Welcome to the 'lose 7lbs per month' thread. Our usual host @cricketmum29 is having a little rest for Feb but we can follow her good example and continue to give each other support and inspiration and I'm sure she'll drop in when she's feeling well. Flowers

All are welcome to join, there's a really good mix of diets and methods and everyone is really helpful.

Previous thread is here: Jan lose 7lbs thread

I started last year and I'm so grateful to all the support and kindness throughout the months Flowers Jan was about maintaining for me but finger's crossed February will be about losing again.

Hello! It's great to see so many of you!
I'm also feeling a little bit better that I wasn't the only one who struggled over Nov/Dec/Jan. Blush
@shreddergodo posters weigh at different times. I try to weigh every day just to remind myself that I'm being conscious of what I'm eating. But if I find it affecting my mood or making me grumpy, then I stop. We all usually check-in with weigh-ins about once per week but since posters started their own weight-loss journey on different days, they use different weigh-in days. Basically there are no hard and fast rules. Just do what feels right for you Grin

My scales are being very temperamental so no idea what I weigh today. I'm going to do a quick 30mins yoga when DS has a live lesson later. And I'm going to fill my water bottle and try to get back into the habit of drinking it. Baby steps to ease back in ...

Morning! I feel like I’ve got off to a good start today. 2 boiled eggs and coffee for breakfast, a litre of water down and about to have a bowl of lentil and chickpea soup for lunch. Did a half an hour of yoga first thing and planning on a 5k run later too.

All logged on MFP and proving to be a welcome distraction to the current situation!

NerrSnerr · 02/02/2021 15:09

Feeling better to be back on the wagon this morning. Has yoghurt and berries for breakfast, eggs on toast for lunch and have a butternut squash and spinach curry in the slow cooker. Feeling bloated so drinking peppermint tea.

If I stick to the diet this time I may actually be where I want to be by the time I go on holiday in July- only to Butlins but it's nice to feel good about yourself on holiday! I have about 3 stone to lose so really going to try my best. I will get into those old jeans again!!

Onesmallstep67 · 02/02/2021 15:26

Hi. Another returner here. Lost 4 stones in 2019 but as soon as lockdown hit I fell off the wagon to the point where pretty much 2 of those stones have been regained in the last year. I now have clothes that don't fit me anymore and that's both sad and frustrating.
I have had my go to breakfast of poached eggs on toast and just had soup for a late lunch. Actually restarted yesterday and have managed a couple of walks too. If nothing else I would like to get back to where I was.
Lots of love to you @cricketmum84, it sounds like you have been having a worrying and uncomfortable time. I'm rooting for you to be able to get some answers and whatever course of treatment is needed. Flowers

JessJonesJumps · 02/02/2021 16:00

It's great that everyone seems so motivated - go, us! And Star for everyone for showing up and posting.

It's snowing here so no walks or runs for us later but I'm going to do a boxercise workout instead. if I can manage to drag DS off the punchbag and weights

I'm loathe to check my measurements. I really don't want to have to put larger measurements on my chart. I'm going to wait until I think I might have got back to where I was. I think that's called denial Blush

Hi all, Thanks for making the thread @JessJonesJumps and congrats on all the losses everyone, weighed myself this morning and down to exactly 73kg so thats 2kg lost in January and i'm back to where I was in November. Pretty pleased as I am still unable to do any impact exercise and I was doing a lot so was fully expecting a gain.
Plan for Feb is to keep trying to stick to 16:8 at least 4 days a week as this seems to work for me. Continue with reduced portions and hopefully loose another 2kg. Goal weight is 65kg
I gave up on calorie counting again last month as it just really doesn't work for me, instead of helping me eat less I find myself obsessed with food and calories and constantly thinking about what I'm going to eat next etc. which results in me feeling hungry constantly.

