Hi all
I really need to lose a total of about 4 stone.

I'm not keen on the usual weight loss type chats with methods and foods etc discussed in detail.

So I was trying to think how it could be more interesting.

This might be a crap idea but I know I do better when I have interesting things to do. Today I've done my workout, some drawing and keyboard practice. I've also read a couple of chapters of Women Who Kill (!) and watched The Crown, I'm on Season 2.

It was those things that made snacking on a boiled egg less of a shock 😂

So I was thinking, what about a support thread where we don't talk about the details of our methods, but just check in for support, and tell each other something interesting we've done that day, even just a film we've watched.

Is it a bonkers idea?

Hi everyone, here is an amazing diet plan with a delicious variety of recipes that I would recommend to anyone, truly the holy grail for healthy weight loss. This helped me so much through my weight loss journey and I hope it will help you all too. Link down below 😊

Acorn I would use a very sharp pair of fiskars and buy a special foot for your sewing machine which rolls the edges into a scroll and sees it down.

Sewing fine materials is very hard though so find the right tension and thread in your machine on a test piece of fabric.

My news is:

  • been ill for five days with a migraine. I vomit and feel sick through the entire thing so didn't eat for 4 days. Only lost two pounds but every helps!
  • youngest ds probably has ASD and ADHD according to Ed Psych. Still gutted but feeling bit better
  • Sodding garden wall fell down ffs. Pallet fence was looking good in a lovely cornflower blue, ariculara theatre glorious on pallet wood shelves, new ceramic pots awesome...and then, disaster. DH and I ended up laughing hysterically about it in the end and in a weird way it reminded us that life is full of difficult stuff but that it's so important to try and not take it too seriously Grin
MrsBobDylan · 05/04/2021 10:11

Here is a not finished version of the factory trolley garden sofa. DH is telling everyone that I plan to do one from Asda next...

Hello ladies, I've written two long replies that I've failed to send so this will probably be an inferior version but hopefully I will press send.

So glad you've had support to process Mrs Bobs - it's so important and all feelings are equally valid. A very old and very important friend of mine from school who lives in another country has 2 ASD children and one toddler. When he was a newborn her eldest got given a much longed for support Labrador it nearly took her over the edge. She was only diagnosed in her 20s and now lectures in Autism Studies. It's just so much harder. She's convinced I'm on the spectrum but my GP has been trying to get me assessed for ADD and dyspraxia since before COVID and I'm constantly getting rejected from different services and told to go private. I hope you all get the support you need. I am in love with the room of requirement garden centre - there's something about it reminds me of my mum and my aunt. The magic and right in cue of it is all so us. I don't feel I've said anything comforting or helpful here but hugs.

Ooh Acorn what are you sewing? I bought my first pair of fabric scissors from Wilkos years ago and thought they were the best thing ever. I then upgraded recently - maybe from hobby craft but I think I chickened out of getting the ones I really wanted as I was preparing for Christmas and on repeated hobbycraft online sprees.

Longest Lurker, I hope you don't think I'm following you about but I've decided to join your reservoir. Grin I was struggling a bit with the membership options last weekend and decided I would ring in the week for advice and lo, here we are a week later with no achievements unlocked. I have been on my course though and preparing for garden family reunion yesterday. I can't believe we were all in bare arms yesterday and it's snowing now!

Should I buy a wet suit? I'm having a terrible time buying second hand outdoor trousers. I keep measuring things and they still don't fit. The first was my error - i did waist measurement but bought low rise trousers so the "waist" was around my hip which is very different number indeed.

Still had my first 'ooh these trousers fit me' moment in the week which was great. The scales didn't move on Monday, went down 3lb on tuesday and are backup 2.5lbs today so we'll just call that the big Easter Right Off and proceed with joy. Although despite my best efforts, there's still a bit too much choc lying around for my own good.

MrsBobDylan · 05/04/2021 17:16

Hi Inky thanks that was a lovely message! I get cross that adult referrals for neurological investigations are rarer than hens teeth. Hope you can find someone good, as I think it's important to find answers if we have questions.

I think you should buy a wetsuit (based on swimming in the sea in spring/Autumn back in the day). I remember them being exhausting to squeeze into so you'll shed those 2lbs again no probs Grin

I wish I could join the reservoir.

Meanwhile, in other news, one of my sisters has fallen out with me and my next door neighbour is being a condescending twat about the wall which fell down. He's just given me a lecture about how I should have contacted the Council before dh took it down to a safe level before it fell over and killed a pedestrian.

I have just stress-eaten a 1/4 tube of Pringles and I don't even like them...

inkysplatter · 06/04/2021 08:35

Oh god it's true about Pringles. You just can't stop and they're so not even average.

I can't believe I completely missed your trolley sofa Mrs Bobs. It's a work of art! I'd buy that like a shot if I saw it for sale. It's fabulous and just my style.

