Aiming for 1lb per week

Previously I’ve been disappointed at losing ‘only’ 1lb per week so have fallen off the wagon but really if I’d just accepted it and kept at it I’d be stones down by now. The science tells me it’s 1lb per week I should be losing on the calorie deficit I had but obviously I wanted more Grin

My plan for January is to ease myself in gently by just stopping the snacks. Then if I need to take more extreme measures in February I will. I’m not great at stopping at one biscuit or one packet of crisps so I think none is the best way forward.

But not until I start work again on Tuesday. I’ll weigh myself then for a starting weight.

Anyone who would like to join me in whichever method they choose is more than welcome!

Weigh day for me and only 0.6lb lost this week but I’m ok with that, it’s all in the right direction.

Good luck for this week everyone.

Humphriescushion · 07/02/2021 09:36

Its the trend that counts as shrod said, everyone on this thread really helped me when week after week despite being careful i stayed the same. Then lost 4 pound in the fourth week - is like a bloody test to see if i will give up! I didnt thanks to people on this thread. So onwards and downwards Grin.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 07/02/2021 09:39

@Humphriescushion i had this. Week 1 x weight, week 2 same and then boom. Week 3 loss for both weeks showed.

I say that bodies are like printers. They know you want them to do something so they... Just won't 😂

Fembot123 · 07/02/2021 09:49

Hi all, I’m doing the 16/8 and I feel like it’s going well. At the moment I’m only working half days due to lockdown so I exercise every morning as well. I don’t have scales as I have had disordered eating in the past and they always exacerbated it, for now I’m going to go on the way I look and feel until I can get back to the gym and use their scales and I’d probably only weigh once a month as this works best for me. It’s really weird as I know I need to lose some weight but if I find out before hand how much I risk hating myself and being punishing when all I want is to do this sensibly.

Opensesame1 · 07/02/2021 09:56

Hi everyone, mind if I join in?

I love the idea of losing a pound a week.. I'm currently 14stone (weighed just now) and I want to lost 2 stone initially and then re-assess.

I have also had very disordered eating in the past and I find restriction of food groups very triggering leading to huge binges so my approach will be a kind of intermittent fasting.. 12-6 will be my eating window.. no food is off limits and I will keep an eye on the cals to make sure I have a deficit of some kind. I think the flexibility will be the key to success for me and I will try really hard to keep the guilt of slip ups at bay as this is also a massive trigger for me! 😂

I'm feeling really inspired by how well you are all doing and I have made myself a table to record my weight against the weekly target so that even when there are upward fluctuations I can still compare and see that I am on track or ahead hopefully.. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I think I weigh between 10’9 and 11 and whilst I do have a lot of muscle it is definitely not all muscle and I need to lose about a stone/stone and a half.

1lbperweek · 07/02/2021 10:05

You are so so right @SchrodingersImmigrant and I know that for every day or week I allow it to get to me it takes me further from my target. Back to being sensible tomorrow, well today really!

I am now checking weight throughout the week just for fun. I actually bet with myself about these crazy up and downs😂 Admittedly I was confused and not happy about it at the beginning, but then realised that's just how it is. It will budge @1lbperweek and you will be laughing at it too.

Good job everyone and welcome, new people!

Happy weigh in day to the Monday weighers! I've lost 4lbs this week. No idea how or why I did exactly the same as last week when I lost 1.5lbs Grin

Well done ! That's brilliant

I'm not looking forward to weigh day! Snow this weekend made me want to eat and I caved and ate chocolate! Back on being good today and hoping I didn't do to much damage to my loss so far

1lbperweek · 08/02/2021 07:40

The ups and downs are mad @SchrodingersImmigrant!

@SquirtleSquad that’s amazing you’re doing so well! Just shows if you stick with it the weight does come off. Well done!

@LJC1234 I’m sure a few days off won’t have done much harm at all!

I’m glad my period has arrived as that feels like a bit of a reset for me.

Fembot123 · 08/02/2021 08:08

I’ve ordered some scales and will hope to weigh myself just once a week 😂

ButterflyOfFreedom · 08/02/2021 08:37

Wow, well done @SquirtleSquad , amazing!

Weigh day for me - unfortunately I've gained 1lb :(
Not overly happy with that as I have been good this last week - even though I had a massive roast dinner yesterday I haven't had any junk food / treats...
Alas, it's only 1lb and I realise weight fluctuates throughout the week / month anyway (hormones etc).
The weather isn't helping with exercise as I'd usually go for long walks or a run but we've had lots of snow.

Let's see what this week brings!

SchrodingersImmigrant · 08/02/2021 08:52

Snow this weekend made me want to eat and I caved and ate chocolate
Unless you broke into Asda's storagevand eat it all, you will be fine😁 Everyone needs chocolate sometimes.

Good job everyone!

SchrodingersImmigrant · 08/02/2021 08:53

Including the gains btw because it's February and half a kilo up and down is actually ok😁
Ito will come down

CaptainCallisto · 08/02/2021 09:12

3lb off for me this week (after no loss last week). Really surprised as I still haven't come on!

Well done everyone - this week seems to have been tough for all of us!

SchrodingersImmigrant · 08/02/2021 09:23

this week seems to have been tough for all of us!
I think everyone started breaking a bit. I did. Midday hiding under a duvet 😂
But that's it. Another month or two and lockdowns are done.

1lbperweek · 08/02/2021 09:37

Well done everyone! I agree that last week was a tough one for some reason.

Cannot wait for March and hopefully some better weather to make lockdown a bit easier!

I’m still the same as last week 10.12 so no gain even though I wasn’t great last week which is helpful.

Have a great day all!

ButterflyOfFreedom · 08/02/2021 13:27

Should have said:

Starting weight 9 stone 5

Week 1 9 stone 5

Week 2 9 stone 6

Not great progress so far!!!!

1lbperweek · 08/02/2021 17:45

It’ll happen Butterfly, just give it time Smile

Hope you are all feeling better! My wobble has gone and digestion is finally back to normal-ish. So is mood. I am just 2-3kg behind my plan. Which is fine, I will spread it over some weeks as extra. I still have about 9-10months to go. Just in the exact middle😂

SquirtleSquad · 09/02/2021 12:15

I just really enjoyed some leftover kids lunch of cheesey jacket potato with extra butter and sea salt BlushGrin

wineymummy · 09/02/2021 18:38

Squirtle...that sounds delicious....
Half way schroedinger! Great work. I am also just over half way to my target weight of 72kg. Would like to get a bit lighter so I'm not just on the cusp of being overweight again but I'm already really pleased with my loss and looking so much slimmer at 77.9kg.

Fembot123 · 10/02/2021 10:40

I’ve finally weighed myself and I’m 10’7 down from 10’9 at least so going in the right direction 😁
