Anyone want to join me? It's 1st February tomorrow which seems a good day to start.

Three stone to lose here, I can't put it off any longer. I hate being overweight.

Nothing fits me and I am so miserable.

AnneElliott · 01/02/2021 21:30

I'm going to join you all a day late if that's alright. Have 3 stone to lose.

Going to do low carb with intermittent fasting.

IsoIsobaby20 · 01/02/2021 21:43

I'm going to do that just a baby and then just go to bed!

LH1987 · 01/02/2021 22:14

@justadaydreamer, great idea!

IsoIsobaby20 · 01/02/2021 22:16

Sorry @justadaydreamer....not sure what happened there

Cornishclio · 01/02/2021 22:26

I would like to jump on board too having lost around 2 and a half stone last year I weighed myself this morning for the first time since early December and have put on 4lb. So 5 feet 4 inch and 11 stone 2lb this morning and aiming for 10 stone. Will weigh in on Monday mornings.

I usually do a lot more exercise but the gym is closed, I cannot do my classes or coastal walking so just aiming for 10000 steps a day. Logging calories at 1500 a day so hope that works.

I find this time of day is the worst for craving sweet stuff. I have been doing childcare for my 2 granddaughters today and avoided all the chocolate, crisps, cakes and biscuits but really craving one now. Did have a sneaky gin and slimline tonic though.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 01/02/2021 22:50

Hello, would you mind if I joined you, please? I don’t have a huge amount to lose but am conscious I need to be accountable somewhere.

I’m 5ft 6 and weighed 10 stone 8 this morning. My “fighting weight” is 10 stone 3, but I have been maintaining 10/7 since the summer. My problem is a massive lack of activity with working from home - usually I do about 18,000 steps on work days without thinking about it, whereas now I have to consciously get 10,000. I am also having an afternoon snack (and it’s not an apple) and too much wine.

I weigh myself every day - I think that’s probably not very good, is it?

kryptonfactor · 01/02/2021 23:35

Can I join you all? I will weigh in tomorrow as I forgot today. I'm expecting about 10 stone 4. In an ideal world I would like to lose a stone, though I'm not sure how feasible that weight is now I'm the wrong side of 30. So we will see, I feel much, much better once I get down to about 9 stone 8 or so. It sounds mad as it's a small amount but it makes such a difference to me and it is also hard to get to!

I'm going at this quite hard, I have started with a personal trainer and had my first session today. Two sessions of that a week and walking/lighter workouts on other days. Really need to get on top of the diet/drinking water as well. We had two take aways last week and also a load of junk...enough is enough, I really don't want to be coming into summer feeling the way I do now.

AlmostAJillSandwich · 02/02/2021 01:48

Room for another?
Hit my all-time highest weight of 17st 10lb back in July, and carry it worst round belly and face (basically no neck, ball on a ball like a snowman!). Bottom half size 16/18, top several sizes bigger.
Met my partner online during lockdown, managed to hit 16st christmas eve, then basically stalled there due to a few bad binge days.
Now at 15st 12lb and a first in person meeting "date" set for March (lockdown permitting) so its a race to lose as much as i can before then.
Doing a mixture of slimfast/protein shakes combined with 1000 or less calories a day, and my order of fat burner tabs arrived this morning, no idea if they work but giving them a go. Trying to limit sugars and up protein intake, doing mostly just diet due to disability/lockdown. No goal weight, ideally i'd like to end up a size 12 but could live with a 14.

DisappearingHelen · 02/02/2021 06:22

Morning all! Hope you survived day 1! I managed to stick to the plan (@Lovelymonkeyninetynine I’m also doing ww app - blue) yesterday despite nighttime cravings so good start. Now to repeat!

@Judystilldreamsofhorses I used to think that much weighing was bad but it works for some. Do you use happy scale or similar to help watch the trends rather than panic over a bad day?

Good luck again today folks!

DisappearingHelen · 02/02/2021 06:23

(Also I’m going to only try and next weigh myself on March 1st as weighing more often screws with my head at the moment!)

chickennuggets2 · 02/02/2021 07:00

Morning @DisappearingHelen I also find too much weighing as bit too much for my head, I do like to do it weekly.

Day 1 went well, it's always between 7- bed time I crave. Need to find something other than watching telly to occupy my mind! Only managed 1,500ml water yesterday so my goal today is to up my water intake and do 10,000 steps minimum!

