Frolicking through February

Octopus37 · 01/02/2021 08:19

Think I might have used a similar title last year, but here goes. Hopefully we might move towards frolicking cause things have got to improve in February right.

Weighed in at 9st4 this morning. A couple of pounds off this month would be great, but I'm mainly working on my motivation and trying to increase my energy levels.

Thanks and well down overweight. I'm a bit heavier than you and yes when I look at how much I want to lose in total it is overwhelming!

My first goal is to get back to where I was before massively falling off the wagon over December and January.

If I could keep up losing at this rate it would take 5 months to be in the healthy weight range.

I just wish gyms weren't so late in the reopening plans. Mine was so safe.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 25/02/2021 09:00

Thank you Nutella! Massive well done Honeybadger!! Delighted for you Smile Good going overweight! Lovely day here today so I know I'll go get my 12k minimum steps later. Feeling good! Allen Carr book going well so I'm hopeful that the junk is on the way out again.
B: porridge and banana
L: veg chilli w brown rice, sour cream and cheese
D: ratatouille
Have a good day all!

TheHoneyBadger · 25/02/2021 09:40

You've inspired me to order his weight loss book for women HeyGirl.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 25/02/2021 10:20

Oh brill Honeybadger, I'll be interested to see what you think. The likening of the sugar compulsion with drug addiction is really true for me unfortunately Sad but I do find the book excellent.

Hangoverstruggles · 25/02/2021 19:21

Amazing losses Badger and OW! Well done to you both.

OW sounds like you have a really sensible set of goals. You'll get there.

Thanks for the pan link *Nutella.

Honey Badger* is the stepper any good? Worth £40? Im tempted as it's small so can use it in front of tv!

I'm a bit hungry but trying to stay strong....

B Greek yog & berries, coffee 250
L soup, sushi pack 300
D smoked haddock spaghetti (sauce is lemon and low fat cream cheese) 500
S rice cake & pb, half Lidl bakery cookie (which is 186 just for half!!! 🙄), tea

Coming in just under 1400, but more than planned thanks to the bastard cookie.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 25/02/2021 20:51

Ah that's still good going hangover whatever way you look at it! I have seen someone on twitter highly rate the IKEA sensuel pots, worth a look.

Good day here, decent breakfast and two hot meals, that's my aim. 13k steps. I know we've said it repeatedly but ON Tuesday I didn't move because of storm outside, steps were 2500 Shock Imagine, that was probably regular enough 14-18m ago.. Shocking really. Meanwhile gorging regularly. I am a week tomorrow since ate junk in large amounts. I've had two homemade rocky roads and 2 homemade buns since then. I'm very pleased with that. Must walk to shop now for berries and low fat milk for the morning coffee Brew Night night all!

TheHoneyBadger · 25/02/2021 21:14

Long long long time doing online parent's evening. Draining but lovely too.

Tried to keep my steps up today but lots of prepping at a laptop pouring over data and making notes and then three hours solid stuck at laptop in video calls so?

Trying to motivate myself to take the dog out for a good stomp now but it could go either way.

Hangover - yes - like most things it relies on you actually doing it but it is small and portable and has good strong resistance so it does feel like 'working' at it rather than nonsense. I think at the price is a solid purchase for adding a bit more calorie burn to your day without needing loads of space to accommodate it.

D smoked haddock spaghetti (sauce is lemon and low fat cream cheese) < that sounds lovely!

Hangoverstruggles · 25/02/2021 22:10

Well done getting through it Honeybadger.

The smoked haddock spaghetti is a recipe I pinched from Gousto. So easy.... Cook spaghetti. Meanwhile, in a large frying pan cook diced smoked haddock with some garlic for a few mins. Add half a tub of low fat cream cheese, a spoon or two of the pasta water, zest & juice of half lemon, and a had big handful of spinach. Give it a good mix and season. Fold in the cooked pasta and serve with chopped chives and lots of black pepper.

Hey Sounds like your approach is working really well! Good effort on the steps!

NutellaEllaElla · 26/02/2021 07:07

Morning everyone. The last two days have been boredom eating biscuit central for me. My state of mind is a little bit already in fuck it it's my birthday mode. Next week will be better.

Water water water.

Hangoverstruggles · 26/02/2021 07:38

When's your birthday Nutella? Any nice meals planned?

