Hi all
I really need to lose a total of about 4 stone.

I'm not keen on the usual weight loss type chats with methods and foods etc discussed in detail.

So I was trying to think how it could be more interesting.

This might be a crap idea but I know I do better when I have interesting things to do. Today I've done my workout, some drawing and keyboard practice. I've also read a couple of chapters of Women Who Kill (!) and watched The Crown, I'm on Season 2.

It was those things that made snacking on a boiled egg less of a shock 😂

So I was thinking, what about a support thread where we don't talk about the details of our methods, but just check in for support, and tell each other something interesting we've done that day, even just a film we've watched.

Is it a bonkers idea?

Coco, I don't know whether to be more sorry that you're unwell or that you've resorted to plain pants!

Sing, welcome along, how nice that you can play piano whenever you like.

I did my workout but then had a nap....no artwork. It's the cold, it really takes it out of me!

Keyboard practice later. I think some of the app stuff is going too fast for me so I will be going back over a section I've already done.

Tbf black granny pants are my default, I wear a lot of black trousers and don't like having a cold bum ❄️ 🍑

AcornAutumn · 05/01/2021 17:57

I am being useless and can't decide what to draw

No, I won't post the result here

But what shall I draw? Snow scene? Night street lamps? Knickers on a washing line? 😂

I’ve taken the dog for a power walk through the mud and managed to squeeze in 30 minutes of yoga but my plans to start a new puzzle this evening will have to be relegated for a day at least as marking children’s work online takes and I couldn’t face it earlier. Really wish I’d just got on with it now though!

That made me snort loudly Grin it’d be like a classy Aliens love underpants. Maybe you could illustrate the new version, Slimmers Love Fancy Pants. 💡
SingToTheSky · 05/01/2021 19:40

I love using drawing prompt lists acorn - the Inktober 2019 one is what got me back into art!

That said, I’d definitely welcome a drawing of knickers on a washing line to lighten my mood. :o

Evening all.
I’m waiting for the drawing by @AcornAutumn. Loving @IHateCoronavirus idea of slimmers love fancy pants 😀

I’ve posted the leggings I worked out in today, hope they are sufficiently colourful.
I used DHs rowing machine for the first time - I’m trialling the new Apple fitness+ subscription and really enjoyed rowing along with Josh. I did a 20 minute work out and I would have never done that long if I’d done it on my own. Then did 10 minutes of yoga.

Was then in a good mood whilst cooking dinner (pulled chicken chilli 😋) so danced along to some 80s pop.

I think the trick to being in a good mood is forget about the diet and not watch the news. Total denial in offer words!

Oops, offer=other

AcornAutumn · 05/01/2021 20:05

Sorry, I went for snowy scene but I did also say I wouldnt post a photo...if I ever draw anything good, I will post it.

Screwed up the perspective completely

The light is okay though

Practice makes progress, as Jessica Smith says!

I love 80s pop. I didn't know about Inktober, that's interesting.

Ooh pulled chicken chilli sounds ace!

LOVE the leggings! I shall try and remember to take photos of my (much larger) Lockets when I wear them. They make me feel so good though, I really should just wear them daily and ignore my boring jeggings!

IHateCoronavirus · 05/01/2021 23:46

Ooh GinnieHempstock you were in the zone! Star

GwendolineWindowlene · 06/01/2021 11:23

Morning all. Sunny crisp freezy walk done, lovely. Homeschooling and WFH at the mo, but managing not to fall face first into the biscuit tin.

Feeling good. Smile

Cantdoitallperfectly · 06/01/2021 11:35

Hi can I join I too? I’ve not weighed myself yet.. we had take away last night and I just can’t seem to get out of the comfort eating. I like to run but lockdown/Christmas/poor routine has got in the way. I need to establish better routine (late to bed and evening snacking is my downfall) but I’m just not tired at 10.30pm and like to have some me time after the kids go to bed.

AcornAutumn · 06/01/2021 11:36

I might actually go for a walk...it's not as cold as they said and actually sunny.

Cant cross post

Welcome along! I can't go to bed early either.

SingToTheSky · 06/01/2021 11:51

Me time is so important. I hate going to bed at the same time as the DCs because I feel so burnt out by all the noise etc and it’s been worse lately as their sleep is all out of whack.

Must get back to maths with DS now

GwendolineWindowlene · 06/01/2021 12:04

Ooh, I love an early night! DD is 10 and sometimes I go to bed at the same time as her as a treat. Blush

Not strictly a hobby, but another thing I'm trying this new year is not spending money. I reckon I have enough clothes, skincare, haircare and stationery to get me through the year. I'm congratulating myself on unsubscribing from lots of mailing lists, to take temptation away.

And, I've just reserved some books at the library. I'm loving all this self-improvement.

AcornAutumn · 06/01/2021 12:18

I love reading but I'm going to have to start walking round the flat as I read. Otherwise it's too much time on my arse!

Weighing day today and I'm happy.
I love my bed I got a teddy bear duvet set and i absolutely love it , it's so cosy.

acatcalledjohn · 06/01/2021 13:20

Weigh in today. Down 1.7lbs from the 1st of January, which I am happy with. Will go for a walk after I finish work too.

I am WFH and struggling a little with my seating position now so have requested a standing desk. That should help my posture and also burn a few extra calories to make up for walking less.

IHateCoronavirus · 06/01/2021 13:44

Well done everyone having happy results from their weigh ins. Star

AcornAutumn · 06/01/2021 14:45

I like that we all have different weighing days. Well done all.

Sunny day most welcome here.

Gwen re spending money, I did that embarrassing thing of having a wardrobe sort and going "oh, that's pretty...I don't remember wearing it much" 😳

I just took the DC out on their bikes for our daily hour of exercise. I ran! Shock running is not something my body is made to do. I can feel bits on lung I never knew I had.

On the home stretch I was certain I could taste blood, is it possible to get TB through vigorous exercise?

Hello all, great to hear about the weigh-ins, hobbies, colorful pants/leggings, exercise and the budgie!

I have decided to observe 'weigh in Wednesday' and have lost a 1lb which I'll take since ds turned 11 yesterday and we managed to finish the cake in 24 hours!
