Aiming for 1lb per week

Previously I’ve been disappointed at losing ‘only’ 1lb per week so have fallen off the wagon but really if I’d just accepted it and kept at it I’d be stones down by now. The science tells me it’s 1lb per week I should be losing on the calorie deficit I had but obviously I wanted more Grin

My plan for January is to ease myself in gently by just stopping the snacks. Then if I need to take more extreme measures in February I will. I’m not great at stopping at one biscuit or one packet of crisps so I think none is the best way forward.

But not until I start work again on Tuesday. I’ll weigh myself then for a starting weight.

Anyone who would like to join me in whichever method they choose is more than welcome!

I've lost another pound! So, 4 pounds in 2 weeks and now I'm 10st 1lb.

Really pleased. ☺️

Well done @BaconAndAvocado!

I have also weighed today and I’m 78.6kg today which is 1.5kg down on last Friday! Not sure if it is a fluctuation that will go back up as this seems like a lot for one week but I’ll take it. I’ve been walking a lot more this week taking and collecting ds1 to preschool so this may have helped.

I’ve now lost 7.6kg since January. I need to lose 6.4kg to get back down to a healthy BMI and would like to lose about 10kg more after that.

BaconAndAvocado · 26/02/2021 19:15

Wow, that's great nojetter
Well done you!
I definitely think the exercise helps but cutting down on calories makes the biggest difference for me.

That said, DD is making burgers tonite so I couldn't possibly refuse!
And it is the weekend....

1lbperweek · 27/02/2021 10:36

Everyone is doing so well!

Having only gained in February I’m hoping for some good results in March. My only success this month has been giving up my weekday fizzy drinks.

I’m trying to make small changes every month so January was no snacking and February was giving up the weekday fizzy. In March I’m either going to have another go at giving up the snacks because they’ve crept back in this month or maybe commit to three workouts per week. Not sure which yet! Having that one small monthly goal seems to work really well for me.

That's actually pretty good success @1lbperweek. Giving up something you are used to can be prtty hard!

Just been out for a lovely walk in the shunshine and ended up with one of these.. anyone fancy a guess at how many calories I should be entering onto my tracker!? BlushGrin

Can't post a pic from my phone, but DH is making one of those hot chocolates with a whole Easter egg as a mug tonight, so you're not alone Squirtle! It's weigh in day tomorrow too 😬

BaconAndAvocado · 28/02/2021 23:23

Well It's definitely not been a snack free zone this weekend!
Back on it tomorrow.

SquirtleSquad · 01/03/2021 06:34

Happy Monday! I'm down 1lb this week which I'm really happy with and I've hit the 14 stone mark which puts me where I need to be for my op which is in 4 weeks time (how is it March already!?!) hopefully I can shift a couple more lbs by then so I have some wiggle room for some treats in recovery Grin

Had a bad few days with my eating with my first post baby period, but I m still half a pound down this week so taking it as a big win.

SquirtleSquad · 01/03/2021 12:52

That's a huge win!

BaconAndAvocado · 01/03/2021 14:20

Wow SquirtleSquad whoa that's a huge loss, well done you 🙂

ButterflyOfFreedom · 01/03/2021 15:56

Weigh day and I've gained 2lbs!! 😳
It's that time of the month so I'm hoping it's linked to that (though know it's probably more linked to the junk I've eaten this weekend!!).

Back in it today... wish me luck!!!!

CaptainCallisto · 01/03/2021 17:24

Well done Squirtle!

It's a 1lb gain for me this week (unsurprisingly after yesterday's indulgence!) but I've done my measurements this morning as it's the first of the month and I've lost another inch off my hips and bust, and another half inch off my waist. So I'm taking it as a win!

Jellifer · 01/03/2021 17:55

Well done everyone. Great to hear all of your stories. I maintained last week then lost another lb this week so am up to a half stone loss. I did pig out on Tuesday and had a chippy tea but I’d just given blood & always feel like I deserve a treat after that.

namechangefail2020 · 01/03/2021 18:15

When you measure your thighs, do you go for the biggest bit? Or the middle?

namechangefail2020 · 01/03/2021 18:16

That was for @CaptainCallisto :-)

CaptainCallisto · 02/03/2021 08:24

I don't measure my thighs namechange, but I think I would go for the middle. I would think that as long as you measure the same bit each time it shouldn't matter much.
