless accompanied by the dog/dc.

Onesmallstep67 · 11/02/2021 09:10

Lots of positivity on the thread, great effort and some good losses. I am back down by more than a lb from yesterday. It's bright but very cold here. I'm going to muster up the motivation to get out of the house today. So easy to get used to being in all of the time. Nearly the weekend so going to be extra good today so I can have a couple of treats.

GetTheStartyParted · 11/02/2021 11:10

@7catsandcounting I'm doing keto and love most of the food I eat. If you're lacking inspiration, I recommend following keto accounts on Instagram. I get so many ideas from there. And also, the Keto Kitchen recipe book is so good.

Finished work for 11 days now, woohoo! Making keto bbq chicken pizza for dinner to celebrate. DH cooked last night, made a nice change. Gammon, egg and celariac chips.

cricketmum84 · 11/02/2021 11:33

Sorry guys I still haven't weighed... I can't balance on the scales at the moment so I have a decent excuse...! I'm eating much better though, very reduced cards and filling up on protein. Plan and avocado salads at lunch, small amount of cheese or a hard boiled egg or greek yoghurt as a snack, dinners are also high protein, no pasta, rice or bread.

DH went and picked up a wheelchair for me this morning. Am torn between feeling horrified and sad when I look at it but also looking forward to a little wheel to the shop and back at lunchtime as I can't remember the last time I got some fresh air.

@GetTheStartyParted I'm following all your meal ideas for inspiration!

Some really really good losses coming through on here this month! You are all doing so well!!

@JessJonesJumps had a really good chat with the GP, he's so lovely. Went through all bloods, just waiting on the second glucose test before I'm referred to the diabetic nurse. He's also done an urgent referral to neurology so they can find out what the hell is going on with my legs and feet.

GetTheStartyParted · 11/02/2021 11:56

Thanks @cricketmum84 It really helps me to stay on track and try new ideas.

It sounds like you're eating better. I'm glad to hear your GP is good and I hope your referral is quick.

NerrSnerr · 11/02/2021 12:22

Thank you @Foresttheout and @AIMD. I ate everything in sight yesterday but I'm back on it today. Have made a crustless quiche for tea and am just cooking wholemeal pasta for lunch. The children slept much better (although I still had a 4 year old in my bed at some point!)

Glad you're able to eat better @cricketmum84. Hope you get to go out soon and your mobility improves. Must be such a stressful time.

We are just finishing home schooling and then we'll go out somewhere. I'm hoping to go for a walk but the children may outvote me and choose the park. Whatever we do it'll be nice to get fresh air.

Pandapop101 · 11/02/2021 23:22

Hello all!
Just came across this thread, reading through you are all doing so well, please can I join for some motivation!
SW Aug 2020 12 st 4 lb
CW 10 st 13lb
GW errr I’m not really sure I’m more judging on how I feel but I was aiming for 10st

I put some on over Christmas and I’m really trying to focus on building good habits, like most I have a real problem with my tummy and really need to improve my water intake!
I’m not really following any plan I’m trying to focus on what I’m putting into my body!

Tash6000 · 12/02/2021 07:26

Only 1lb down for me this week. Bit disappointed as I've been walking a minimum of 4 miles a day and calorie counting. Hoping my body is just in shock and it will start coming off soon 🤞

shreddergodo · 12/02/2021 07:59

@Foresttheout I feel your pain. Now that the city is cover in snow and ice, my knee can’t cope. I hurt it again slipping carrying my son... I didn’t leave the house yesterday . I do think that’s slowly my losses down.
Weighed at 10 stone 3 today

shreddergodo · 12/02/2021 08:14

@Tash6000 I was disappointed this week too, only a pound down since the weekend...
Trying to focus on positives like how I feel and how I look which has def changed

peanutbutterdog · 12/02/2021 11:50

Down 2lb this week to 11st 4lb - 1lb more to have lost 5st in total so aiming for that for next week. Could be tricky with Pancake Tuesday though!

Cricketmum84 hope you start feeling better soon.
Well done to everyone losing.

Onesmallstep67 · 12/02/2021 14:09

Pretty much 2kg down now for the month so far. I have a long way to go but I am happy that I seem to have my head mostly back in the right place for this. I want to be a further stone down by Easter which I think is 7 weeks away so going to make a concerted effort. And by then, let's hope that life in general is feeling a bit less difficult. Happy Friday everyone.

Windowboxer · 12/02/2021 18:35

I'm down 2lbs this week. So hard to not fall into temptation and do a crash diet to see quicker results. But as I've got four stone to lose that's not a good idea.

@peanutbutterdog 5 stone - that's amazing. How did you keep your motivation the whole time?

peanutbutterdog · 12/02/2021 21:20

Hi Windowboxer, my motivation has simply been not wanting to stay big all my life. I'm almost 50 and have been obese all my adult life. I know the time to change is now, or never. It's hard not wanting to stuff my face sometimes but what keeps me on track for now is thinking I don't want to get back to that size again with all its implications. I hope it lasts!

The comradery on this thread has also been really helpful over the last year and knowing others are in the same boat. Stick with it, sometimes it goes to plan, sometimes it doesn't but just keep going.

Onesmallstep67 · 13/02/2021 13:13

Sticking around the 2kg loss at the moment. Weekends always seem a bit trickier but trying to eat sensibly with meals and keep a bit of leeway with calories for a couple of drinks. Still very cold in the Midlands but feeling a little more like spring is on the way.

shreddergodo · 13/02/2021 14:12

Scared to weigh in as usual, will do tomorrow morning or Monday, depending on the day I have today and tomorrow. Went a little off the wagon last night and ate WAY over my calorie limit, but nothing too terrible. But with no exercise everything seems worse. Praying for warmer weather tomorrow so I can get out and about with the dog/DC again and more my body.
