Half a stone by Christmas anyone?

EasternDailyStress · 07/11/2020 13:25

I did really well over the last lockdown and lost 1.5 stone. Over the past month or so the weight's started to creep back on ...

I like to do slow and steady, so am aiming for 6/7lbs by Christmas, using a combination of MFP and being more active.

Can't exercise as such due to a foot injury at the moment.

Would anyone be up for a bit of moral support and chat?

Maybe a weekly check-in too?

I meant to add that I feel embarrassed to be so shallow, but my weight really affects my mood!!!!

Winealot, I didn't think it's shallow, it effects me too. I have a weight that I think is right for me and when I go up even a few pounds I feel it in my clothes and I hate feeling 'squashier' and i feel annoyed. I think with your efforts you'll see a difference next week.
Well done to everyone with their losses, we can do this!

I don’t think it’s shallow either. I recognise I don’t have that much weight to lose, but it’s still not easy (hats off to anyone who loses a lot of weight- it’s an impressive achievement).
My clothes would look better and I would feel better.

Thank you! It’s does seem ridiculous that a few pounds that others wouldn’t notice can make you feel so rubbish about yourself.
I feel exhausted from analysing why it doesn’t seem to be coming off!!
All I can do is keep going and hope that in the end something works 🤷‍♀️

1lb down today.

Just hoping it'll carry on going that way. Feel so unmotivated to exercise when the weathers horrible.

Well done Poshme!
Winealot, I started running two weeks ago every morning Mon to Fri, now it's only a mile but I do some weights, etc after. After my first week I put 2lbs on! So annoyed but I kept at it and I lost 2lbs this week so I'm just hoping the first week was a blip, extra fluid or something. I'm sure it'll be the same for you.

That’s great Poshme.
Tomcullen - well done on the running. Interesting re the 2 pounds....I’ve been running regularly for about 6 years so my body should be used to it! Hope you get the runners high soon....it really is a thing.
I just want the stand on the scales and they’ve gone down high 😂

Well I lost 4 pounds BUT I last weighed 10 days ago and I was fully clothed and it was the middle of the day. Today was first thing. Anyway, it was good because before that I was in a very fuck itframe of mind and going to sabotage myself, I feel quite motivated.

Let’s see how this week goes!

2.4lbs off, down to 144.2. My rowing machine counter is broken and fails to register a lot of my strokes, so I have to work twice as hard to reach my target. I think that's helping 😂😂😂

You are always going to be at home at some point - weekends etc - you need to not think of it as a bad thing. Maybe take it as an opportunity to have a nicer/ healthier breakfast/ lunch / dinner.

I’ve been a SAHM for years - and only realised recently that meant I didn’t have to have a boring sandwich for lunch!
(Hoping this doesn’t turn into a SAHM bashing thread 🤣)

I find that being at home for lunch means I'm more likely to have a healthy option- usually salad. I prefer it all freshly chopped & prepared.

Just have to stay away from the kids' lunch box snacks in the cupboard!

Terrible day, no run this morning (I was frantically trying googling to find the mythical beast that is a PlayStation 5!). I also had Malteasers and then sausages and chips from the chippy. Not good but I enjoyed every mouthful! Tomorrow is another day

I must admit that it was working from home from last March had caused a lot of my weight gain to start with . I would normally have some kind of salad for lunch at work and would eat fruit but being at home meant I spent the whole day eating toast . Stock problems in shops last March also meant I couldn't get particular things I'd been eating and just fell into unhealthy spiral.

Anyway I am quite pleased with myself this week Just eating more mindfully , one piece of toast instead of two, loads of veg with my evening meal and having a drink before I reach for a snack .

Logging around 1500 calories which means I'll maintain or lose very slowly but not feeling at all deprived .

Weighing 1lb less than last Saturday.

Struggling the last 2 days! I’ve been off work and so my routine has vanished. I also got a PlayStation so haven’t moved far from the TV. DP is back from being away tonight and we have a dominos planned (it’s no wonder I gain weight is it?!). I’m going to have a small pizza and wedges which will put me over my calories by 300 for the day so not a complete disaster but there’ll definitely be weight gain from all the salt! Going to get back on it tomorrow...

How has everyone been getting on this weekend? I’ve tried to be as good as possible, but wine and chocolate have featured!
Have run 11 miles over the course of the weekend too, so hopefully that will have cancelled a bit of it out 🤞

Can I join?!! I have about 1.5 to 2 stone to lose in total! Slow and steady sounds the way to go... Half a stone by Xmas would be fab, I'm not getting my hopes up though! I started yesterday, weight has just crept on since ds2, it came off much faster with first baby but I had put less on! Sigh!! I'm trying to exercise more, but I have such a sweet tooth!

Winealot · 22/11/2020 21:50

Of course you can join, the more the merrier!
It’s hard when you start as I think you feel so hungry for the first 4-5 days.
We weigh in on a Wednesday, I gained the first week 😩.
Hoping for better this week, but need a very good Monday and Tuesday

I will join please! I had a baby last year, lost loads, then it started to creep back on since last Christmas really so it's nearly a year in the making - really bad over lockdown though!

I'm 5"6 and last time I weighed I was just over 11 stone, I don't have a big frame and don't carry it well at all. I'd love to be 10.7.

I'm planning on doing MFP, 1200 calories on weekdays, treat day (but not go mad) on a Saturday and slightly more on a Sunday, 1400-1500. I'm a terrible evening snacker and binge eater. I exercise so that's something at least and don't drink much alcohol.

I'm in - I would love 7lbs by Christmas so I can wear anything I want in my closet on Christmas day rather than just what fits.
32 days countdown to Christmas.

@Winealot I also need a good Monday and Tuesday.
Managed not to snack too much over weekend, but too much wine.

Must also try and up the exercise. I need some lovely bright sunny days to encourage me out!

Just checking in, have been absent amidst the frenzy of working over the weekend but my days off are coming up. Pretty sure I won't lose anything this week, so busy at work I had a cup of tea and biscuits for lunch each day :(

Back on it from last night though.

Hi, please can I join? Would love to lose half a stone by Xmas. I've found since hitting my 30s the weight comes off much slower.
Currently 167lbs. Would love to be in the 150s by Christmas day...

Welcome @Katiepants27 oh god don’t say that I’m 29 and it’s already bad enough!

@poshme it’s so cold and dark now isn’t it, staying in with snacks is just so tempting! I’ve been running round the gym car park and lifting weights in it tonight feeling cold a bit daft. This was definitely easier in summer!
