Nourishing November

Right here's the new thread. Thought I would find a kind title as October has been a challenging month for so many and at the risk of sounding pessimistic, November is likely to be to. I'm starting at 9st2.75, my aim for the end of November is to get into the 8s.

1 proper dinner and a large glass of Baileys.

Will have burnt less than 2000cals today. I'm sure straining my brain with new software and platforms should burn more calories! Wink

Octopus37 · 23/11/2020 07:15

Heartbeat sounds as if you ae doing well. Well done on your steps Heygirl. Honeybadger, you sound similar to me yesterday, I did hardly any steps cause I was doing online work and studying all day. This new way of eating feels manageable for me so far, was harder yesterday as I was at home, but I've got a busy day today so should be ok. 9st1 this morning. It suddenly feels as if Christmas isn't far off, although so much seems to happen over the course of a month these days. Hope everyone has a good day.

It's amazing how low steps are on days like that, it's a pain but an eye opener for sure. 8st12 for me, some granola and Greek yoghurt before bed did that. Early night today, exhausted right now.
B: ONO
L: roast veg with hallloumi and pesto mayo
D: roast chicken and veg and potatoes
Goals: 2.5L water, 10k minimum steps, 10pm lights out

TheHoneyBadger · 23/11/2020 09:30

Glad it's suiting you Octopus.

I'm allegedly 0.2 of a lb down on yesterday lol. Today is more active due to work.

Have managed to get ds up and onto the computer logged in by making him pancakes for breakfast. Stick wasn't working so went for a carrot. Not sure how I'll manage it tomorrow.

Have had the phonecall today to tell me he's been identified as a close contact of a new positive case so he has to completely isolate and I have to wonder if it is or isn't in my house already whilst I'm dutifully having to go into work. Interesting times! 0.2lbs will do Grin

Well done sticking to it heygirl.

"Miss, if we're doing the right hand for a bit, can I move my pedometer across to my right hand? Because when I play the piano it counts steps and if I get to 10k steps the school gives me a star."

Heartbeats0708 · 23/11/2020 21:25

Genius monochrome I hope you let them Grin
Relatively good day but a lot of guesswork with my dinner.
Eggs on toast for lunch kept me nicely full and I rediscovered space raiders!
Dinner was a spiced beef casserole type dish with roasted veg and basmati. Wouldn't bother with the beef again it wasn't that flavoursome but I'm looking forward to the leftover roast veg in something tomorrow.

Hangoverstruggles · 23/11/2020 22:53

Hi all,

9st 12 this morning which is bizarrely 3lb less than last Monday. Encouraging to think that maybe once in the maintenance range it doesn't stick as easily? Maybe..

I averaged 1500 a day last week so only a small deficit - so the 3lb can't have been real fat if that makes sense?

Today:
B coffee
L peanut butter & banana sandwich (really lush thick bread), satsuma
D chicken parmigiana (from taste of Nom book) with sweet potato and greens
S hot chocolate

@HeyGirlHeyBoy wish I could be disciplined and go to bed early like you. I'm tired but stay up too late!

Octopus37 · 24/11/2020 07:40

Well done Hangover, 9st1 here this morning. Finding the way I'm eating, ok, I do have to push through a bit of hunger, but is doable. Hope to see some results, ie 8st13.5 by the end of November

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 24/11/2020 08:38

Hangover agree completely, I know I could ditch my gain in two solid good weeks. My early nights are the biggest gift I can give myself at the moment and I'll aim for the same tonight. Different woman today. Period arrived early yesterday so I'm afraid I had a bar of milka, between lack of sleep and a stonking head cold I thought I'd expense the 500cal splurge! No move on scales 8st12, so need to get back to Saturday's 8st 10.75.
Goals: 10k min, 2.5L water, 10pm lights out, no junk
B:ono
L: broccoli, feta, tomato salad
S: pear and almonds
D: broccoli nutty fried rice. Yum all round. No complaints from me.

Well done octopus you're doing well. Have a good day all.

TheHoneyBadger · 24/11/2020 09:20

Another pound of my regain appears to be gone again today.

Hopefully I can get back to former low sometime soon.

Keep going everyone

TheHoneyBadger · 24/11/2020 10:03

Forgot to say yay for gyms reopening! So pleased about that

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 24/11/2020 10:50

Brilliant HB and so funny monochrome, I think your cal allowance probably the way to go, even 1700, slow and steady for me now.