Onesmallstep67 · 03/02/2021 08:27

First lb gone and the first couple of days done- I always find getting back on it the difficult bit. Usually I am okay through the day and have learnt what foods and meals work for me. As ever my challenging times are in the evening where I am either still a bit hungry or wanting ' something ' even when I am not hungry. Last night I did 10k on the exercise bike and that took my mind off it. Possibly like many of us food is not just nourishment or fuel for me.
Have a good day everyone.

cricketmum84 · 03/02/2021 08:48

Morning all :) down to 14.11 this morning so first lb gone for this month. I seriously need to buy new clothes! I have no jeans that fit at all and probs 2 dresses! Might browse some sales this morning and see what's out there.

Loving seeing the losses coming through :)

Back to GP again today.

Howmanysleepsnow · 03/02/2021 08:48

1lb more gone today (it seems to be going as quickly as it came this time, thankfully!)
Weighing in daily definitely helps me.

Smarshian · 03/02/2021 09:05

Morning all. I signed in to the January 7lb but lost my way.
Am signing up again for Feb and already down 2lb from Monday 😇. Just need to keep up consistency.

JessJonesJumps · 03/02/2021 10:38

Great losses already!

I've somehow managed to put on 1lb Hmm but am hoping it's a blip or TOTM. My sleep has been rubbish this week and I always find it impacts too. Lower carbs and an early night for me.

@cricketmum84 I hope you get some positive answers from the GP and happy clothes shopping! Flowers

@Deepintheforest Excellent work! Have you hurt yourself too? I'm really hurt my knee at work (I'm a nurse, was lifting a patient and slipped) and I was also doing a lot of exercise before it happened (running and some weight lifting, before gyms closed again). I know what you mean about calorie counting, I feel like it didn't work for me and I would end up eating all my calories in the morning and lunch and then not having any left.

@Onesmallstep67 Well done on your loss. I know what you mean about 'wanting something' in the evening and also, as soon as I cut down on food I realise how I use it as a crutch/way to escape. it's terrible, how many times I'm numbed myself with chocolate. it's very apparent

@cricketmum84 @Howmanysleepsnow Well done on your pound loss- it's motivating group to be in!!!

Day 2 - 66.1kg - so already 2lbs loss?? Must be water weight, really trying to ensure that I eat at least 60g protein so I don't lose muscle! Anyone else doing the FAST800? I'm following it with loose calorie counting as I just can't see myself constantly logging calories and I feel like it would make me stop doing it, so I'm just ensuring protein levels and cutting carbs down.

NerrSnerr · 03/02/2021 11:02

Hi all. I didn't weigh this morning but will tomorrow. I am home with the children today (I work 3 days a week) but luckily they do 'wellbeing Wednesdays' without any live lessons so we've come out to the skate park for a couple of hours. I will do a couple of workouts later (I'm loving Davina toned in 10 and will do a yoga workout).

Diet wise I am counting calories and reducing carbs a bit but I can't quite face going full keto!

Howmanysleepsnow · 03/02/2021 22:49

@shreddergodo I’m loosely following fast800 too. DH is doing it properly so it’s easier for me to join in than cook 4 separate meals (4 growing dc including 2 teenagers, Vegetarian DD, DH on fast800... and me trying to feed everyone!)
I am calorie counting religiously and walking off around 500 of my 750-1050 calorie intake but am less strict on carbs than I should be (probably have some sugar every few days Blush)

AIMD · 03/02/2021 23:16

Can I joint please?
CW is 10s 4
GW is 9s 7
Goal for end of feb is 10s

I’ve been doing lots of walking, short periods of exercise and am now trying to track my calories.

Can I ask what everyone else’s aim for calories is for people tracking calories?

I’ve been doing cold water therapy since Xmas and have found that helped me stick to doing exercise. So continuing with that.

NerrSnerr · 04/02/2021 08:14

Morning all. I am 2lbs down so far so happy with that. My children didn't sleep very well last night so very tired. We have a day of home schooling- I'll take the children out for a walk later and then do a little bit of exercise too. Need to keep away from the biscuit tin today.

Howmanysleepsnow · 04/02/2021 08:44

Morning all. Another 1lb off. Obviously 2 of this months lbs are the two I put on on 31st January so more of a blip than a weight loss, but I’m still counting them for motivation purposes! Plus I fully expect a 10-14 day plateau any day now: my body seems to cling on to weight then shed 4-5lb in a couple of days.
CW 9st 12lb.

