Anyone want to join me? It's 1st February tomorrow which seems a good day to start.

Three stone to lose here, I can't put it off any longer. I hate being overweight.

Nothing fits me and I am so miserable.

Hi everyone,

Can I join?
Had my baby in May and after a few months of stuffing my face (I blame breastfeeding), I have managed to loose 2 stone. Since August really so I'm pleased with that.
I'm 10.6 now but feel my best just under 10 so am aiming for 9.12. I think this will give me a tiny bit of wiggle room so when I hit 10 again I know to cut back.
I walk lots in the day but my problem is gorging on choc in the eve.
We've also been doing dry Jan and I am worried if i have the odd drink again that it will I hinder my weight loss.
I try to only wat between 12pm -8pm but I almost always have some choc after 8pm once baby is down.
So 8lb to loose for me and less choc!

RunningKatie · 02/02/2021 11:15

Day 2.
Last night I had salad with curry whilst DH had rice. Today I need to increase my water intake. We have snow so I am hoping to do a walk later if I can get the dc out!
I got a dress for my birthday that I can't fit in, and I am so disappointed in myself.
I am going to weigh daily whilst I get myself into a sensible pattern of eating and exercising.

LBB2020 · 02/02/2021 13:09

Yesterday didn’t quite go to plan diet wise so I’m starting again today! (I ate 2400 calories yesterday Blush).
I’ve just been for an hour walk with the DC and am planning on doing an exercise video when they are napping.

Ellieboolou33 · 02/02/2021 13:12

Glad to see others didn't quite get on track yesterday! Determined to continue, not let one bad Monday turn into weeks of bad eating!

kryptonfactor · 02/02/2021 13:14

Weighed in at 10 stone 2...I'm aiming for 9 stone 8 at the moment, so half a stone or so loss. Sore thighs from workout yesterday so just a big (ish) walk for exercise today, I think. Aim for around 2 litres of water again and more dissertation work later. There's some ice cream in the freezer calling my name, posting about it here as I really don't want to have to come back and say I ate some.

Youngatheart00 · 02/02/2021 13:49

I’m in. Have been stuck at 14 stone since November after piling on 2.5 stone in the last year largely due to being sedentary (wfh), booze and takeaways.

Feel gutted I’m still 14 stone and pushing a size 16 but content at least I have stopped the gain.

Now need to move more and eat less and hope those numbers falling start to motivate me (plus a sense of community on here!)

StrawberryFizz26 · 02/02/2021 14:44

Thanks everyone and welcome to all the new joiners, today is going better, have been for a walk and am almost at 10k steps so will defo smash that today.

I've only eaten a banana so far, going to have 2 boiled eggs in a min and then a prawn stir fry for tea!!

Shelovesamystery · 02/02/2021 16:43

Checking in on day 2. Welcome to those joining Smile

So yesterday went well. I had my dinner, put the kids to bed and by about 8pm by tummy was rumbling. Usually I'd go for a tub of Ben and Jerry's or a family size bar of chocolate Blush but I resisted and had a tesco low cal Thai Green curry ready meal (just under 300cal) and it filled me up until bed time. Didn't manage my Pilates though so need to do that today.

Today I've done well for breakfast and lunch. Stew is currently cooking for dinner. I did have a kit kat though 😂 we weighed it as part of DDs maths and then it was just staring at me. Did a 5k run this morning though so the kit kat is my reward. I just have to make sure I don't have any more "rewards" after dinner.

Does anyone else find they are moving less because of home schooling? I'm spending a few hours a day at the dining table with dd (she's 5 so she pretty much needs constant help and supervision) when I would usually be pottering around or taking toddler ds for a walk to the shops etc. Also I'm a part time waitress so being furloughed is not good for my steps 🙄 usually do about 10k steps on an evening shift. I hate lockdown!

Teaplease29 · 02/02/2021 17:20

So I've managed over 19000 steps with the pram today. OH helpfully made me a bacon roll for lunch and I had a toasted tea cake.. oh dear!
BUT I am going to stick to a healthy dinner.. salmon and stir fry.
I tend to find I can get away with a naughty lunch if I've not had breakfast.

Howaboutyou · 02/02/2021 20:03

Hi everyone,
So my first day or so hasn't gone entirely to plan! But I think I'm gonna sit down tonight & try and figure out a plan for me rather then just winging it! I've never dieted before & now have a lot to lose. Just wondering what way you guys find best to count calories? For example if you make a big dish of shepards pie for dinner and have a regular sized portion how do you even go about working out the calories in it?Probably a silly question but I'm a bit of a newbie at this!

Covidconfusion89 · 02/02/2021 20:21

Id like to join, long time lurker on the weight loss threads!

12 st 12lb and 5'7", need to get down to 11 stone to be the very top end of healthy bmi 😭 plus probably another half a stone to give me some leeway and be comfortable. I haven't weighed 10.5 stone in 10 years so i just cant imagine being able to do it.

Started jan 1st at 13st 3lb so have lost 5lb so far. I know thats not bad at all but it's so painfully slow.