Octopus37 · 26/02/2021 07:58

@Hangoverstruggles I might have to give that spaghetti dish a go, it sounds lush. 9st4.25 today. Never seem to manage to get back in the zone properly, one of these days. I'm aiming to do better with my steps today

Morning all. Well a week on from feeling really fed up, I'm a pound and a quarter down. Happy with a downward move and trying not to think how much I've moved, how well I've eaten compared to previous week and that I was probably secretly hoping for less. But for now I'm not going to calorie count, after a year I have a good idea of portion size, I'm still weighing food say and will keep up water, steps and Allen Carr! Here's to next Fri! Have a lovely weekend all.

NutellaEllaElla · 26/02/2021 09:03

My birthday is tomorrow and yes, i have lots of lovely food planned Grin

Well done @HeyGirlHeyBoy, it's all steps in the right direction!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 26/02/2021 09:57

Thank you Nutella Smile and Happy Birthday! Cake

Off to the beach shortly.

NutellaEllaElla · 26/02/2021 13:10

What's that one thing you just can't moderate? I haven't bought Jaffa Cakes in a long time because it's absolutely impossible to have just one and to be honest, I really doubt i'd be able to stop before the whole box is gone by the end of the day.

On the other hand, I am really satisfied by tiny pieces of strong blue cheese. It's such an intense flavour hit that I can't eat much.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 26/02/2021 14:51

Any refined sugar junk Sad I remember sitting with an empty box of jaffa cakes too many times! You're lucky it's only one thing!! Just in from running 22 mins, and I walked on then for a half hour, feel good.
B: berries, Greek yoghurt, quinoa crunch with 2 low fat milk cappuccinos
L: ratatouille with lentils/chickpea/kidney bean mix
D: burger, no bun, and homemade chips.
Moderation! Grin

TheHoneyBadger · 26/02/2021 15:03

Well done all.

Scales were down a little today which surprised me.

Today I have been a slug. Working from home on laptop in bed. I feel exhausted for some reason. Decent fasting window so far so hopefully that will help offset the fact I've barely moved.

drspouse · 26/02/2021 15:27

Sweets by the quarter from the sweet shop is my nemesis. Butter tablet or treacle toffee!

Overweight · 26/02/2021 15:42

Oh God - anything that's in the house. Biscuits, cake, chocolate, crackers. I have no off switch. The only way forward is not to have them in. DH is loving this because I'm making him choose snacks I don't like that he never normally has because normally we'd have got things I like too,

I've just received my first marathon badge from Fitbit 🙂. Wasn't expecting that. It feels good. That's my new target then - a marathon badge every four days.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 26/02/2021 16:02

Well done! I don't think you get them that often tho.. They change it up from what I can see.

Hangoverstruggles · 27/02/2021 08:18

Happy birthday @NutellaEllaElla! Enjoy your day 🥳

drspouse · 27/02/2021 09:12

Weigh in, same 1/4lb off that I put on last week 😊.
Onwards and upwards, or downwards for preference. Birthday chocolate is all gone! We may well have a takeaway pizza from the wood fired van but it's relatively easy to let the family eat most of it with them being greedy sods! Might make some coleslaw to go with it (my dressing is milk, vinegar, and light mayo, you don't need much).

Octopus37 · 27/02/2021 09:50

@NutellaEllaElla Happy Birthday. Hope you have a fantastic day.

Up on the scales this morning (9st6, takeaway 2 pounds). Have realised though that I need to focus on eating mindfully. I know I go round in circles with things. However, I have set myself a new rule, stop eating in front of the computer, whilst on my phone, whilst reading. Its a bad habit that I've got. I've just eaten my breakfast whilst not on the laptop. I've also got to get over having an almost fear of being hungry. Work in progress, hoping that March will be the month where I manage to turn things round a bit.

drspouse · 27/02/2021 10:40

One helpful step for me for mindful eating is wait, sit down, make a cup of tea and wait till it's a bit cooler.
So my after tea snacks had been basically the second tea was done, while tidying the kitchen.
Now they are after the DCs are in bed and settled and eating my biscuit calmly on the sofa with a cuppa. Then I'm also too settled to get more!

NutellaEllaElla · 27/02/2021 11:37

Thank you! What a beautiful day it is as well