Hangoverstruggles · 24/11/2020 21:26

Glad it's goi ok Octopus - I reckon you'll be 8 something by end of the month.

Good news honey, and glad your gym will be back open!

@HeyGirlHeyBoy sounds like the chocolate was absolutely needed!

Hungry today but tried to keep it in check. Ravenous and ratty with kids on the walk home as suddenly starving, prob not the best meals for filling me up today.

B blueberry flavoured rice cakes and banana at my desk, all the coffee

L big portion of overnight oats with blueberries

D chicken parmigiana leftovers, some pasta in the side (didn't weigh!), cleared the kids plates also 😳, mince pie

S satsuma, hot choc

I've tracked at 1700 but could easily be 1800.

Thanks for being here ladies!

Octopus37 · 25/11/2020 07:41

Thanks Hangover 9st1.75 this morning though so a slight gain. With this weather I just want stodgy stuff to eat. Trying to keep my steps up. Meeting a friend for an outside lunch today, going to Roti Masters which should be nice. Hope everyone has a good day.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 25/11/2020 08:31

I'm the same octopus, stodge is right, I'm the same. Had a few chocolate biscuits last night, bad cramps and thumping head and it didn't do me any good that's for sure but anyway new day today. No change on scale.
B: granola, berries and Greek yoghurt
L: broccoli nutty fried rice
D: pizza!
Goals: 2.5L water, 10k minimum steps, lights out 10.15! Have a good day and enjoy your walk and chat Octopus.

TheHoneyBadger · 25/11/2020 09:36

I avoided the scales today. Will brave them tomorrow.

Today I should at least get a decent -ish amount of steps in and a small fast. I gave in and put beer in my online shop this week which doesn't help but god it's nice to have a beer after a hard day.

Low cal ice cream was a hit - can't remember if it's called oppo or appo but it was good.

Heartbeats0708 · 25/11/2020 17:05

What's broccoli nutty rice @HeyGirlHeyBoy it sounds up my street?
I had a bad day yesterday but back at it today and don't feel too bad, enjoyed it at the time!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 25/11/2020 17:20

ot.rte.ie/recipes/nutty-fried-rice-with-satay-sauce/ Here you go, love it, massive portion and so tasty. Had a bowl at 1.20 and have just had a hot choc made on water since. Not even overly hungry now for pizza night..

Heartbeats0708 · 25/11/2020 21:08

Oh that sounds great, thank you for the link! I think I have everything in though my broccoli isn't as fresh as I'd like so I'll try it post-shop.
Day finished with cals to spare, early night for me. Hope everyone is staying sane!

IDontMindMarmite · 25/11/2020 21:19

Hey everyone. Glad to see you're all well. I'm feeling discouraged from reading another thread where people are talking about the stats that more than 80% of people regain all the weight they lost within 5 years and it's not as simple as calories in calories out, even though that has worked so well for me. Is it a hopeless endeavour?

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 25/11/2020 21:24

That's people who 'diet' for X date and then say 'All done' and then go back to their old ways until the next diet. That's not us Idontmindmarmite! Smile

IDontMindMarmite · 25/11/2020 21:32

Thank you, I love you for saying that ❤️

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 26/11/2020 06:56

Aww Smile I mean it. It's not as simple as cals in and cals out..do I even want to know what that means? Confused We're doing fine here Idontmindmarmite, don't have your head turned now Grin

Octopus37 · 26/11/2020 07:18

Glad everyone's doing well. I'm back to eating breakfast today (a cereal bar) cause I ended up really not feeing right on it yesterday. 9st1.5 this morning, so dont feel that it was making much of a difference. Hope everyone has a good day.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 26/11/2020 08:29

I'm 3lbs up on last sat Hmm 8st 13.75, that'll be the Chinese and a few shortcake biscuits. I'm being silly now and need to reign it in! Walk today and fridges and shelves are bare, big shop Sat in our house so that's that!
I'm keeping up with my step, water and bedtime goals.
Goals today: 10k step minimum, 2.5L water, 10pm bed and adding no junk also.
B: berries, almonds and Greek yoghurt
L: apple and pear (serious about food shortage!!) I will need something on arrival home likely Greek yoghurt, granola and an apple.
D: lamb tagine from freezer
Have a good day all. I have a 2k word report that needs doing but tending to myself first as I'm just exhausted, I'm sure all the same at moment.