Good luck today everyone!

istheresomethingwrongwithme · 02/02/2021 07:03

@chickennuggets2 I've been drinking a peppermint tea in the evenings. Not sure if it's your thing but might be worth a try. It's meant to curb cravings and also aids digestion, I seem to find it helps.

sociallydistained · 02/02/2021 07:08

I’ve been losing weight for a few weeks but yesterday I actually gained half a pound despite a brilliant week so I was a bit disheartened however I feel smaller so I decided yesterday to take progress photos for the first time ever and I’m going to take them once a month! So I guess I’m starting from Feb 1st too.

I’m currently 12st 0.5lb (at the start of Jan I was 12.7 so that’s some progress at least)

Good luck, everyone. Let’s emerge from Lockdown looking good! I would love to be prepared for when the warmer weather comes out of nowhere and we suddenly have to start shedding layers!

chickennuggets2 · 02/02/2021 07:32

@istheresomethingwrongwithme I actually love peppermint tea so I'll definitely give that a try, thanks!!

LaCicciolina · 02/02/2021 07:54

Can I join you lovely people please? I'd like to lose around a stone which has crept on in the last few months despite me exercising most days. I've realised that weight loss has a lot more to do with food intake than exercise so whilst I plan to keep up the exercise I am going to be a lot more vigilant about what I eat as well.

Ledkr · 02/02/2021 08:05

Can i join too.
Nice to have a thread where other peoples overweight is less than my goal!!!!
I had an mri a few weeks ago and had to be weighed. Fuuuck! I knew i had put weight on but i was over 14stone.
So im doing mfp but not 1200 cals im setting it at 1700 to start off so its fab to see some people have been sucessful on that.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 02/02/2021 08:26

disappearinghelen I track my weight (but not really my food!) in MFP, but I am definitely prone to panic over a bad day. Back to 10/7 today though which is good. I don't work on a Wednesday so used to only weigh then, but since March and WFH I have just got into the habit of doing it every morning before getting in the shower.

Have nice days, everyone!

Onamissionn · 02/02/2021 08:37

Yes I’d like to join too please!

Current weight is 11stone 7, id like to lose 2 stone. Plan is 16:8 and lower portion sizes. Some form of exercise daily. I have been trying to lose this 2 stone for 4 years and I feel the most determined that I have.

StrawberryFizz26 · 02/02/2021 09:03

I didn't stay on track yesterday!! I ate some cake in the afternoon and then ended up ordering a donner kebab!! I did enjoy it but this morning I've woken up with a coldsore which is not good at all.

So, I'm starting again today. I made myself a hot water and lemon last night and drank that first thing, I'm ordering myself some multi vitamins & vitamin d and am going for a walk at 10.30am.

I may not have done it yesterday but today is a new day and being honest on here is the only way I have of being accountable for what I am putting into my mouth!!!

serran · 02/02/2021 09:05

@StrawberryFizz26 well done for getting back on it today. You can do this.

OP posts:
StrawberryFizz26 · 02/02/2021 09:11

Thanks serran was just coming back on to say, this is day 3 of no drinking and at 11am, day 1 of not smoking.

chickennuggets2 · 02/02/2021 09:41

@StrawberryFizz26 rooting for you! 🥳

Sailorsgirl44 · 02/02/2021 09:58

I'm going to join in too please. First time ever joining in one of these threads.

Weight this morning is 14 stone 7 pounds. I'm only 5'4 so I really need to do this.

Am going to cut out bread, chocolate, biscuits, etc. Stop eating the kids leftovers.
For breakfast I had 2 boiled eggs and mushrooms.. I would usually have toast so the mushrooms were a nice substitute.
I plan on having soup (made at weekend) for lunch and minute steak with veg for dinner. Then no grazing!
Can relate to so much of what is being said on this thread so am going to check in every day and use it to help me keep on track.
Short term goal is to weigh 13 stone something.

LaCicciolina · 02/02/2021 10:13

I'm rooting for you too @StrawberryFizz26 - can't be easy both giving up smoking and being on a diet.

This is day 1 for me as wasn't in the right head space yesterday but today I have found some focus and motivation that I haven't felt in a long time. Breakfast was good and I have just made a shopping list to get all my favourite diet foods. I am low carbing and hoping that after a few days of getting used to it my appetite will reduce and then I may be able to attempt a 500 calorie fast one day a week (well that's the plan in theory although I am terrified of being hungry so not sure if I can do it yet!) My colleague lost four stone doing intermittent fasting twice a week and she has kept it off for five years now and still does two fast days a week.
