I’ve gained a whopping 2 stone since March, and have an overall 3-4 stone to lose. This is a combination of : alcohol/crisps/general boredom snacking while WFH and a very sedentary lifestyle.

I used to walk 5-7k steps most days just going to work/out and about at weekends, but now seem to be glued to my office chair or sofa and am really feeling the ill-effects... also without the motivation of social life I have been less inclined to look after myself .

Does anyone want to join me on a push to be less sedentary (& eat healthily) to lose weight

My focus is:

  • 10k steps/day minimum
  • healthy (mostly unprocessed food) diet
  • limiting empty calories from alcohol & sugar

Just got a fit bit to count steps, & will be going for a walk/jog 1st thing to get most of my steps in, then making myself have a few other breaks in the day to get the numbers up

@LarsErickssong: good to hear your update!

I’m struggling to get going again tbh : I seem to be mid house renovation which is occupying much of my time

Hello both. @LarsErickssong I feel in a similar position - keeping up my steps - infact was bullied into my highest day ever last week (over 30K), as I was bullied into going on a gentle walk (massive trek!) by DH and DD for her birthday. But the diet has totally gone to pot - been celebrating too much. She's off home to London today, so hopefully I'll get back on it. Got some volunteering shifts at a local vaccination centre over the next couple of weeks, so hopefully that will keep me occupied.

@10kADay I think it's really important not to get cross with ourselves. You've got masses on at the moment, so you need to look after yourself, and have a treat when necessary. Probably best not to find it necessary 10 times a day, as I've been doing lately! Grin

We're all doing our best.