I found a big Lindt bunny in a wheelbarrow last night (my garden, left over from the previous day's hunt.) I was looking for it at OH's suggestion. Was just starting to tackle the kitchen and my sink is completely blocked. Tried a plunger, a snake and some awful chemicals but now I just have a sink for of chemicals and a huge pile of washing up. 😅 The bank holiday is well and truly over and the bunny is no more.

longestlurkerever · 06/04/2021 20:48

Evening all! Am glad this thread has come back to life. Ugh have eaten far too much over Easter. Need to get back on the wagon! Was nice though, and I am loving the reservoir. Welcome inky! I will see you down there! I love my wetsuit but it 5ajes a few swims to get used to and t'll probably be warm enough to go without for a few months soon (once the snow fucks off!) So up to you. It's about 50-50 wetsuits and "skins".

Is the garden centre near here too then?? Or am I muddled?

Going on holiday next weekend! Can't believe it.

GwendolineWindowlene · 07/04/2021 07:51

Hello all. Apologies for my absence. Not lost any more weight, but not gained any that I've lost either. I'm going to re-read Dr Chatterjee and see if that inspires me like it did the first time I read it.

inkysplatter · 07/04/2021 15:02

I've just remembered why I don't have chocolate around ever. I just love it and have no self control.

I have invested on a wetsuit but it won't arrive until the end of the hols which is annoying but it's not like is use it earlier.

The garden centre of requirement is Mrs Bob's

MrsBobDylan · 09/04/2021 09:19

Thank you for liking the sofa Inky! I have re-sprayed it Capri blue so it is rather shiny and new looking which is great Grin

I am struggling at the moment, lots going on with appointments, genetic testing and behavioural issues at home with kids.

The sodding wall fell down in the back garden - it looks like London after the blitz. I visited my best friend and one of her two patios is the size of my entire garden and I'm ashamed to say that I am ashamed of where we live. Her dh offered to come over to give some advice but I couldn't cope with him seeing our house/yard.

Weight-wise I was forced to eat 2 mint magnums yesterday out of sheer misery.

longestlurkerever · 09/04/2021 14:32

Ugh Mrs Bob that exact thing happened to me last year! It's such a pita and you can't decide whether paying for new brickwork is worth it or not.

I am in the middle of arguing with people on another thread about hosting and so on. Sometimes it does feel more than you can cope with, and my house feels constantly chaotic and grubby compared to my elegant friends. We all trained together in the city but I moved to the public sector 15 years ago and our lives have diverged somewhat. I hope I'll feel better after my decorators have finished but I'm at the stage where one step forwards just highlights other things that need doing.

I have been terrible at eating healthily this week. Will give myself a break for my holiday and then try again.

MrsBobDylan · 11/04/2021 09:15

@longestlurkerever I have also been not very good at the healthy eating...I think I am trying to eat myself happy rather than healthy.

I am determined to get back on it!

inkysplatter · 15/04/2021 18:22

I've been half writing messages and not sending them again. Sorry to hear about the wall. What a total a mare. I want mint magnums now. I wish they did a white chocolate one with mint ice cream. That's an underrated flavour combination IMO. The scales have definitely been creeping in the wrong direction but a weekend of MIL stress, holiday with kids treats and a boozey lunch thrown in it could have been worse.

My wetsuit arrived today with more forest school wear supplies. Unfortunately the delivery man left it in the compost bin and everything reeks. I've washed it all but

Hope every one is enjoying the restriction easing. I admit I was terrified, but actually braved a pub lunch and popped on a train to check in on my cousin who has MH issues. (Both train and pub was first for me in over a year!) So amazing to see friends and leave the city. I can turn recluse far too easily anyone.

LL what is the changing situation like at the reservoir? They say there's no changing rooms, fair enough but are there screens or anything? I can't be squeezing out my wetsuit in full view. I'm not entirely I'll be able to anyway. I'd also prefer not to cycle down Green Lanes in it dripping everywhere. 😂

inkysplatter · 17/04/2021 16:27

Right ladies, I've gone to the dogs.
But I have had a mint Viennetta so at least I've remained sophisticated throughout. Just caught sight of myself in some pictures from my course and reinspired after my Easter sojourn at the feasting table.

longestlurkerever · 18/04/2021 22:10

Hi All! I've been on actual real life holiday! To the lake District where I swam in lakes more beautiful than my lowly reservoir, as well as the sea by Sellafield in an attempt to grow fins. Was totally lovely but I have eaten and drunk like a Bacchanalian demigod. Will have to live on water and air to halt the decline.

Inky, no there aren't any changing rooms at all at the moment, you just have to get changed under a towel or robe like at the beach. You get used to it though.

Schools back tomorrow and work too, ugh. At least there's a bit more to do at weekends.

inkysplatter · 23/04/2021 19:07

Ooh LL that sounds heaven. I've definitely found my motivation now as just realised I am to be a bridesmaid this July and the other 3 are all yoga instructors send wine erm lettuce?

Jemsss · 26/10/2021 14:09

Thanks for post bro.