Covidconfusion89 · 02/02/2021 20:27

@Howaboutyou i use my fitness pal and work out everything separately. So for cottage pie i would add up the calories for the mince etc, then weigh out the mash to go on top, then i'd divide the total cals by 4 or however many portions youre dividing it up to.

Sounds like a faff but its quick and easy. I don't count most veg so for a spag bol i would literally just calorie count the mince and spaghetti. The tinned tomatoes, onion etc i don't bother. Has been working for me!

Ledkr · 02/02/2021 20:34

Ive just had an epithany. Ate well all.day but just now i ate a bag of midget gems watching tv and went to calorie count them and they were about 600 cals. No wonder im bloody fat 😳 i do that about twice a week!!
What a wake up call.

Howaboutyou · 02/02/2021 20:43

@covidconfusion89 thanks I'm gonna need to dig out the kitchen scales so!! & well done you at losing 5lbs in january alone that's definitely an achievement!

LH1987 · 02/02/2021 21:20

So I started intermittent fasting today, eating from 1pm - 9pm, good idea in principle but I managed to fit 4 bags of crisps into that time frame.

As @Ledkr just said, it’s no wonder I’m bloody fat! Back to the drawing board for me.

Sailorsgirl44 · 02/02/2021 21:49

I managed to stick to 3 healthy meals today and no snacking. Am a little bit hungry now but have gone to bed to read.. If I stayed downstairs watching TV I'd be too tempted by the kitchen. If I could cut out eating after 7pm I think it would make a huge difference.

thesunwillout · 02/02/2021 22:51

Hi day 3 for me, isn't it annoying how as soon as you say to yourself right I'm going to start watching what I eat, you're IMMEDIATELY hungry!

So I've had porridge oats for breakfast, the Moonflake ones. So nice.
Had a beanburger (Tesco own fozen) and big salad for tea. They're really tasty.
Not really a lunch person as I can never think what to have, so I just had a few crackers and a Nescafé chic drink, it really helped my sweet craving.

Going to supermarket tomorrow for fresh supply of salad and vegetables.

Cornishclio · 02/02/2021 23:24

End of day 2 for me. Kept mainly on plan except for one chocolate biscuit this evening with my cup of tea. So porridge with orange juice for breakfast, vegetable soup and toast for lunch and a PON recipe, honey chilli pork with noodles for dinner. Snacks were fruit, yogurt, 2 oatcakes and the chocolate biscuit. No alcohol and exercise was a bike ride (6 miles) and 9000 steps.

DisappearingHelen · 03/02/2021 06:26

Morning all. Day 2 ended up being on plan for me. Phew. Hopefully by the end of feb I’ll have re-established enough good habits that getting through each day won’t be such a massive effort! Seems like a long way to go but 2 days down, 26 to go...

Good luck to everyone on day 3!

isthisit4 · 03/02/2021 06:57

2 stone to lose! All comfort eating through lockdown. Gutted! Would love to join in

Youngatheart00 · 03/02/2021 07:01

My initial goal is to get (comfortably) into some size 14 top shop jeans I bought in their sale. They arrived the other day and I couldn’t do them up....huge shock considering I was a comfortable 10/12 just 18 months ago. I’ve always been bottom heavy and even when I was wearing size 8 tops at my smallest I’d still go for size 12 jeans as found them more flattering but I’ve let myself go completely and I don’t even recognise the huge flabby expanse that is my stomach.

I need to do something before the world opens up again otherwise I’m going to be too ashamed to see people I haven’t seen for a year

StrawberryFizz26 · 03/02/2021 07:41

ledkr that's mad, I've never checked the calories in a bag of sweets and am shocked it's 600, me and DP very often eat a bag each. Oooops

Morning and welcome to everyone joining.
Day 2 was not quite on plan for me, I finished the victoria sponge and ate some chocolate BUT, I did almost 14k steps and according to Samsung health, I had about 300 calories to spare, which I'm happy with. I had 2 cigs compared to my usual 15 so I'm taking that as a win.

I've got overnight oats prepped for breakfast, will have tuna salad for lunch and a prawn stir fry for tea.

thesunwillout I agree, I feel hungry all the bloody time so am having a big swig of water when I get these pangs.

sailorsgirl44 I am going to do the same, I snacked on 5 strawberries about 10.30pm last night so being in bed early would stop that.

lh1987 just take it one day at a time. My first day was terrible, yesterday better and today hopefully better still.

Good luck with today everyone.

LBB2020 · 03/02/2021 07:58

Morning, yesterday was better for me but I was still over 2000 calories! I didn’t manage to do an exercise video either but will definitely do it today

StrawberryFizz26 · 03/02/2021 08:46

lbb2020 you can do it! What exercise video are you going to do? I've set myself a goal of pilates twice a week and walking the dog at least 6 days.

LBB2020 · 03/02/2021 09:53

@StrawberryFizz26 I’m currently on week 3 of MUTU System (trying to repair my ruined stomach muscles after having DS2 4 months ago!). I do also walk every day with the pushchair unless is pouring with rain. Enjoy your Pilates Smile