Onesmallstep67 · 04/02/2021 09:16

Morning. Pleased to say that I have managed 3 days without any blips and now 2 lbs down since Monday. I know (hope) that I can lose the weight as I have done it before. Maintaining was the difficult thing. For me it's trying to retrain my brain after 53 years ! And being menopausal also seems to make it all so much more challenging. I gain weight very quickly and easily it seems.
Lots of positivity on the thread though so that is great and the support on here has always been wonderful.

Ecci · 04/02/2021 14:34

Hi all, checking in a bit late due to router problems, so no internet. Nightmare!
January wasn’t great for me, but I managed to lose 1.6lbs. Most of that was what I’d put on over Christmas so as I said, not great. From 1st Nov to 1st Feb I’ve lost a grand total of 4lbs (must try harder) but I’ve decided to regard it as practice for when I’m maintaining.
So new month and new start. Here’s my stats:
SW 15st 12.4lbs
CW (1st Feb) 11st 6.4 lbs
Total lost 4 st 6lbs
Target for Feb get closer to 11 st. Hoping for 11st 2lbs but we’ll see

Nice to see so many losers reporting great losses so far.
@Cricketmum84 I hope you are feeling better. Fingers crossed that you get a diagnosis and correct treatment soon, it’s such a worry when you don’t know what it is.

cricketmum84 · 04/02/2021 16:26

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Quick update on me (I haven't weighed)

Still unable to walk and it's definitely getting worse. Had another call with the GP yesterday. He sent an ambulance for me. Paramedics finally came at 9pm and checked me over. They advised against a&e though as they didn't think it warranted urgent treatment. They also were raging at the GP for refusing me a home visit even though I had told him I couldn't walk unaided. I had very high blood sugar though which is worrying.

Different GP has been out to me this morning and taken all my bloods plus very in depth exam and nerve tests. Should have some results in the next few days but at the moment it's looking like diabetes that has caused nerve damage to high (sigh) could be permanent.

Trying not to freak too much while I wait on results.

GetTheStartyParted · 04/02/2021 16:36

@cricketmum84 sorry to hear that but definitely wait for results. Sending love your way! Flowers

Hectic week here, I'm so tired at the moment. I spend Monday to Friday working and studying, then crash at the weekends. I think my endo causes fatigue to be honest. I spoke to my boss today about sticking to only 3 mornings a week at work as she has a tendency to sneak extra shifts on the rota and with studying full time I just can't cope! At least I can food shop and meal plan from the comfort of the sofa at the weekends so I am sticking to my diet.

No real exercise still but I have taken the dogs for longer walks and averaged around 15,000 steps each day.

@Onesmallstep67 I have a while to go but maintaining really worries me. I've always lost a couple of stone then when I stop dieting I pile on even more. This time I have lost more a I am determined to get to my target weight. What are you doing to try and maintain?

shreddergodo · 04/02/2021 21:22

@cricketmum84 Sounds really scary and stressful, fingers crossed for bloods results and that you can get some rest tonight Flowers

Windowboxer · 05/02/2021 00:42

A bit late to the party but can I please join in too.

Turning 30 soon and getting married next year (hopefully!) Stepped on the scales on Monday for the first time in years and was so shocked. Want to start a proper exercise habit and learn to enjoy food and drink in moderation, rather than my very fun and carefree twenties. So aiming for slow but sustainable weight loss - but such a long way to go!

SW: 13 st 3
Feb GW: 12 st 12
GW: 9 stone

NerrSnerr · 05/02/2021 07:53

I really hope you get some answers soon @cricketmum84. Sounds really rough.

I'm still plodding on today. Managed a Davina workout and a fairly long (and muddy) walk with the children. I found a bag of clothes I had to buy last summer as I didn't have summer clothes big enough. I am going to put them in the clothing bank today- they'd still probably fit but I'm determined they won't when it gets warm. My ultimate goal for summer are my old size 10 shorts but I have bid on some size 12 in case we have some sun in April/ May as I won't be in the 10s by then. I need some major clothing motivation!
